GUECKEDOU BEAR VALLEY BIBLE INSTITUTE ACTIVITY OPERATIONS REPORT FOR JUNE 2025

Greetings to you, our dear supporters and friends of the Bear Valley Bible institute of Gueckedou, Guinea. As usual, we are here again to give you an update of what has taken place here during the month of June 2025.

Here are the highlights of the events.

In the classroom, the students covered Homiletics ll and 2 Corinthians. Then on the outdoor, we conducted a 1 week church leaders training and assisted  in some successful evangelistic campaigns through which new churches were planted. Here are the details.

Classroom:

The month of May ended when the students were still on lectures to complete Homiletics ll with brother Francis Lavaley. Then there was a 1 week break taken to allow our new brothers a space on the school campus for a church leaders training program. Just after that, the students came back for another longer course, Il Corinthians, which was completed by the close of June. During the 1 week break while the church leaders training went on, the students were put on assignment especially for those who needed to cover up in some courses. Evaluations went successful.

Evangelism and Follow up works:

During the month under review, there were several conversions as a result of follow up to newly planted churches and some personal evangelism.

On the 1st and 15th of June our Bear Valley student, Antoine baptised 6 and 3 persons respectively in the village congregation at Sagbeh. That same weekend, 2 Bear Valley staff visited the new congregation at Kendou Kama and baptised 17 souls. Still other conversions include 6 and 2 baptisms in 2 other congregations, Wema and Kendou Leendeh respectively on the following weekend of June 8 - again by Bear Valley staff. Finally there were still 2 other baptisms by the team leader of Ouende Kenema on the same weekend of June 8 in the new congregation at Koliguido.

The evangelistic team in Conakry led by Francis Lavaley and François Tengiano are equally working hard with follow up works in various congregations where  attendance is increasing and eventually the conversion of souls to follow soon.

The same goes for the new congregation at Lola, located some 265 klm from Gueckedou where we are keeping regular contact and working hard to improve that work.

For this month, June 2025, the total conversions of follow up works and personal evangelism amounted to 35 souls.

Church Leaders Training: 

For a week long, the campus was occupied by some 22 men from various congregations recently planted around Gueckedou by both the evangelistic teams along with the students and staff.

In recent months and since our last church leaders training last September, we have registered over 25 new churches for which we organised a training for the men to sustain those churches. From the 9th of June, some 22 men attended a one week intensive training to keep up with their congregations 

During this period, we covered the basics of the Church, Worship and the Testaments (Old & New). We also Studied on the preparation and delivery of Bible lessons. Each day, we will start early in the morning by 8 am and off by 6 pm taking a break period of 30 - 45 minutes. 

Also, 1 of our graduates, Alain and student Alphonse were often with the men during the night hours helping them in areas needing more discussions.

The sentiments of the men was one of satisfaction, and being uplifted in spirit, they returned to serve their churches.

Since then, we have received encouraging reports of some even now taking part in the evangelistic campaigns with the men who converted them.

Evangelistic Teams:

Even though the Bear Valley students and staff often do and cooperate with other efforts to enhance the gospel work around us, there are nevertheless special evangelistic teams on the ground whose work is especially to evangelise lost souls by which new churches are planted.

Every month, we have reported the work of these teams which are spread out in the country but especially in the Gueckedou area where the institute is located. Below is the outcome of their work for the month of June 2025. We are now in the rainy season and the work is difficult also because of the bad roads and other disadvantages of the season. The Conakry team for instance is making great effort to explore new grounds while at the same time making follow up work. By the grace of God soon there will be an increase.

We were not able to do as much as last month because of the difficult season. Nevertheless, we did plant some 7 new churches when:

A. 3 souls obeyed Christ in the village of Kendou Leendeh on 1st of June.

B. 10 persons received baptism in the village of Woima on the 5th of June.

C. 24 men and women were baptised in the village of Dembadou on the same date of June 5.

D. 6 persons obeyed Christ in the village of Sofedou-bufa on the 8th of June.

E. 13 persons were baptised in the village of N'kombadou on 23rd June.

F. 9 men and women were baptised in the village of Dandou of Koundou Lengobengou on 27th of June.

G. 5 souls obeyed Christ in the village of Kamadou of Gbolodou sous-préfecture on June 29.

As we can see, apart from other conversions, the evangelistic teams alone have planted 7 churches when in total  70 persons obeyed Christ in baptism.

