Students in South Sudan start New Congregations

Greetings brothers, and happy new month.

As our students are home, I would like to share with you the activities that they are getting involved in and new congregations that they have started.

Evangelism

In Aweil, there is one new congregation started by one of our Mariano, which is getting good attendance for 2 weeks so far. And again we have in Jonglei Uror County a new congregation started by Mading Majieth, with few number as 6, at his home village. Others have joined their old congregations and are helping their congregations with church activities on a Sunday basis.

Baptism

In Aweil, they baptized 11 souls overall results in 8 congregations.

And I Uror Mading has baptized 2 souls.

School Opening

We are still 3 weeks away from the opening of the school, which is the 27th of this month, and classes resume on 30th Monday June.

We will still update you on their activities.

Thank you once again, and may God bless us all to continue doing His will.

Abia State, Nigeria Celebrates Six Graduates

REPORT OF THE NIGERIAN INSTITUTE OF ARTS AND THEOLOGICAL STUDIES / BEAR VALLEY BIBLE INSTITUTE – NIGERIA

MAY 2025

The goal of the Institute of Arts and Theological studies, Ntigha Onicha Ngwa, is to train men and women and provide them with the necessary skills- as well as the ability- to discern and apply the principles and values learned in the school to enable function and excel in the congregations where they serve. While we have teachers to guide, the curriculum provided by Bear Valley Bible Institute gives in-depth knowledge of the Scriptures. This is the idea behind the motto of the school: Wisdom for Service. Upon resumption, the school staff gathered to design the way forward for the semester. In the course of the year, the school, in conjunction with annual lectureships programs, have had over 30 baptisms. The students have been equipped and still being equipped for weekend evangelism as they help congregations far and near to achieve the goal of spreading the message of the cross till all have heard.

Library

In order to have quality education, the school has secured the services of a new librarian. Mr. Abba John is constantly present and lives on campus. He provides both teaching and library services to the students. He also mans the digital library provided by Chad Wagner. The students are able to do good research with the available books. Hard copy books that meet the needs of the time are being secured, too. In fact, the school has purchased new hard-copy books. She has also received a series of Spiritual Sword materials. The library is growing gradually. The students are beginning to embark on research and are excited about new discoveries. The graduating class is excited about the availability of both digital and hard copy materials for their project writing.

Infrastructural Development

The school is beginning to mold blocks to enable her to complete a two-block classroom as well as instructors’ offices. Furthermore, the school is working on renovating the school hostels, too. These are done in preparation for the intake exams and subsequent intake by August, 2025. More importantly, there is constant power supply from the Aba Power Limited. This means that the students have constant water supply as well power supply to enable them to accomplish their academic requirements with ease. Things are just getting better.

Matriculation/Graduation

The school is excited to announce that this year, a set of six students will be graduating from the school. They have given their time to studying and the instructors have done their part to help them as they go on their way into the preaching work. Moreover, with the new life being experienced, NIATS/BEAR VALLEY-calls have been coming requesting to know the NIATS/BV admission requirements. This means a lot to the faculty and staff of the institution. To this end, it is important to note that the school will welcome, God willing, more students this year.

Medical Facility

The presence and closeness of the Nigerian Christian Hospital (NCH) Nlagu, has a wonderful effect. The hospital is there to serve the medical needs of the school. We are grateful to all the support from both the secondary school and the hospital. In the last report, it was hinted that one of the gatemen was admitted at the NCH. Unfortunately, Mr. Okoro passed on. He died of hepatitis disease. This has brought some difficulties both to the school and the immediate family of the diseased man. The school has since visited the wife and children. The burial date is yet to be communicated. The school solicits your prayers and support in this regard.

Gospel Campaign

The Evangelism and Discipleship Seminar held at Church of Christ Zonal Board-Afor Une, Aba Abia State was a two-day impactful event aimed at equipping believers with biblical tools for soul-winning and spiritual growth. The seminar was organized through the collaborative efforts of the local church leadership and the outreach department of Nigerian Institute of Arts and Theological Studies. This event was born out of a burden to identify and strengthen struggling local churches through Biblical training and encouragement.

The seminar was attended by 30 participants from the Church of Christ Zonal Board and staff and students of the Nigerian Institute of Arts and Theological Studies. The audience included church leaders, youth representatives, and evangelism team members. Facilitators from the Bible College and the Nigerian Christian Hospital Chaplaincy, Nlagu included Usim Solomon, Chidi Chibunna, and Bro. Nnaemeka Josiah coordinated the local church, all of whom brought sound biblical instruction and practical insights.

The seminar proved timely and transformative. It not only trained believers in the practice of evangelism and discipleship, but also revived hope among a small congregation facing stagnation. More importantly, it signaled the need for deliberate efforts to discover and confirm struggling churches. By standing together, teaching truth, and bearing one another’s burdens, the Body of Christ is made stronger. At the time of this report, there has been no baptism.

Conclusion

We are grateful to God Almighty for His endless blessings. We are also thankful to all our supporters. We pray that your support will never be in vain, rather it will be a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God (Phil 4:18). The work continues in hope of a greater fulfilment.

BVBI in Ukraine Celebrates a Graduation

Bear Valley Bible Institute – Ukraine

April–May 2025 Ministry Report

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Greetings to you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are grateful for your continued prayers, support, and encouragement throughout this challenging academic year.

Graduation 2025

We are pleased to announce that two students, Vadym and Maksym, will graduate this year from the Bear Valley Bible Institute in Ukraine. The graduation ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, May 26. Both students have successfully completed all the courses required by the Institute’s administration and will receive their diplomas. Lord willing, they will also continue their studies in the Master’s program, which is a great joy and encouragement for all of us.

Ongoing War and Prayer Request

Unfortunately, the military conflict in Ukraine continues. At this time, it is too early to speak of any peaceful resolution. We ask you to continue fervently praying for peace in Ukraine, for the protection of our people, and for strength and wisdom as we keep serving the Lord during these difficult times.

Faculty and Teaching Ministry

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our Ukrainian instructors, who have remained committed and faithful throughout this academic year. We are also deeply grateful to our brothers from the United States, who continue to support us with their time, teaching, and resources. The collaboration between Ukrainian and American teachers has produced excellent results, and we thank God for such a strong, dedicated teaching team.

