40 souls saved in Guinea
GUECKEDOU BEAR VALLEY BIBLE INSTITUTE ACTIVITY OPERATIONS REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF APRIL 2026
Precious greetings from the Bear Valley extension school family in Gueckedou, Guinea Conakry. We are grateful to Almighty God for His loving grace that has brought us thus far. Another month has ended and we are grateful for the blessings of God and the privilege of serving in the vineyard of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As usual, it is time for another update of activities that transpired here at the Gueckedou Bear Valley Bible institute. This is for the month of April which was another time of great success of training preachers, followup with personal evangelism and the planting of new churches.
Let us go into the details of these events under the following sub-headings:
Classroom: 12 students as candidates for the next soon-to-be graduates are being prepared through classroom and outdoor exercises. In addition to other lessons, much time has been given on the course "Denominational doctrines" with bro Antoine Fassa Tolno to withstand challenges on the field.
Follow up / personal evangelism:
We are very excited to report that even while in training our students apply effort to make Heaven rejoice. After all, the key focus of our training is to win souls for Christ. Hence, bro Alain, a previous graduate and student Antoine baptized 4 persons during their follow-up exercise in the village of Bounbengue. Another soul was also converted by one of our alumni members, bro Eloi. Other efforts are ongoing especially by the Conakry team where Islamic dominance is high. One of our team leaders, bro Saa Many Koundouno also succeeded in converting 2 sets of 3 souls in the new congregation at Solo 2.
So the follow up and personal evangelism resulted in 11 conversions
Another follow up visit made though brief was that of Lola towards the border of Liberia and lvory Coast.
The Lord's church at Lola is just a year old, but one that is blessed especially with a handful of dedicated women. Having completed one graduation exercise in Kenema Sierra, we saw the need to pass through Lola on our way to attend another, Bear Valley institute in the town of Sanniquellie, Nimba County, Liberia. The Lola brethren are keeping up with faith despite the challenges within and without. Our presence was an encourageant!
Evangelistic camping at Kissidougou: Brother Balla Kamano and Abel Sakilla teamed up to evangelize relatives and neighbors in the community where their new worship hall is located. They succeeded in converting 8 persons who accepted Christ in baptism.
Evangelistic team work: Indeed since the beginning of the month much effort was made and so the good Lord allowed us to plant 2 new churches in the villages of:
1. Lewa of Koundou Lengobengou when 9 persons were baptized on 28/4/26.
2. Dengedou, Koundou Lengobengou when 11+1 persons were baptized on 30/4/26.
The Radio program: Our 30 minutes weekly broadcast, though minimal, is of great effect in and around Gueckedou. More and more people are becoming interested in our messages. Calls are often received from truth seekers in and around the préfecture town of Gueckedou. While some call to ask doctrinal questions that we preach, others call to invite our physical presence for a more detailed discussion. It will be even more interesting if we can add up time to make an hour as most listeners appeal.
The terrain is often difficult, but we make an effort to attend and the outcome is often interesting even without immediate conversion. The need has always been to make a follow up of a gospel campaign exercise that often results in conversions, but keeping up to these multiple congregations is another challenge especially with the bad roads.
A personal profile of Eloi Tolno.
Elio Tolno was born in Fasaba, one of the villages of Gueckedou, the republic of Guinea. He grew up to become a Protestant member and later leader among others in that denomination. When we first met him during one of our evangelistic campaigns in his village, he would listen with interest and at the end give us gifts of coconuts and other fruit items, but unwilling to accept the gospel. After about 2 of such meetings we left his village for another. But his leadership role in the denomination would be the cause of another opportunity to meet and hear us in another village where he went on errands. Little did we know that Mr. Tolno had been meditating over the gospel he heard and discussing the same with his wife until one afternoon when he unexpectedly appeared on campus declaring himself as a candidate for baptism. This, we gladly accorded him on 20th October 2020 to the glory of God. Leter, brother Elio would again declare his desire for biblical training and he was 1 of 19 students for the second batch here at the Bear Valley Bible institute extension school in Gueckedou, Guinea. Since his graduation bro Elio has been very effective in evangelism and has worked hard to plant a congregation in his village.
Bro Eloi Tolno is one of our hard working team leaders among other evangelistic teams in Guinea. With the mini PA system in his care, bro Eloi is also to be remembered for his devotional preaching broadcast which he does in his village at 6 am every blessed morning. His wife and children are a strong support and encouragement to the other members of the church in his village at Fasaba..
Conclusion: Soon the fourth batch of students at the Gueckedou Bear Valley Bible lnstitute will complete the required courses for graduation. Field exercises are ongoing while classroom work continues. The radio broadcast is making a positive impact in the local community of Gueckedou and surroundings.
Souls are being converted by personal evangelism and the evangelistic teams. Two new churches were planted in April when 22 persons were initially baptized in 2 different villages.
In all, we have converted 40 souls during the month of April to the glory of God.
Thanks to you and may our God continue to bless us all.