Conclusion:

As a result of your support, prayers and encouragement, the Gueckedou Bear Valley Bible institute is keeping up with training. We are also grateful for the practical exercise of preaching and evangelism and the work of the evangelistic teams. Putting all the preaching efforts together with the result of follow up works in June, we have converted 105 persons.

ACTIVITY OPERATION REPORT FOR JUNE 2025

Full Time and the Extended Program

INTRODUCTION

With excitement, we want to continually be thankful to God for yet another opportunity to share with you the report of the Bear Valley Bible Institute Sierra Leone for the past month of June, 2025. With the good things that are happening here, we are very convinced that your (all who pray for us, financially share with us, read our reports, visit us, and consistently wish us well) prayers and our little efforts, coupled up with the biggest factor- God’s help, are the foundation. Therefore, we hold all these with high esteem. In June, 2025, a very successful evangelistic campaign was conducted by the school, the academic activities continued uninterrupted, souls were converted, the graduates and the evangelistic teams on the field persisted in building up local congregations and converting souls.  In addition, we had two firsts: first admission of international students and the first admission of another set in the full time program when the current set is still in session. These first things that happened have a lasting positive impact on the church in Gambia where the international students come from and the church in Sierra Leone. While you think on the validity of this statement, more information on this will be supplied later in this report. Please may you be encouraged to keep on reading while we give you more information on the above highlighted activities.

STUDENTS UPDATE

Our 13 full time and 10 part time students held on firmly with their academic and evangelistic activities. Nothing happened to any of them and gratefully, they are all intact.

EVANGELISTIC CAMPAIGN AND CONVERSION OF SOULS

The administration of Kenema Bear Valley Bible Institute acknowledges the dire need of the Gospel to be preached to the dying souls; hence her effort is always directed to evangelistic campaigns. The month of June, 2025 was not an exemption. Our evangelism was directed to the southern part of Sierra Leone, specifically, Taiama Town. This is not the first time that we have directed our campaign to Taiama. Three years ago, in April 2022, we carried out a very successful campaign there in which 23 souls were converted, 12 brethren were restored and the Taiama Church of Christ was restored back to its usefulness before the Lord.  More information is given about the territory of Taiama and the Taiama Church of Christ in our April 2022 report. We would encourage you to please go over or if you have not read it, to please go and read it at our website (www.wetrainpreachers.com). Therefore, just like in April 2022, this year again in June, we decided to launch another campaign at Taiama at the invitation of one of our graduates, Sheku Pessima who serves as the preacher at the congregation. This campaign took place between June 11 – 15, 2025. At the end of the campaign, five souls were converted and five brethren were restored. Apart from the conversions resulting from the campaign, we had three more from our weekly outings, eight from the alumni efforts and nineteen from the evangelistic teams’ efforts. So in total, we had thirty five souls being converted and five brethren being restored.  