We are especially encouraged by the active ministry work of our graduates, who now serve as preachers in various local churches across Ukraine. For example, just a few days ago, brother Oleh Fafanov baptized a woman in Uzgorod church—she is now our sister in Christ! These events are taking place in many congregations where our former students serve. It brings us great joy and pride to witness the fruit of this ministry. Truly, Ukraine is a field where the Word of God is being sown and is already producing a harvest.

Looking Ahead

We are excited to report that three new students have already committed to join the program in September, and we hope that more students will enroll during the summer months. The future of this work looks bright, and we pray for continued growth and impact.

Gratitude to Supporters

We want to express our sincere gratitude to all of our sponsors, friends, and churches who support the work of the Bear Valley Bible Institute in Ukraine. Your contributions, prayers, and encouragement are making an eternal difference. Thank you for standing with us.

Personal Update

At this time, my family and I are located in Germany, where we continue to serve the Lord. We are working with a home Bible study group and regularly attend the church in Leipzig. We are thankful for the opportunities God continues to provide.

May the Lord bless and keep you all. Thank you for your partnership in the gospel.

More to come soon…

In Christ’s service,

Sopelnyk Denys

3. Enhance practical ministry training through more hospital and school engagements.

We trust God for greater milestones in the coming months as we continue training faithful preachers and transforming communities through the Gospel.

Students in Benin City work with Local Congregations

Introduction

With a joyful heart and thanksgiving to God Almighty and the Bear Valley family worldwide, I present the report of the Bear Valley Bible Institute Nigeria – Benin City for the first quarter of 2025. This quarter witnessed a combination of enriching academic activities, field evangelism, and significant spiritual impact on local congregations.

Academic Activities

Students participated actively in classroom instruction, fieldwork, and spiritual exercises, including baptisms. Under my supervision, the following courses were taught:

The Book of Revelation

The Preacher and His Work

Church History

All courses were judiciously handled by our instructors, and examinations were conducted. The students performed excellently, demonstrating both academic and spiritual growth.

Evangelism

On March 29, 2025, students and faculty collaborated with the Church of Christ at Street 10, Idumnowina Road, Opposite Mother Mary Way, Upper Mission Extension, Benin City, for a community evangelism outreach.

During this exercise, Brother Fidelis Daniel, one of our instructors, shared a remarkable testimony. A woman who had been praying for God’s guidance to find the true church received the evangelism team warmly when they knocked on her door. Though she has not yet obeyed the gospel through baptism, she has since been consistent in attending services. We continue to pray that the Lord opens her heart to full obedience.

Impact

The Bear Valley Bible Institute – Benin City continues to make notable contributions to the Kingdom. Congregations are increasingly recognizing the value of our students, often appointing them as preachers.

A key highlight this quarter is the appointment of Brother Anthony Osadiaye, one of our students, as the full-time minister of the Church of Christ, Saint Saviour, Owie Road, Benin City. We give thanks to God and express our deep appreciation to the Bear Valley family for their support.

Additionally, our students maintain evangelistic efforts in their home congregations, which has led to a consistent increase in baptisms and local church growth.

Conclusion

We give all glory to God for the progress of the work in Benin City and express sincere gratitude to the Bear Valley family for their continued partnership and support.

Vacation evangelism in Liberia

College View Community

Sanniquillie City, Nimba County

Operation Report For April 2025

 PROLOGUE / INTRODUCTION

We will continue to thank God for your support toward the Lord's work in this part of the world. We count ourselves so much blessed for this great privilege and blessings to be part of His workforce in teaching the truth in His kingdom. We are grateful for this opportunity to work with you (1Thessalonia 5:18).

CROSS BORDER EVANGELISM

In his effort to win Africa for Christ, Bro. Steven Ashcraft, Bear Valley Bible Institute West Africa Cordinator organized a cross border Evangelistic Campaign to establish the Church in Lola Guinea. A four Men Evangelistic team from Gueckedou, Guinea and Nimba County, Liberia, led by Bro. Fester G. Lee of Liberia, arrived in Lola Guinea On Saturday April 5, 2025 ahead of other Team Members to prepare for the Campaign. Later, they were joined by Bro. Steven Ashcraft and four other brethren from the Ivory Coast and Bro. Francis Musa of Gueckedou, Guinea to continue with the work.

Fortunately, we were received by the Lola Bellevue Community dwellers and a kind hearted Community leader Mr.Yon Neimy who embraced the idea of establishing the Church in their community. Mr. Neimy who later became a member of the Church with his wife, was very much instrumental in making sure the mission succeeded. By the grace of God, through his tireless efforts, the cross border Evangelistic Team was able to establish the church in the Bellevue Community of Lola in Guinea on Sunday April 13, 2025 with twenty three (23) souls being converted in obedience to the gospel through water baptism.

The team departed Lola on Monday April 14, 2025 leaving Bro. George Martor a Student of the Bear Valley Bible Institute-Liberia Extension In charge of the congregation temporally. He is expected to visit the congregation every Friday after school and return on Sunday after church service for classes in Liberia until we get someone to minister the Church.

MEN’S TRAINING

While we are in search of minister for the church, the need to prepare men of the congregation to lead service is key. In this vain, Bro. Francis Musa started a training section for the men of the congregation to lead the service. But he suggested that, to adequately prepare them, there is a need to plan a quick impact training program to equip them so as to help sustain the congregation in terms of leadership. He being a Guinean, we suggested that he prepares the plan for implementation.

BATCH FOUR YEAR TWO

QUARTER TWO RESUMED

On March 3rd 2025, our students returned back to school after two weeks of break; from April 21 to May 4, 2025. From the break, the students and staff are all in high spirit to play their own roles as required of them to enable us to complete another quarter of the school year. Unfortunately, one of our students has not returned and from the look of things, he might not be coming back because of his many complaints of the lessons being very intensive.

As part of the school policy, every student is required to submit a vacation report on their evangelistic activities during the break. The report takes in to consideration:

1.     Where the student spent the vacation

2.     Spiritual Activities

3.     Results of those Activities

4.     Name Of Congregation

5.     Name and Contact of Minister or Church leader with whom the student worked

Results gathered from their reports are encouraging, and we are so proud of the practical works out of the classroom by our students.

