Success from Evangelistic Campaigns in Gueckedou, Guinea
GUECKEDOU BEAR VALLEY BIBLE INSTITUTE ACTIVITY OPERATIONS REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF DECEMBER 2025
We bring you precious greetings from the Bear Valley extension school in Gueckedou, Guinea Conakry. We are grateful to Almighty God for His grace that has accompanied us throughout the 12 months of the year 2025. It is because of this goodness that we can write, and you are able to hear from us again.
This report is for the activities that transpired during the month of December, which was rather a difficult time due to the political situation; the presidential elections in Guinea. Nevertheless, with the help of God, we were able to accomplish all of our classroom lectures and some field activities of new congregations planting.
We will also give you a rather interesting briefing of the major activities of the year.
Follow with us as we unfold the details below.
Classroom:
During the month of December, we covered 3 course,s which were handled by the following staff:
1. Brother Robert Kamano - the book of Romans
2. Brother Francis Lavaley - the gospel of John
3. Brother Francis Lavaley - Comparative Studies of Religions.
Evaluations were conducted with 13 of the 14 students, and the results were good. The one student who went on a weekend break did not return as a result of illness.
Follow-up works:
As usual, our students and staff continue on regular weekend visitation to especially new and weaker congregations. There were not many new conversions except 3 at the village congregations of Baladou and Youlouadou, but the churches were strengthened. Some 15 churches all around the Gueckedou area are of this concern.
Evangelistic Teams:
Several evangelistic campaigns were conducted with some good results, but not as successful as expected. This was due not only to the usual evangelistic challenges that relate to stubborn hearts, but also to the political situation on the ground.
We faced obstacles multiple times of various sorts, such as meetings, registrations, and interruptions by general public calls to gather for political discussions. The general presidential election itself was on a Sunday, the Lord's worship day. The government had decreed that churches hold worship on the Saturday prior to the Sunday elections. Many congregations had to make adjustments of shifting the regular worship hour to some early and others late Sunday afternoon. Some did not even worship, while others had poor attendance.
So of the 6 campaigns conducted, we succeeded in 4 when the following churches were planted in these villages:
1. Kadou, Temessadou Djigbo - 18 baptized on Dec 4, 2025
2. Yaradou, Mongo District, Temessadou Djigbo - 14 baptized on Dec 5, 2025
3. Tédou, Nongoa sous-préfecture - 16 baptized on Dec 6, 2025
4. Sofedou Sandou, Nongoa sous-préfecture - 10 baptized on Dec 19, 2025.
Church Leaders Training:
The evangelistic team of Conakry completed their church leaders training program conducted during weekend days in the town of Forekaria. There were 3 of the men who completed the training, especially for their as yet small congregation at Forekaria.
Conclusion and Summaries:
The School:
There are at present 13 of the 15 students who started this batch in June of 2024.
The school, staff, and students planted 2 congregations in the year 2025, but with other follow-up works and some personal evangelism in the 2 and several other churches planted by the evangelistic teams, we baptized 255 souls.
The Evangelistic Campaigns:
There are at present 6 evangelistic teams that work with us in Guinea.
By the close of 2025, these teams planted 52 congregations and baptized 570 persons.
There were in all 4 church leaders training programs conducted, including the one at the cross-border congregation at Lola.
The total number of conversions with those who associate with us (the school, the evangelistic teams, and that of the cross-border gospel work) in Guinea for the year 2025 was 825 souls.
We thank and appreciate you all for your prayers.
We look forward to your every support for the new year of 2026.
May God bless us all!!