NEW INTAKE, ENTRANCE EXAM AND INTERVIEW

Because of the dire need for vigorous evangelism in West Africa and for more committed workers in the Lord’s vineyard in Sierra Leone and beyond, our school administration engaged our coordinator, Steven Ashcraft to have another intake though the current final year students are yet in session. For some months or even a year we had been discussing this. Our coordinator, who himself is so evangelistic, accepted the proposal and in fact, extended the discussion to international level.  He has been evangelistically working in Gambia, Guinea-Bissau and Senegal, just like he has been doing in many other West African nations. So we explored the possibility of bringing committed brethren from Guinea, Bissau, and Gambia to Sierra Leone in order that after their studies, they would go back and claim many souls for Christ. Fortunately for this first adventure, 3 Gambian brethren arrived in Sierra Leone and joined the local students to take the entrance exams. Eventually, on June 26, twenty students wrote the exams and were interviewed. All of them were found worthy and were admitted. It is true that sometimes it can be very difficult to get brethren in the church of Christ who want to add to their knowledge in the Scripture, who would subsequently be committed to evangelism. Yet the Lord keeps on blessing us with students, coupled up with the great efforts of our staff, local congregations and our graduates. Brethren, this new update of a new class truly will be rewarding for the growth of the church in Sierra Leone and Gambia. The fact is, as you get more committed and trained brethren in the local congregations and on the field, there is a high tendency that the congregations will grow both qualitatively and quantitatively. And as our school is heavily focused on evangelism, anyone who passes here MUST be pushed toward evangelism. So where you have 10 graduates, for instance, 8 or 9 must be zealous for evangelism and spiritual matters. If this continues, in the future, many souls will be won and many brethren will grow to maturity. Of course we are not saying that we do not desire to grow from this level that we are as a school. We want our students to acquire high learning skills to handle the Scriptures and share it with others thereby converting them. Meanwhile, we are grateful to God and to the Bear Valley family for what we have yet. The Diploma that we are offering yet is well appreciated!

 UNIQUE ALUMNI UPDATES

As you have been updated from our previous reports, our graduates are making some great efforts on the field. Holistically, they have been involved in the following:

·        Evangelism

·        Visitation / follow-up

·        Organization of Church programs

·        Edification etc.

We have brought a list of some of them here for the first time with brief descriptions of their individual activities in their localities. Please patiently read on to at least have a little picture of how our graduates are working. This is not an exhaustive list, but it will give you some sort of idea of the graduates’ activities.

Sheku Pessima: Brother Pessimia lives in the southern part of Sierra Leone and serves as the pulpit preacher at Taiama Church of Christ. His little “tent making” is plumbing and uses it to survive economically, especially as his congregation is in the village and almost all of the members are poor peasant farmers. With all this, yet Brother Sheku makes a lot of efforts at his congregation and beyond.

Hassan Fallah: Hassan lives in the Freetown capital and serves the congregation at the Hastings as her Assistant Preacher, Evangelism coordinator and the youth minister. This brother is one of those active members of the evangelism team in Freetown. His work extends to other local congregations around Freetown.

John Fambuleh: Brother John works in the far interior of Kenema District where he serves as the preacher at Tongie Church of Christ. This brother helped in establishing two more congregations around his locality. The road to where he lives is very bad, that is why he does not get visits from us, yet he remains focused and we are connected through communication. He many times complains of inadequate manpower and mobility for visiting the local congregations that he planted and some areas where he plans to plant more congregations.   

Jonah Momoh Lansana: Jonah and his family live in Kailahun town, the District Headquarter. He preaches for the Kulula congregation.  He is one of the committed members of the evangelistic team in Kailahun. Brother Jonah helps to organize other preachers in the Kailahun District. He is engaged in subsistence farming to survive with his family.

Alex Bockarie: Alex is one of our six graduates from Kono District in the eastern part of Sierra Leone. Out of our six graduates, three (Emmanuel Ansumana, Alex Bockarie and Maxwell Temundor) are living in Koidu town, the headquarters of the District. Alex is one of those living in Kono District. He and Emmanuel are extensively involved in the youth ministry in the District. Brother Alex serves as the assistant preacher at the Koeyor congregation in Koidu town. Because of his engagement with the evangelistic team, he does usually worship outside of his local congregation.   

Emmanuel S. Ansumana: Emmanuel lives in Kono and joins forces with Alex to push the Lord’s work there. This brother’s influence has spread all over Kono; he is a young man with a serious focus on the Lord. Emmanuel, just like many of the graduates comes from a very poor background and sometimes this weighs so much on his needs. But he never allows anything to affect him or his commitment unto the Lord. He is greatly involved in the evangelistic work across the District and preaches for a new village congregation at Daama.

Fatorma Kamara: Brother Fatorma is one of the six graduates from Kono (we have 4 in training currently again) who lives outside of Kono currently, though goes there during holidays. He lives in the south, at Bo specifically. He is furthering his education at one of the Colleges in Bo, Njala. But at Bo, Fatorma’s involvement in the work at McRobert Street Church of Christ is worthy of notice.  