Out of  the 13 students who went for the break, we received 12 student’s vacation reports indicating that they were involved into preaching and teaching at their various congregations, and doing house to house evangelism. We did a follow up to confirm this information by placing a phone called to the leaders of the various congregations and they all confirmed working with the students. Please pray that these men continue to grow in the work of our Lord as they prepare to take their various responsibilities as Evangelists and ministers of the Gospel.

 CONCLUSION

It is your love for God and your constant support that has allowed us to come this far with the huge work we have here. Please accept our heartfelt gratitude for your spiritual and financial assistance. We are eternally grateful to each and every of you. To God be the glory, praise and honor belong to Him.

Thanks!

Evangelism campaigns in Wotutu, Cameroon

Dearest in Christ,

Greetings to all of you who read our reports. We are grateful for you, and we pray that this report finds you in good health and sound in faith regarding the things of Christ. Last week went well along with all that is entrusted in our hands here as we labor daily for the cause of Christ.

Tomorrow, the 20th of May, is our national day here in Cameroon. Please take a bit of your time to pray for the country Cameroon that God should help us in the senseless crisis that we have been inside for the past 8 years.

We were out of Wotutu for mass evangelism in Mudeka for the weekend. We went there to help evangelize the community and also to bid farewell to a faithful sister in Christ there. It was Helen Peter who passed away. Please keep her children in your prayers. After a busy day of house-to-house evangelism, we sat down somewhere to eat and regain energy for more work.

House to House evangelism gives us great opportunities to share the gospel to many willing hearts. They are free to ask questions about what they have heard from us, as they compare it with what they have been hearing and practicing in their denominations.

By 8 O’clock in the evening, we converged in a village square to preach in the open air to the public. I preached on the topic, “The Reality of the Judgement Day.” It was sounding frightening to many onlookers. That is why the evening was characterized with many questions and answers. Many were eager to know, if truly there will be a day, when all activities on earth will stop, and God will judge all mankind.

During the day, we were busy with house-to-house offering the bread of life free of charge. While many denominational groups sell their messages with promises of miracles, we are offering the undiluted word, absolutely free of charge. Please keep our efforts in your prayers.

The community was very receptive to us as they opened the doors of their houses to welcome us. They were also encouraged to open up their hearts and the pages of their Bibles to sort out the truth. Many questions were asked to help clear doubts and we used the scriptures only, to clear their doubts.

God is too good as we are daily seeing the increase He is giving through our other ministries here like the Brightland Christian Orphanage. This week we baptized Egu Philemon, a young man that is living in and being cared for in Brightland Christian Orphanage Wotutu. This is a great ministry that is reaching out to true orphans to “nurture them for eternity.”

Ursla Bapoh also obeyed the gospel on Sunday 18 May 2025. When we started dreaming about starting the orphanage, we decided that our motto would be “NURTURING FOR ETERNITY.” We can see our dream coming true. Anyone knowing the condition of these children before their coming to the orphanage would have wondered about the future of these children and who would take care of them after their parents passed away. They can now see the love of God through His children that are either overseeing, donating to, or taking care of these children through Brightland Christian Orphanage (BCO). These are children who can’t really explain to anyone why they were the one to end up as orphans. Please, in your private time, remember these children in your prayers.

Marieclaire Anna is a student in the Brightland Christian schools here in Wotutu. We do our best to use Christian education to preach the gospel while these children are in our confined space, we reach out to them with the truth. This is possible through the Brightland Christian schools.

Sakwe Liwini, also a student from Brightland, obeyed the gospel. Christian education cannot be overlooked. These young minds can easily be transformed in school into becoming something better than if they were only left to the influencers in the society. A total of 7 precious souls were added into the body of Christ during the weekend.

 PLANS

Individual weekend evangelism will continue this weekend to nurture and evangelize different communities.

 Appreciations

Thank you! Thank you very much for all the things you do for the advancement of the kingdom of God. God is watching and will definitely reward everyone in due season. Please kindly share our reports with others around you.

Make a great day!

Elangwe and family

Many conversions in Sierra Leone

ACTIVITY OPERATION REPORT FOR APRIL 2025

Full Time and the Extended (2) Programs

INTRODUCTION

We are at that time of a year where we are transitioning from the dry to the rainy season, whereby unexpectedly the rain comes. It is indeed a great blessing from the Lord that He sends rain to us. And this blessing has never negatively affected our work here.  April was a lovely month for us even when the rains were introduced. In that month, the school embarked on a successful campaign, held two trainings (one for the evangelistic team leaders and one for the graduates), and converted some souls and restored some. Academically, our students held on. Here are the details:

 STUDENTS UPDATE

You were informed in our March report that our full time students were to go on a short 2 weeks break which was expected to end on April 14, 2025. Indeed, they resumed classes just as expected. They started their 6th quarter which is expected to end by the mid of July, Lord willing. While they were on break, they continued to be very useful in their local congregations and beyond. Their congregations have been calling and appreciating the administration for the impact that the school is creating in the lives of their brethren. Yes, this appreciation ought to go to God as well as you for creating the opportunity for us to do much of what we are doing.

On the other hand, our 10 part time students continued committedly with their classes. Since they only come on Saturdays to take classes, we do not usually have plenty of time for breaks and they have been happy with that. Many of them are congregational leaders and are doing well in their congregations. The sisters (many are preachers’ wives) who are among them are not also relenting. From April 17 to 20, 2025, the women in Churches of Christ Sierra Leone had a ladies’ seminar and many of our students taught lessons. This is very important to us as it gives us joy that our students are making themselves available for service in the Lord’s vineyard!  We are grateful to God for having such students.

EVANGELISTIC CAMPAIGN AND CONVERSION OF SOULS

We have been embarking on evangelistic campaigns and weekly evangelism for two reasons: a. To obey the great commission and b. To instill the culture of evangelism in our students so that even when they graduate, they would be eager to win souls for Christ. And we can say that we are seeing great results.

From April 22 – 27, we directed our campaign efforts at Levuma Mandu, a town in Kailahun District. Three years ago (January 2022 report), we reported to you that we went to the Levuma community where the Church of Christ was established but became corrupted with false teaching. And that the congregation (over 70 members) was restored and had 15 more conversions. We went on to tell you that Levuma had been included in our external mission territory. So this past April, we decided to revisit Levuma again with a robust campaign. The congregation is doing well doctrinally and the members have been teaming up with other local congregations in Kailahun District to promote the interest of Christ.  With the involvement of the local brethren at Levuma, we had 10 converts and 10 more brethren restored who had become weak in faith. Apart from this, as you know, the evangelistic teams on the field had forty-one (41) conversions and conducted several seminars to build up new converts and to strengthen weak brethren. These men and women are working harder and may God reward their efforts! We held training for their leaders (team leaders) and it was very successful!

