ACTIVITY OPERATION REPORT FOR FEBRUARY 2026

Full Time and the Extended Programs

INTRODUCTION

In January, we reported that classes resumed, the students and the staff went on an evangelistic campaign and planted a new congregation and more souls were converted. By the grace of God, February 2026 was also another remarkable month in which many good things happened at our school. A few of these good things included the conversion of souls and the establishment of new congregations, academic progress, completion of the Bear Valley program, and the continuous staff commitment.  Here is more information on the highlighted activities.

THE COMPLETION OF THE 48 BEAR VALLEY COURSES

Our main campus at Kenema operates two programs: the full time and extended. On January 15, 2022, we admitted our first set of part time students. They were fourteen, but three of them died and two dropped off in the course of time. Consequently, on February 28, 2026, nine students who held on till the end amidst many demands and other responsibilities completed their program. Also, our fourth batch of the full time students that started classes on December 15, 2023, completed their program at the end of February, 2026. Eleven of them completed and wrote their final exam.  You needed to see both the extended and full time students rejoicing (unfortunately no picture was taken due to forgetfulness) on that day, for going through the course. Many of them were rejoicing because, according to their remarks, “At Bear Valley Sierra Leone, you either shape in or shape out,” so for them to have successfully written their last exam, it required a thanksgiving and an appreciation to God.

THE CONTINUATION OF CLASSES AND NEW INTAKE

Before the full time students wrote their final exam, we had already recruited another set of full time students from last year June. Therefore, in February, while the outgoing students were rejoicing, the continuing students held on to their classes. They will be writing their exams by April for their third quarter year one. Moreover, we are set to admit another set of full time students and will be writing their entrance exams together with the new extended students on April 13, 2026, Lord willing.

EVANGELISTIC CAMPAIGN AND THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A NEW  CONGREGATION

The need to save souls in our contemporary times is so evident and pertinent as if it has never been before. One of the reasons is that many people are lost in sin to the point that if one doesn’t preach to them, they are heading for destruction. We know (KBVBI) that it is for this reason that the Bear Valley Bible Institute International benevolently brought the opportunity to us here in Sierra Leone to further carry the message of salvation to those dying souls. In light of this, the school administration, in the month of January, directed its campaign efforts to a new territory at Kpai town, Kenema District. Kpai is one of those towns inhabited by the majority Muslims (As it is the case with the whole of the Sierra Leonean society).

HOW WE WENT TO KPAI

Our attention was drawn to the Kpai community by one of our evangelistically zealous staff, James Borniea who also teams up with the Kenema evangelism team. He recently relocated to Kpai and proposed that we plant a congregation there. At his request, we planned a week-long campaign there, and we thank God that we honored that invitation.

THE FRUITS FROM THE CAMPAIGN

From February 19 – 23rd, 2026, the staff, the extended and full time students and the Kenema evangelism team embarked upon a 5-day campaign. During this period, we were intensively involved in door-to-door evangelism within the community; this was preceded by evening open air preaching and tracts distribution. At the end of the campaign, only three souls were converted. However, the team was still able to gather some prospects together who are currently worshipping at Brother James Bornea’s residence at Kpai. Consistent follow-up, visitation and regular discipleship training programs will be organized to encourage these prospects and many more to give their lives to Christ. We are hopeful and determined that with consistent follow-up; the Kpai congregation will stand strong and grow both numerically and spiritually.

THE ALUMNI UPDATE

Our graduates have been very engaged on the field as we have been updating you. They have been involved in conversions, restorations, and church planting.

Key Activities:

Visitations

Local Congregational Visits: Our graduates have been making concerted efforts to visit different congregations, to strengthen and build them up thereby encouraging spiritual and evangelical growth.

Evangelism

Evangelistic Campaigns: Several alumni groups have been organizing evangelism campaigns in their local communities. These include door knocking, open-air preaching, and community events designed to share the message of Christ in their respective places.

Seminars and Training Sessions: Various congregational and evangelistic seminars have been organized by our graduates on effective evangelism techniques, ministry involvement, etc., so as to provide scriptural insights to equip members for greater outreach.

Follow-Up Programs

There has been a consistent follow-up, regular Bible study programs, fasting and prayer sessions, mentorship schedules in order to continue to engage new converts and build up the weak brethren.