Patrick Manga: Patrick is also from Kono but lives in Freetown. He went there to learn a skill (plumbing). Just like Fatorma, Patrick is making a lot of impacts at Freetown. Currently, he is the youth minister at Thunder Hill Church of Christ and he is one of the very effective members of the evangelism team in Freetown. He cooperates with other congregations to promote the interest of God. Sometimes when his colleagues at Kono plan spiritual programs, he goes and joins them (the distance from Freetown to Kono is around 270 miles) and afterwards, returns. Though a member of the Thunder Hill congregation still goes to the new congregation at Zara Drive to help build up the new Christians from time to time..

Steven Ansumana: Steven, like Patrick is from Kono but also lives in Freetown currently. He also went there to learn a skill. He is also very active at the Trade Center congregation in Freetown. His work and Patrick’s overlap in the ministry and they are blending well.

Justine Chokpelleh Jr: Justine is our graduate from Freetown. His father is the preacher at Trade Center Church of Christ in Freetown. Prior to his graduation from the Bible school, he worshipped with his parents at Trade Center. Upon his graduation, some of the preachers around Freetown  who had begun a mission work at Lungi Airport (known now as Freetown International Airport) where they had established a congregation and had died, approached him whether he could relocate to Lungi to restore the congregation. Justine agreed and relocated to Lungi. Before agreeing, he contacted some of our staff and he was encouraged to take up the work. So while taking care of the Lungi congregation, Justine cooperates with the evangelistic team in Freetown as well as the school here in Kenema. Upon his invitation, the school carried out a very successful campaign at Lungi.  

Peter Focko: Peter is one of our nine graduates from Koindu, the home town of the school director, Peter Sahr Makundu and the academic dean, Michael Triyoh. Though Peter hails from Koindu, yet resides presently at Njala, Bo. He is there studying Agriculture at Njala University. While in Njala, Peter helps to coordinate the evangelistic activities of the Mokonde congregation. Currently, the lead preacher is sick, so Peter is the one in charge as an interim preacher.  

Joseph Focko: Joseph is our graduate from Koindu. He lives there and is heavily involved in evangelism. He assists the preacher at the Kusedu congregation. He is also involved in the Mission work in Liberia.  

Tamba Cyprien: Brother Cyprien is a Guinean who relocated to Koindu, Sierra Leone before being trained at the Bible school. Upon his graduation, he went back to Koindu and dwelt there. He serves the congregation at Yengema as her evangelism coordinator. Cyprien is highly also involved in the development and growth of the congregation at the Yengema new congregation and other congregations around. He actively participates in the evangelistic team activities.

Fayia Nyuma: Brother Fayia, just like Cyprien, is a native of Koindu who works and lives there.  While he was with us, he was selected as the Students’ Body Leader. Because of his love for God, even after graduation, he continues to show his dedication to the service of our Lord. That is why he preaches for the new Kpayeh congregation which he together with other brethren helped to plant. He greatly helps to coordinate the affairs of the youths around Koindu and environs.   

Nelson Koroma: Nelson works and lives around Koindu and preaches for the Fasedu congregation in the village. His wife helps him greatly in the ministry by being so much involved in the women ministry as well. This fine Christian couple is truly contributing to the growth of the Church around Koindu.

Eric Turay: Brother Eric as well works and lives around Koindu and assists the  preacher at the Komendeh congregation.  Just like Nelson and others, he is heavily involved in evangelism and cooperates with other local congregations for the advancement of the Gospel.

Romeo Ngainda: Romeo is also an indigene of Koindu who takes care of the congregation at Fandu. He is also a very active member of one of the evangelistic teams in Koindu. Moreover, Brother Romeo teams up with other graduates around Koindu to help initiate and coordinate spiritual programs of the congregations around Koindu.  

Victor Sahr Moore: Brother Victor is another graduate from the Koindu community, specifically Dia, who assists the preacher at the Dia congregation. He is one important figure at the congregation and beyond.