ALUMNI UPDATE

Our graduates on the field are also not relenting in their efforts to demonstrate the mind of Christ in their communities. The school has been in constant touch with many of them and there is a good relationship existing between them and the administration. Because we understand that our graduates need to keep on learning and improving every day just like all of us here, we decided to conduct a 2 days training for them on the skills to relate and work with local congregations well (April 24 and 25, 2025). This training was conducted at the Kenema campus. All the graduates who were present for the training were sixteen (16) including Joseph Missailie Jr., our Dean of Students who is also a very serious alumnus. After the training, we held a closed door meeting with them. The aim of the meeting was to share their experiences with us, what challenges (not focusing on financial because everyone has that) they are going through, how they have been navigating through, what their strengths are, how successful they have been ministry wise, what plans they have for the future, and how we can both continue to team up to promote the interest of Christ and the school.

A STAFF’S PROFILE: Michael Sahr Triyoh

Today’s attention is drawn to our lovely and committed Brother, Michael. He was born on the 27th April, 1993, in the village of Weigiba, Republic of Guinea during the dawn of the civil war in Sierra Leone to Sahr Triyoh (Sahr Batta) and Kumba, Hawa Triyoh. The story of Michael is one of hope, resilience, faith and perseverance. Growing up in a polygamous family was tough and challenging. He survived with his extended family from subsistence farming, hunting and blacksmithing. He learned the craft from his father at an early age and for some time used it to sustain his livelihood. Due to the competition at home among the many siblings, many privileges and rights a child should enjoy Michael was denied. Sometimes he would fight for scraps of food and other things for survival. In all these challenges, he never gave up on life.

About his spiritual journey, Michael clarifies:

I was born in a typical African Traditional Religious family. My father, who was a blacksmith, belonged to many secret societies. One day, when I was growing up,  he approached me in order to initiate me into his way of life but I respectfully disagreed; and from that point he respected my position and never bothered me again about the issue. During my high school days in Koindu, around 2013, I started interacting with a colleague who was a member of the Lord’s church by the name Sahr F. Johnson. He would give me tracts to read and we would discuss biblical positions on many things. Such discussions interested me so much. While we were having all those discussions, I was in a denomination. Later, the preacher of the Church of Christ in my village, Fasedu, Tamba Gborie engaged me again when I visited home for holiday. With more convincing proof, he succeeded in converting me. I started attending the Lord’s church in the village and after baptism I started teaching and preaching in the congregation, making lessons and sermons from the tracts I received from him.

My father was surprised when he saw the church accompanying me to the waters of baptism in 2014. And from that point, my journey in the Lord began.

Because of his focus on the Lord, Michael was recommended by his then preacher through the effort of Brother Francis Musa in 2017 to go to a preacher training school in Nigeria to study God’s word. While in the training school, he was of excellent moral character and academically did well. Before he could finish his B.A (Ministry), he was recommended to join the Bear Valley faculty in Sierra Leone. And since his involvement in 2021 till date, Michael has proven to be very committed and is adding value to the existence of the school day by day. Michael is also very evangelistically focused. That is why he serves as the coordinator of evangelism and the Dean of Academics for the school. He is married with two children and expecting the third one soon, Lord willing. We are truly blessed to have him in the family of BVBISL!

CONCLUSION

Thank you for reading this report to this point. Thank you for your prayers and support. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Dear Brethren In Christ,

We bring greetings from the Students & Staff from the Bikkavolu Bible College. We are very excited to share this good news of sending out another successful group of men who have been qualified to receive the course completion certificate from Bear Valley International. At this time we have 10 students who meet this requirement to receive BBS diploma. As a token of appreciation these graduates received silver rings with a title of 'Bear Valley' from our school. Brother Irven Skinner supplied Bicycles & Mega Phones for all the graduates. These graduates  received Study Bibles in English & Telugu, Bible Dictionary, also Stack of Christian Literature that will help them in their ministry.  We are very much looking forward to seeing these individuals being very instrumental in establishing congregations in their neighbouring communities. We were honored to have brother Keith Kasarjian, Director, Bear Valley International for being the guest of honor to present the awards to the Graduates, we are mindful to brother Mark Reynolds for his great contributions to the Bear Valley schools in India, God bless you both.

Brethren, We truly have men that are able to preach confidently as well as initiate conversations very politely. We do have some sound singers who can deliver the message of God and His love through their melodious, charismatic singing (vocal).  We are very much appreciative of your prayer of encouragement; our two years of efforts in making these individuals has been very rewarding. We thank you so much for being a part of it.  Please convey this exciting news with the rest of the congregation, as these individuals will be sooner reaching out to many thousands of unsaved souls. Yes millions in our country are lost, they are in desperate situation, they are in a hopeless situation, and need Jesus. Individuals like our graduates are going to touch them with good news, news of hope, and eternity.

We personally thank the Elders, Deacons, Mission Committee at Killen Church of Christ, Tuscumbia Church of Christ, Lomax Church of Christ, Union Church of Christ and Atlas Church of Christ, for their continued trust and confidence which enabled us today to send out these graduates to establish congregations, to become leaders to lead many Christ as well as bring up next generation leaders by working with children and young people. In this country of  religion becoming radical, our men have taken up the challenge to go forward to reach out the unreached millions Kindly continue your prayers for them in their strive to spread the Good News. We look forward to sharing the results of their efforts, God bless you all, we love you.

New congregation planted in Togo

Monthly Report – April 2025

Bear Valley Bible Institute – Kara, Togo (Northern Region)

Introduction

April began under favorable conditions at the Bear Valley Bible Institute in Kara. Both instructors and students maintained consistent attendance, participating in theoretical lessons and practical activities such as devotionals, personal studies, and evangelism in homes, on the streets, and in public places.

The overall goal of the Institute remains the same: to train evangelists rooted in the Word of God, capable of proclaiming the Gospel with zeal and competence across all layers of society.

Student Health

Most of the students come from various regions of Togo, and two are from neighboring countries (Niger and Burkina Faso). This change in climate and diet initially caused some health discomforts. Thanks to appropriate care, the situation is now under control.