On the whole, the highlighted activities of our graduates above showcase their commitment to fellowship, evangelism, and soul winning. Through various activities, the alumni network has not only strengthened its internal community but has also made significant impacts in local congregations and communities. The ongoing spirit of unity and mission among the alumni reflects the core values instilled during their time at Bear Valley Bible Institute, ensuring the continuation of their work in spreading the gospel and serving others in faith.

SUMMARY OF CONVERSIONS FOR FEBRUARY 2026

 STUDENT’S PROFILE: Fallah Triyoh

Fallah Triyoh, 22, is a vibrant and multi-talented youth. He is a bright and promising young man with a keen intellect and desire for knowledge and evangelism. He has demonstrated good leadership skills even at this initial stage of his studies. He is the younger brother of our Academic Dean, Michael Triyoh. Brother Fallah was born on the 15th April, 2004, at Fasedu village, Kailahun district, eastern Province, Sierra Leone to Mr. Sahr Triyoh and Mrs. Sia Triyoh. He came from a polygamous family with his father marrying three wives. Fallah was last born of his mother with six siblings, four girls and two boys. His father was a blacksmith, farmer and hunter, while his mother was a farmer too. He was raised in the blacksmith shed where his father fashioned farming tools and household utensils. Occasionally, he would follow his dad to the farm as a young lad. Also, his father was an ardent animist.

Road to Christ: As stated earlier, Fallah’s dad was a follower of the African Traditional Religion (ATR). He performed ancestral worship and poured libation in front of his children regularly and when they were young, they would perform the ancient rites together. But as he began to grow older, with his mother and father separated, he began to realize that there was another way. He followed his mother to the Church of the Lord Aladura – where they too, like the animists, perform animal sacrifice and African traditional religious practices mixed with Christian elements – syncretism. Later, he suffered an injury on his leg which made him leave the Church of the Lord Aladura and went to the Free Pentecostal Church where he was attending school at the time.

At Free Pentecostal he was in the choir and sang every Sunday. But Fallah was still not comfortable. He felt a void that erroneous Christianity cannot fill. Then, one day his elder brother, Michael Sahr Triyoh, visited him in the village and encouraged him with the scriptures to leave denominational Christianity and follow the Way of the Lord. However, Bro Michael was about to travel for further studies in 2017. So, Fallah could not give his life to Christ even though bro Michael succeeded in removing him from Free Pentecostal to church of Christ.

After Bro Michael left for further studies in Nigeria, and Fallah kept attending the church of Christ in his village of Fasedu, he was still struggling with his animistic and denominational past. Giving his life to Christ became a big challenge. And so it was that, after several years of receiving preaching and bible studies that Fallah Triyoh finally accepted the gospel of Christ and got baptized on the 24th April, 2022.

Road to Bear Valley Bible Institute: Brother Falah narrated thus:

During Senior secondary school days and time in the church, I always admired the brethren who had studied at the Bear Valley Bible Institute in my area including my preacher who is also a graduate from the school. I love the way they expounded the scripture and conducted themselves in the Lord. I had dreamt of coming to Bear Valley after my WASSCE. So after I sat at my WASSCE, my brother who is the Academic Dean of the School was pleased when he learnt that I had given my life to Christ and that I wanted to come and study in the school. He sent for me to come and stay with him in the city of Kenema from the village and gave me the admission form to fill. When I completed and submitted it, I was called for the entrance examination which I passed and was interviewed. I was later told that I have been admitted.

It is interesting to mention that Fallah has not spent more than 3 quarters with us but has been going out for evangelism with the senior students. We have a lot of confidence in him that he would be a great vessel for the church around the Koindu area and the nation at large. Please keep him in your prayers for us.

UPCOMING GRADUATION

We have planned to have our 4th graduation exercise from April 16-18, 2026. If the Lord wills, we will be graduating two sets of students: full time and part time. We invite you all to be part of the convocation.

CONCLUSION

Thank you for reading this report to this point. May the Lord provide more opportunities to continue to be useful in His service! Till we come your way again in the 3rd month of the year 2026, Lord willing, stay blessed and loved by God.

Peter Sahr Makundu,