Patrick Ngagba: Patrick is one of those brethren whose story looks similar to that of Abraham in the Bible who left his home town by the leading of the Lord to go and live in another community. He originally hails from Fasedu, a village around the Koindu community but relocated to Buedu, another Kissi town where the Church had been established but lacked a preacher. The Kissi tribe in the three countries (Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia) is known for its dedication to the service of our Lord. It is no surprise that Brother Patrick chose to relocate to Buedu to lead the congregation. Brother Patrick’s presence in Buedu has witnessed a tremendous growth of the congregation and has led to the establishment of another congregation at Baoma. Our brother is ever ready to work for the Lord!

Jacob James: Brother Jacob is our graduate from Dia who assists the preacher at the Dia congregation.

Sahr Essah: Essah is our graduate from the Fasedu congregation where he and his brother, Nelson Koroma, another graduate join hands for the growth of the Fasedu congregation and beyond.    

Joseph Missailie Jr: Joseph is our Dean of Students as well as the preacher of the Burma III congregation in the Kenema Township. This tells of his total commitment to the Lord. As a member of our school team, it is already established that he is involved in many spiritual activities ranging from mission work, teaching in class, cooperating with other local congregations, pushing others to be more involved in the Lord’s work, etc.  

Abu Missailie: Brother Abu is one of the younger brothers of Joseph. Just like his brother, Abu is so much focused on the Lord. He assists the preacher at the Kamanda Street Church of Christ in Kenema. He also leads songs and helps to coordinate the evangelistic activities of the congregation.

Andrew Katter: Andrew is one of those graduates whom upon graduation selected a mission field to work. He lives in Kenema town but travels to Panguma (some 44 miles away from Kenema) every week for evangelism and to take care of the Lord’s Church there. He has been doing this for many years. At Kenema, he is fully involved in the organization of the youths.

Peter Alfred: Brother Peter assists the preacher at Tungie congregation in Kenema District. He teams up with John Fambuleh, another graduate to build up the Tongie congregation.

James Ndoinjeh: James originally comes from the same Tongie congregation as Peter and John but relocated to Freetown. He currently attends the Regent Church of Christ in Freetown.

Amara Saffa: Brother Amara comes from Kailahun Town but relocated to Jengbellu village to take care of the congregation there. At Jengbellu, he also teaches at the village primary school- the medium through which he also uses to share the Gospel. He actively cooperates with other preachers in the District for the spread of the Gospel.

Bockarie Jusu: Bockarie is another of our seven graduates from the Kailahun Township who leads the congregation at Gbalahun.  He also cooperates with other preachers from other places, meeting together for planning programs. At his congregation, he does effective evangelism.

John Sengbeh: Brother John, a graduate from Kailahun also teams up with other graduates like Momoh Jonah Lansana, Morie Lahai and Tamba Yambasu to pilot the affairs of the congregation at Kulula.    

STUDENT’S AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Daniel Munda

Daniel Munda is a fine young man, who is one of our dedicated students in the final year. He was born on the 4th May, 2004 at the Police Barracks, Kenema District, Eastern Region, Sierra Leone. He is the first of the three children of Finda and Hopender Munda. He and his siblings were raised by their mother when their father died. Daniel grew up in a Muslim home and was introduced to Islam at a tender age. But interestingly, through God’s providence, in 2021, Brother Peter Sahr Makundu went on evangelism and preached to him and his mother. It was in that year that he and his mother were baptized on the same day. Before his baptism, they could call him, Abdulai, the Islamic name that Brother Peter was not comfortable with. Therefore after his conversion, Brother Peter encouraged him and his mother to change his name to Daniel Munda. They both accepted and till today, his name remains Daniel. Brother Daniel registered a speedy growth in his Christian faith; he quickly developed interest for evangelism, song leading and some other aspects of worship. With these developments, he was selected as the song leader and the secretary at the Campus Church of Christ in Kenema where he attends. He is also one of those youths that help to coordinate the affairs of the other youths in Kenema Town. After his secondary school in 2022, he was enrolled at the Bear Valley where he is expected to complete his program by early next year, Lord willing. All in all, we are glad to have a student like Daniel!