One student from Burkina Faso was referred to the hospital in Kara for more advanced medical care. Despite this, he continues to attend classes diligently, except for two mornings per week when he must go to the hospital at 8:00 a.m. for treatment, then returns to continue classes later in the day.

Theoretical Courses (April 2025)

The subjects taught during the month of April were:

·         Survey of the Old Testament – Instructor: ATOKI Nicodème

·         French Language – Instructor: KPELEVI M.

·         God’s Plan for the Salvation of Humanity – Instructor: BEDJELSI Fidèle

·         Homiletics I (Art of Preaching) – Instructor: BEDJELSI Fidèle

·         Singing in Christian Worship – Instructor: NYEMANTA Céphas

·         The Holy Spirit of God – Instructor: NYEMANTA Céphas

Academic Evaluations

At the end of each module, an evaluation was conducted to assess the students’ level of understanding. These evaluations are essential tools for identifying each student’s strengths and specific challenges. It should be noted that intellectual capacity varies from one student to another, and some show timidity in class. To address this, weekend tutoring sessions are regularly organized to reinforce learning and help unify the class level.

Practical Evangelism (Fridays)

Since the launch of this new cohort on February 24, 2025, evangelism has been at the heart of the training. It represents not only a fundamental Christian duty but also the main driving force for the spiritual and numerical growth of the Church.

Evangelism Training Tools

A practical 87-page manual has been designed and adapted for various contexts to help students effectively share the Gospel with all segments of society, regardless of religious affiliation. This material is used alongside the official academic program and aims to encourage preaching in schools, homes, and any setting where a spiritual conversation is possible.

Outreach Results

·         First evangelistic outing: 1 person baptized

·         Second outing: 5 people baptized, including one woman named LYDAWOU and four men

Upcoming Public Evangelism

Following these initial experiences in personal and group evangelism, public evangelism campaigns will be organized. These events will give students the opportunity to speak before larger audiences in preparation for future seminars and conferences.

Challenges and Future Outlook

Each student is required to plant at least one church during their training in order to graduate. This requirement is consistent with their calling as evangelists—not as pastors or church administrators. It is essential that they be equipped for practical mission work.

Birth of a New Congregation: BOHOU-TOZIDE

Following the baptisms recorded, a new congregation has been planted in BOHOU-TOZIDE. This mission field will serve as a practical training ground for students. Additional church planting and evangelism projects are currently being planned to support the growth of existing congregations in the region.

Conclusion

We give glory to God for the grace shown throughout the month of April. The progress observed both academically and in missionary work is encouraging. The Institute remains committed to its mission of training qualified laborers for the Lord’s harvest.

We thank all our partners, instructors, brothers, and sisters for their spiritual, moral, and material support.

Your brother in Christ,
N. Céphas

GUECKEDOU BEAR VALLEY BIBLE INSTITUTE ACTIVITY OPERATIONS REPORT FOR MARCH AND APRIL 2025

Greetings to you, our supporters and all interested persons of the above named institution. It has been a while since our last activity report which was for the month of February this year. Usually, under normal conditions every month's report is done before this time. But the challenges of April which included an abrupt relocation of students lodging to a new facility, evangelistic activities and especially health problems overwhelmed us resulting in this delay for which we apologise and promise to do our best next time. But despite these challenges, we are standing firm and all is improving well to the glory of God.

The activities of the months of March and April included lectures, congregational follow ups, a gospel seminar and some great evangelistic teams work with amazing results of conversions. Follow us for the details under the sub-headings below!

Classroom and Disruption of Students Dormitory:

We started the month of March with brother Antoine Fassa Tolno who took on the students with First Corinthians. A week later classes were interrupted because the school house was sold without our notice.

Our contact host was not the owner of the premises, and he had not informed the house owner of the rent contract even though our yearly payment was in advance. Said house was one of 2 compounds we rented side by side, but now loose one and  had to transfer to another building. This took us additional time before brother Antoine completed the book of 1 Corinthians.

Following this was the book of Acts with brother François Tengiano and this course lasted to the close of March. Afterwards, we had a 2 weeks break for the students to settle some  farming activities.

Later, brother Tolno again took them on a special course, Stewardship after another week of revision followed by the third quarter exams. The results of these classes and exams were satisfactory.

Follow ups to Congregations / Personal Evangelism:

During the months of March and April our staff and students made follow ups to various congregations to exhort and strengthen the brethren. During this exercise we converted 6 and 5 souls in March and April respectively.

Men's Gospel Seminar:

There was a gospel seminar organised by the men of the Gueckedou and surrounding churches. It was held on March 28th to 30th in the sous prefecture town of Owet Djiba with a good turn up of evangelists though not all . There were 2 nights of teaching and a day of house to house evangelism which resulted in 9 baptisms on the climax day of Sunday, March 30th.

Our next 3 days men's gospel seminar is scheduled to commence on next June, the 28th in the village of Nongoa-pombo.

EVANGELISTIC WORKS:

There were 2 sets of evangelistic activities carried on during the period under review and all were very successful to the glory of God! Regular readers of our reports know that these were initiated through the evangelistic ambition of our able Coordinator, Steven Ashcraft who himself will sometimes be on the field with us such as during the activities of point "A" below.

A. Crossborder Evangelism:

Beginning on the 5th of April, evangelists from Guinea, Liberia and Côté d'ivoire started assembling in the border town of Lola, (a prefecture headquarters of Lola) some 265 klm from Gueckedou but closer to Liberia and Côté d'ivoire to evangelise that community. In all, we were 11 men including bro. Steven who had proposed and with whom we planned the program while he was still in the US. The good Lord led us to a certain quarter (Bellevue) chef and his wife whose heart the Lord opened not only to accept the gospel, but to accommodate us until our departure on Monday, the 13th April. Every day, we did a house to house evangelism in groups of 3 and 4 followed by an open air preaching during the night hours. By Sunday, the 13th of April we converted 19 souls. Then on the following Sundays, April 20th and 27th, using the opportunity of my stay in N'zerekore to attend to my wife who had been ill and evacuated there at the regional hospital, went back to help the new brethren. Again we baptised 4 more persons. Including that follow up, we have baptised 23 persons on the Lola cross border evangelism mission.

B. Evangelistic Teams:

During the months of March and April, there were several evangelistic teams that went out to do mission work and there were many successes despite the many challenges during some of the campaigns.

