WILL YOU PLANT A SEED?

1,000 Seeds is an initiative designed to cultivate the next generation of gospel preachers. This campaign invites 1,000 supporters to give $25 per month, each contribution representing a seed of faith planted in fertile soil.

Each “seed” provides vital resources—scholarships for students, salaries for instructors, study materials, and overall support for this work. These gifts ensure that students can focus on their studies, be mentored by experienced instructors, and graduate prepared to serve churches, strengthen communities, and spread the message of Christ wherever they are sent.

When you give, you are planting more than funds—you are planting hope, truth, and the Word of God in hearts across the world. As these seeds grow, they will produce fruit for generations to come.Join us in this mission. Plant a seed. Trust in God. Change the world. Together, our 1,000 seeds will raise up workers for the harvest and transform the world through the power of the gospel.

SCOTT BUSBEE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Scott was born May 5, 1964, in Sacramento, California. His name at that time was James Voll. Shortly after his birth, he moved to the Fort Worth area. In 1968, he was adopted by Buddy and Peggy Busbee, and his name was changed to John Scott Busbee. He attended Bedford, Watauga, and the Pipeline Road Church of Christ. He met Lavonda at Watauga Church of Christ when he was five and she was four. They were part of a tight youth group that made many great memories together. They attended there until Scott was 16 and then moved to the Pipeline Rd congregation. At that time, he lost track of Lavonda. Scott was a gifted singer and musician. He loved to sing, lead songs, and give devotionals in church from the time he was an early teenager. He also loved playing and building guitars. Scott attended L. D. Bell High School, where he excelled in theater, choir, and musical productions, including South Pacific. Scott graduated in 1982. He married Joyce and had their daughter, April, in 1986, followed by Robert in 1994. Scott’s love for his family was only second to his love for God. Sometime after Joyce passed, he reconnected with Lavonda and eventually married her. Scott was an example to many and displayed many characteristics that everyone should strive for. He always saw the best in people and never spoke badly of anyone around him. One of Scott’s most memorable qualities was his infectious and deep laugh. He loved playing guitar in his free time and enjoyed singing a cappella and leading congregational singing. For many years, he enjoyed working with the youth at his home congregation and loved helping them prepare for L2L. Scott lived a life dedicated to the Lord, attending the Bear Valley Institute in the fall of 2024 to further his impact on the kingdom and become a preacher at the time of his passing.

We Train Preachers - Together

We could not do the work we do training preachers all around the world without the generosity and kindness of Christians all over the globe. We charge no tuition for our students to come to Bear Valley to be trained. Our teachers also have to raise a majority of their own support to do their work here. And while the Bear Valley congregation contributes a significant percentage of their annual budget to operate the school, that amount is not enough to handle the expense of global work. Bear Valley partners with Givebutter. As such the forms below will ask donors for a tip to support their platform. This tip is optional and may be reduced to 0.

Even a small donation can make a big difference.

You can help us strengthen the church, here in the States and around the world, by helping us train sound men to preach the Gospel. You can help by providing a regular monthly amount to help us with this work or make a one-time donation.

Your donation is tax deductable

The Bear Valley Bible Institute is a qualified 501(c) charitable organization under the work of the Bear Valley church of Christ. As such, your donations are tax deductible.

Consider an ongoing monthly gift

Consider getting behind our work on a regular basis. Your regular monthly donation can help us train men to preach and help us plan and grow. Whatever the amount, your regular giving can make a big difference. Together we can help fill pulpits and provide evangelists all around the world.