APPRECIATION

We want to continue to express our gratitude to this God-loving team of great Brothers Steve Ashcraft, Keith Kasarjian and Mark Reynolds and all the Bear Valley family worldwide, for supporting us again to have admitted another set of students. Brothers, may God continue to uphold you with His mighty hand for what you are doing for the Church in Sierra Leone. In like manner, the Bear Valley administration in Sierra Leone is very grateful to Brother Francis Musa, the Director of Studies in Guinea, for the vision that he had some years ago to have sent us to Nigeria to study God’s word. We are doing whatever little today in the Lord’s vineyard because of His selflessness manifested in us. He and the Niceville congregation in the USA continue to be held dear!

CONCLUSION

In brief, the Bear Valley Administration and the Lord’s Church in Sierra Leone continue to show appreciation to you all for reading, praying for us and for sharing your resources with us so that we can continue to do what we are doing. Reporting Letter for the month of June-2025

Respected Director Mr. Keith Kasarjian, our coordinator Mr. Mark Reynolds and all the prayer partners, greetings to you in the matchless name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We pray that this letter may serve us to find you well, We thank you very much for your continual prayers  and encouragement. We would like to submit a brief report for the month of June-2025.

1.    Academic activities : We humbly report that classes are continuing smoothly for the current academic year with full attendance . These are the courses taught in the month of June- Christian evidence, Genesis, Numbers and  How we got the Bible .

2.    Guest teacher: we have invited Mr. James as a guest teacher for the month of June. He taught how to read the epistles .

3.    Campaigning :  In the month of June we conducted campaigning at a Tribal colony , nearby Vidyanagar Village. We used a projector to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. The follow up Bible studies are being planned for the new contacts.

4.    Special events :-

Restored one local church:- Restored one local congregation at Chennareddicolony , Tirupati.

House meetings:- We have started weekly once house meetings and involve the students for the practical work.

Youth activities :- We have started meeting the youth and focusing to teach the Christian values, leadership and relationship.

Visiting Mumbai church of christ:- we visited Mumbai church of christ and encouraged the local preachers and family members and members.

Zoom Bible study:- we started an online Bible study , we have completed the books of Acts, prison epistles, 1&2 Timothy , General epistles, book of Revelation and began the book of Romans.

Baptism:- one soul was baptized in the month of June. Please pray for her spiritual growth.

Voice of truth magzines distribution:- We requested and received Voice of Truth magazines for the students. They enjoyed reading the articles for their spiritual growth.

5.   Benevolence:-    

Free medical camp (eye camp:-we have identified Jangalapalli Village , Tirupati district , Andhra Pradesh-state, India.  We consulted the local eye care hospital and conducted the camp on June 21st, 2025. We checked 59 patients and 23 patients were diagnosed for cataract surgery .  We referred them to one of the NGO to help for free treatment.

Freely distributed slates:- We distributed slates for the tribal children at Kottapallem Village to encourage the children to develop the literacy among the tribal children.  Our local people given donations for this activity.

Feed the Hungery: In the month of June we conducted feed the hunger program at Unuguntapallem-Village. Our local people given donations for this activity.

FREETOWN EXTENSION PROGRAM

QUARTERLY OPERATION REPORT FROM APRIL - JUNE, 2025

INTRODUCTION

As a record of consistent progress, we were favored by God again this year through the generosity of our committed coordinator, Steve Ashcraft, our International Director, Keith Kasarjian and our Assistant Director, Mark Reynolds, and the whole of Bear Valley family in Colorado to have begun a much-needed extended program at Freetown. This program is so helpful that the students keep on appreciating the local administration and the international partners on a daily basis, especially as it is igniting an evangelistic zeal in them and helping them to serve God better within and outside their local congregations. Not just the students, but the local congregations around Freetown are so grateful for the presence of the school. From April to June, 2025, the academic activities continued, the students continued to be involved with the local congregations, and some considerable souls were converted. Here are some more details:

STUDENTS’ ACADEMIC UPDATES

Our Freetown extended students are thriving well. From February when they started classes, they will be completing their first quarter at the end of July. Currently, we have sixteen of them in the program. Out of the sixteen, only two are females.