In the Conakry area, brothers Francis and François are in a constant struggle to strengthen and expand the Kingdom borders with extreme hunger. Often, the grounds of residents in the urban areas coupled with their Islamic dominance is not as fertile as the territories of rural areas and so our brothers are facing a tough challenge to convert souls. But since our prospects are usually willing to listen to the gospel, we have hope that someday there will be an increase in harvest.

Now in the rural areas especially around Gueckedou some 6 teams including the Bear Valley staff and students conducted the following successful campaigns in the villages of:

1. Yende-bawa of Temessadou Djigbo - 12 baptisms on 13/3/25

2. Sembezou of Tekoulo - 4 baptisms on 23/3/25

3. Memessadou - 8 baptisms on 1/4/25

4. Bandakoro of Temessadou Djigbo - 15 baptisms on 8/4/25

5. Wamandou of Temessadou Djigbo - 5 baptisms on 13/4/25

6. Koumasan of Tekoulo - 19 baptisms on 13/4/25

7. Yillasandou of Temessadou Djigbo - 11 baptisms on 23/4/25

8. Bédou Daye  - 5 baptisms on 13/4/25

9. Kolooma of Tekoulo - 8 baptisms on 27/4/25.

These are 12 campaigns that planted 9 churches when 72 souls obeyed Christ at their initial preaching. Follow up works during March and April yielded another 19 baptisms making a total of 91 souls for the evangelistic campaigns by the Guinea Evangelistic Teams in March and April.

Before l conclude, please permit me to share an interesting event that occurred on the field during one of the campaigns. It is an event that proves again that God's word is always true.

The people of the first village, Yende-bawa of Temessadou Djibo had long wished to serve God and had made several appeals to the only available "people of God" around them, the New Apostolic and the Assemblies of God / Protestant churches to no avail. None of these church leaders accepted these people's  request to plant a church in their village, rather the villagers were required to attend one in any of the centers where their buildings are erected. For the fear of embarrassment should one of them die and not get a church or pastor to identify with them as in the past, they decided this time to call on the New Apostolic Pastor in the nearby village. But the Pastor demanded that a formal letter requesting admission be written and submitted first.

Ok, this they did and on his way to submit the letter, the messenger met in another village on the way with one of our team leaders, brother Saa Many Koundouno. They greeted each other, and since they recalled their long-time acquaintance, began to inquire about the current business or work of each other.

On hearing that bro Saa Many was now an evangelist and on a mission to survey an area to preach the gospel, immediately pulled out the letter and submitted it to the evangelist saying, "here you are, have it".  He made a brief explanation of their desire to worship God. This is like the Macedonian call (Actes 16:9) and the truth "So that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him, and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us" - Acts 17:27.

Yes, in the next 2 days the church was planted when 12 were baptised.

Thank you for your courage to read through.

Conclusion:

We are grateful to Almighty God for His grace and we truly appreciate your every support in this all important business of preacher training and soul saving.

Men are being trained and churches are planted. Thank you for supporting us to make Heaven rejoice.

Of all the personal evangelism, the cross border evangelistic mission and that of the evangelistic teams work as well as the men's gospel seminar held in March and April we have planted 10 churches - converted 134 persons to Christ!

God is to be glorified !!

Thanks again and may God's grace continue to accompany us all.

Students in Takoradi, Ghana work to grow a local church

OPERATIONAL REPORT APRIL 2025

1.     CLASSROOM WORK

Praise be to the name of our God and the Lord Jesus for the mercies upon our lives. We started a new academic year in the first month of 2025, and by the grace of God, we have successfully come to the end of the term. All the courses assigned to be studied in the first term were successfully completed. These courses were: Life of Christ 1 (by Nathaniel Brobbey), Old Testament 1 (by Nathaniel Brobbey), Hermeneutics 1 (by Joshua Aidoo), Homiletics 1 (by Joshua Aidoo), Christian Evidences and writing skills (by Douglas Armah).

Examination was written at the end of the term. The term was concluded with short courses which were taught by Samuel Owusu–Afari. These courses were on personal evangelism and the book of James.

Weekend classes for the part–time students went on smoothly in the month. As usual, they report to campus on Fridays where classes begin at 6:30 p.m. GMT and end on Saturdays at 4:00p.m. Three instructors teach every weekend. The first class is from 6:30p.m to 9: 00 p.m. (by Joshua Aidoo). On Saturdays, two classes are held from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (by Douglas Armah) and from 1:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. (by Nathaniel Brobbey).

In the month of April, students continued their studies on Hermeneutics 1, Christian Evidences and Old Testament 1 (first five books).

2.     PERSONAL EVANGELISM AND BAPTISM

Evangelism continued throughout the month but the highlight of evangelism for the month was the campaign for Christ which was organized by the school at the beginning of the month. The school received an invitation to help evangelize a community which has a weak congregation in it. The church has been in the town for years but it has been stagnant in growth and needed help in strengthening it. The school gladly welcomed the invitation and on Monday 31st March set out from Takoradi to Nzema Twenen for the evangelism. Hearing about the hardness of the “soil” of the land, we decided to go fully prepared. The program was well attended by the current students, invited past students and preachers in the Nzema area. Many people got to hear the truth in God’s word and seven (7) souls were added by the Lord to His church.

Students and Staff in Accra, Ghana Celebrate a Fruitful Month

Bear Valley Bible Institute - Accra

       Monthly Report - April, 2025

Overview

As we begin the second quarter, we reflect on our initiatives and activities at the Bear Valley Bible Institute (BVBI). April has been a month of growth, outreach, and preparation as we look forward to the new semester schedules.

Evangelism and church strengthening

This quarter begun with an evangelism outreach at Gomoa Dasum in the Central Region of Ghana. This initiative aimed to strengthen the local church community and spread the message of hope and faith among the residents. The outreach was met with enthusiasm and openness from the residents of Gomoa Dasum. Many expressed gratitude for the visit and showed interest in learning more about the teachings of Christianity. Several individuals committed to attending local church services, indicating a positive response to the evangelistic efforts; as a result, two baptisms were recorded.

Classroom Activities

This semester was marked by nine significant courses which specifically in this month started with communication skills as short course by Gorge Osafo.

The following week proceeded with the normal class sessions where Bro. Amoo-Gyimah is teaching the book of Romans on Mondays, John Acquah is teaching 1 &2 Peter on Tuesdays. E. O. Larbi is teaching Christian Leadership and Minor prophets on Wednesdays and Thursdays precisely, while Samuel Papa Woode is teaching Greek on Fridays.

 Radio Program

Our radio program continues to be a vital outreach tool for BVBI, allowing us to connect with the community and share the Gospel.

Weekly Broadcasts: Our topic for the month is still on the church of the Bible, specifically on the New Testament Worship. The church of the Bible has been selected again for the month of April because listeners are asking many questions.

Audience Engagement: We saw an increase in listener interactions, with many reaching out via phone calls and social media to share how the program has impacted their lives.

Thursday’s market preaching at Amasaman Market

Since the beginning of 2025, the staff, in collaboration with the student body, is increasing its evangelistic effort to reach the lost. Amasaman market is a vital place and was selected to share the Gospel with traders every Thursday, which is also making a great impact.

Campaign for New Students:

As some of the students will be completing their course by the end of the year, the school is campaigning massively for new students. As a result had added 2 students, making in total 13 students

Conclusion

April 2025 has been a fruitful month for the Bear Valley Bible Institute, with successful outreach initiatives and preparations for the new semester. We are excited about the impact of our radio program, the progress made in response to our campaign for new students. As we move forward, we remain committed to our mission of equipping leaders for service in the Kingdom of God.

We also remain grateful to our partners, alumni, and friends’ prayers, encouragement and financial contributions

May the Lord bless our endeavors as we strive to fulfil our mission.

Elders teach classes in Lesotho

BVBI LESOTHO REPORT

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. The school had a visitor in March. 19 souls were baptized during three evangelism campaigns.

The school was blessed to have Brother Donnie Estep, the South African Coordinator, on the 22nd of March. Brother Donnie had an opportunity to meet with the students, teachers, and the elders at the Maseru church of Christ. Donnie encouraged the students to continue their studies, and all the students appreciated his visit. On Sunday, Brother Donnie preached at Maseru church from the book of Luke 15. The students, former students, and instructors are working hard to spread the gospel. What are the former students doing? Brother Mohono and Brother Phiela are both assisting the Sehlabeng church of Christ. The church is growing both spiritually and numerically. Brother Motse Kolobe is ministering in Sefikeng, about 50km from Maseru. Brother Rahlao and Brother Moliko are assisting the Ladybrand church of Christ in South Africa. Elder Monyane and Elder Leuta are shepherding at the Maseru church. Elder Leuta has also joined to become one of the instructors at BVBI Maseru and Bloemfontein.

One of our students, Makhutla Mafatle, is working with the newly planted congregation in Maputsoe, about 100km from Maseru. He is evangelizing in Maputsoe and encouraging members to join him in evangelism. The congregation is growing numerically and also spiritually

.Three evangelism campaigns have been conducted twice in Sehlabeng (a baby congregation of Maser church) and one in Maputsoe (a baby congregation of Maseru). As a result of these campaigns, 19 souls were added to the church. The school needs to have more of these evangelism campaigns because they are essential for church growth.

Reaching the lost in Cameroon

Dearest in Christ,

Greetings from this part of the globe. It is Cameroon and to be precise, we are in Wotutu in the Southwest Region of Cameroon where we are serving God in His church. The month of April was filled with evangelistic trips to many areas as “We Think Souls.” I was invited to speak, by my former director, during the send-forth and thanksgiving ceremony of the Nigerian Christian Institute school of preaching where I was trained. It was an opportunity for me to meet former classmates and instructors, and to share a summary of the work we have been doing in Cameroon since our graduation in 2005.

We do hope this report will meet you, your entire family, and the church family, in good health and sound in the faith. God is still sitting on the throne and His work in Cameroon is making some significant progress. All glory goes back to His name.

Our students enjoyed some good food that was brought to them by some families in the Wotutu congregation. It was their own little way to motivate, support, and encourage the students toward their preaching vocation. They savored the Cameroonian delicacies in the STC dining hall. God will surely bless them for such good gestures.

We are still very much involved in our hinterland missions. Because the gospel is for all, we are taking the gospel to the hinterlands. It is not easy to penetrate those hinterlands with the absence of all wheel car vehicles. But that should not be an impediment for the advancement of the gospel. The New Testament church is absent in some villages, and we have the great commission that demands that we break any odds necessary to make sure that the gospel reaches there.

My wife, Elangwe Magdaline, was part of the mission to the Mbu Bakundu area. There is no motor pathway there. Even motorbikes cannot reach the village. As we trekked through the rainforest, we saw a lot of rain there, but because of the trekking, we were still sweating even with the cooling rain, because the terrain was not easy. But the song we sing motivates us as we believe that, “Anywhere with Jesus We Can Safely Go.” Trekking to get to the next village took us 4 hours inside the forest.

Brother Amos is a Christian in the Ikiliwindi congregation. The walls in the worship building are riddled with bullet holes because it is located along the road, where during the crisis, a lot of gunshots were fired for reasons we are not fully aware of. We shall be going there next month for mass evangelism to revive the congregation as the preacher escaped for the safety of his life during the crisis and has not returned even until now. The congregation has not opened her doors for the past eight years, because there is no one there to preach for them. The field is getting riper by the day but the laborers are really few.

We resorted to transporting the Mission Printing Bible tracts into the hinterland villages on our heads from the point that motorcycle transport had to stop after they took over from the point that the school van had to stop. Because of the rain, we used plastic wrap to waterproof and secure our tracts boxes.

There is no better reward, after struggling in the forest to make it to the village where you are designated to go share the gospel and have finally arrived, than to meet prospects and have the opportunity to introduce the message of the New Testament Church and you find them paying keen attention they listen attentively to the gospel message. It pushes away all your stress and suffering.

There was keen attention paid and kind receptivity of the people in these communities as they will take their time to coin questions and pay deep attention in listening to the speaker so as to gather the truth they are searching so earnestly for. I see them as being like Thessalonica because of their noble mindedness.

This young lady alongside twelve others obeyed the gospel in Difenda Balue village and so a congregation of the New Testament Church is fully established there. It is quite far from Wotutu. Just for a student to reach there, will cost us 40.000 frs or about $75. It is a reasonable charge for such a distance but a challenging one for us nonetheless. But, no amount of money can buy a soul out of hell or from the snare of the evil one. That is why we invest in preaching the gospel, as the gospel is God’s power to save.

A young lady also obeyed the gospel in Bosaka, low land village. Jesus brings spiritual salvation to the people, but as people obey the gospel, you will be able to see physical changes in them immediately as well. We think souls and we keep robbing from the strong man’s house. Our students are excited to spread the gospel message and we are happy to send them, because, “This is the Time to Go.” The field is ripe and the laborers are few. We are taking advantage of all available opportunities to hawk to these villages the free bread of life.

There are many ways to make the gospel of Christ known to people. In Wotutu, we are using the development of Christian education to preach the gospel in a wider spectrum. Our daily devotional and chapel services bring many young minds closer to the truth. This is one reason the Wotutu congregation is increasing as it is. We are using the gospel in a way to pass it through the children into their parents. It is working! In Wotutu, we also use the taking care of orphans to preach the gospel to many visitors who come to visit the Brightland Christian Orphanage are always touched by the gospel through songs or the reciting of memory verses by the children in the orphanage. Many thanks to those who believe in these ministries. I pray for others to see the need.

In the entire month of April, twenty souls were added into the Lord’s body. A new congregation was established and the Bosaka congregation revived with 27 souls now worshipping.

 Plans

In this month of May, we are planning two mass evangelism campaigns into different places while we continue in the nurturing of those congregations established and revived on a weekly basis. Preachers are scarce, so we dispatched students every Friday to go do house to house evangelism and nurture those young congregations. They then return to school on Sunday night. Please we plead for your prayers for us and for the work that has been entrusted in our hands.

Ekok is a virgin land. No congregation of the Lord’s church is there, so we will be there in the weeks ahead to evangelize the area. Ekok is a border town with Nigeria. We will also go to Mudeka for mass evangelism, and for nurturing.

Appreciations

Thank you! Thank you very much for all your prayers and support. They are the good wheels that make this work function. God is watching and will surely bless you and your family for your tireless efforts towards the work in Cameroon. If it pleases you, please share this report of the work with others.

 Make a great day

 Elangwe and family

Progress in Gweru, Zimbabwe

                                            APRIL 2025 NARRATIVE REPORT

INTRODUCTION

BVBIZ went on break in the earlier part of April. Despite this, students continued to make a positive impact in the lives of people and for themselves. God continues to use them for the growth of the Kingdom with the guidance of their teachers and various ambassadors and preachers who are already in the field. Sixteen souls were converted in the month. Sermons were preached and many were encouraged. For these and more, please find the details below.

1.2 KWEKWE CAMPAIGN

The school term began with an outreach to Kwekwe. From the 28th to the 30th of April, local preachers were joined by 15 BVBIZ students and teachers for a three-day evangelism campaign. The work concentrated around Masasa and Golden Acres residential areas. The program was in preparation for the Midlands Gospel Meeting which was scheduled to take place from the 1st to the 4th of May. Students were involved ]in door to door evangelism, WBS outreach, delivering sermons and other church activities and duties. The effort resulted in 12 souls being added to the church.

2.0 CLASSROOM AND OFFICE BLOCK UPDATE

2.1 State of Structure as of 30 April 2024

The roof to the classroom and office block was successfully installed in the month. This brings stage 2 of the project to an end. It is actually a milestone that has been reached. All available funds have been exhausted in the process. The school would want to appreciate all local contributors who collaborated with the school in this effort. Further appreciation goes to Woodland Oaks church of Christ for coming in strong as well. Thank You all!

2.2 Stage 3 of the structure

After completing the second stage of the structure, focus now goes on the third stage. This stage includes installation of window frames, glasses, plastering, ceiling, floors, electrical wiring, solar system and plumbing.

2.3 UPCOMING MEN’S NATIONAL LECTURESHIP

BVBIZ shall host a Men’s National Lectureship in August. The lectureship has been in existence for years. Though preachers have attended the two Preachers’ Retreats that have been held so far at the school, the Men’s National Lectureship is the first platform for men and leaders in the church to set foot at BVBIZ. This development shall be pivotal in exposing the men to BVBIZ, its programs and activities. Around 250 delegates are expected to converge at BVBIZ and dealing with at least the floors, plastering, window frames and glazing (as a priority will enable us to accommodate more people.

HOLIDAY PREACHING REPORT

By T.Matanhike

INTRODUCTION

Led by God's grace and guidance, throughout the month of April, I experienced countless moments of inspiration and growth, which I am excited to share with you in this report. I detail my tireless efforts to spread His love and truth, and I am thrilled to highlight the ways God has worked through me to make a meaningful impact. I am grateful for His unwavering presence and guidance, and I look forward to continuing to serve Him with dedication and enthusiasm.

1.0 LOCAL EVANGELISM

We are thankful to God for His guidance and assistance as we laboured in His vineyard. Our outreach efforts involved a combination of door-to-door visits, scheduled appointments, and informal meetings with individuals we encountered on the road. We also appreciated the support of our members, who introduced us to people eager to study the Bible with us. 1 am are humbled by the opportunities to share God's love and truth with others and pray for continued guidance and fruitfulness.

1.1 BAPTISMS

This month of April, we rejoice in the fact that five individuals took the significant step of being baptized, and we express our heartfelt gratitude to God for this blessing. We are thrilled to continue studying with them and we pray that God will persistently guide and strengthen them on their spiritual journey.

2.1 Teaching and Preaching

Over the past month, I had the privilege of delivering numerous insightful teaching and preaching sessions, carefully creating messages to nurture values that align with a life enriched with spirituality. As I reflect on these sessions, I pray that the Lord's grace will sustain the seeds of faith we planted, allowing them to take root and flourish, bearing fruit for years to come.

I trust that His guidance will continue to inspire and shape the lives of those who listened.

3. Youth Fellowship At Glendale

On the 21st April, youths from Mash Central gathered in Glendale for their inaugural meeting. Glendale COC was the chosen venue and it was a truly enriching experience. Brother Nyirongo and Brother Munhupedzi, the resident minister at Glendale, facilitated the event. The lesson taught was based on tongues in the bible vs modern day tongues. Indeed, it was a valuable lesson that greatly benefited the youth.

3.2 Members Visitation

During my stay, we initiated a member visitation program, dedicating time to connect with individuals, engage in meaningful conversations, and explore spiritual lessons together.