STUDENTS’ ASSIGNMENTS

Since the school is rooted and based its foundation on evangelism, our students are positioned to have this understanding. Therefore, almost all of them are involved in evangelism in their local congregations and with the evangelistic team in Freetown. Every month, they are to give an overview of the various activities that they carry in their local congregations and beyond. And this has been yielding some good fruits. For instance, Simon Peter (the students’ leader), Momoh Turay, Emmanuel Kargbo, Foday Kanu, Abu Kargbo, Alfred Kargbo, Daniel Mansaray, Michael Ballah, Thomas William, etc all actively lead their local congregations and are involved in plenty spiritual activities in their congregations.

STAFF’S ACTIVITIES

Our staff at Kenema are truly working harder. Each month, a staff travels from Kenema to Freetown each week to teach our students. This is especially needed now because there are no good Bible teachers currently around Freetown that one could involve in taking classes. Moreover, many people are not evangelistic and we appreciate a teacher who himself is evangelistic and can motivate our students in the class to be more evangelistic. So with this set up, our few staff are always busy, especially with the Kenema full time and part time programs also. But this is not all, the presence of a staff in Freetown every week is not to just take classes in the school, but to also help build local congregations around Freetown. Each week, after the class on Saturday, he worships with a congregation on Sunday before returning to Kenema (over 200 miles away from Freetown) later that Sunday. Sometimes it is challenging but it is rewarding! Brother Peter Sahr Makundu took the lead in this endeavor by attending the Regent Church of Christ for the past months. After him, Brothers Michael and David also followed. The Regent congregation had existed for 50 years and yet did not understand the difference between denominationalism and Christianity. The members included many denominational practices (choirs, clapping and dancing, unscriptural means of raising funds, belief in miracles, tongues, anointing oil, etc) in their worship.  Therefore, Brother Peter took some time to teach the congregation on doctrinal sin that the congregation never thought was a problem. With his engagement in that congregation, many erroneous practices have been identified and exposed. The congregants are very grateful to God for using Brother Peter to have opened their eyes. Please join us to pray that they continue to hold unto sound doctrine.

EVANGELISM AND CONVERSION OF SOULS

As previously said, our students are actively involved in evangelistic activities. So for the past three months, they converted nine souls and organized three congregational lectureships of youths, general and women. They continued to follow up on some new congregations planted and the new studies established. Hopefully, there will be more conversions in the future!

CONCLUSION

We are grateful to God that our students continue to make significant strides in their academic and extra-curricular activities. We are even hopeful that God through them will record many successes in the ministry as they continue in their Christian journey. Thank you for reading this report to this point. Harvesting souls and crops in Gweru, Zimbabwe

                                    BVBIZ JULY NARRATIVE REPORT

INTRODUCTION

The Great Commission continues to echo in the hearts of His workers. At BVBIZ, every effort is made to thoroughly equip students for this mission through various initiatives. In June, classes progressed smoothly, weekend evangelism remained active, and practical life survival skills training continued. Meanwhile, the school received a timely donation that boosted its evangelistic outreach. These developments and more are detailed below:

1.0 CLASS PROGRESS

As of 30 June, all subjects for the term—except Advanced Homiletics—had been taught and completed. The subjects covered included Church Leadership, Christian Spiritual Formation, Marriage and Family Development, Greek II, Research Methods, 1–3 John, and Church History. Students have already begun working on research projects, which are a graduation requirement. Deep appreciation goes to both teachers and students for their commitment to a successful term.

2.0 DONATION OF PA SYSTEM

The need for a Public Address (PA) system had long been one of the school's key challenges, affecting the impact of campaigns and practicum. Pact Missionaries generously stepped in and donated a powerful, portable PA system. This significant contribution was well received by the entire BVBIZ community. Coincidentally, students were learning Advanced Homiletics at the time and were immediately trained in the practical use of the system in preaching and worship services. This addition will greatly enhance open-air preaching during campaigns. We extend heartfelt thanks to Pact Missionaries for their meaningful support.

3.0 PROJECTS

Our gardens continue to produce a fair yield. The crops currently grown include tomatoes, rape, covo, cabbages, lettuce, onions, broccoli, cauliflower, peas, butternuts, cucumbers, carrots, maize, and green peppers. Some of the produce is designated for student consumption. Beyond nutritional value and a modest income boost for the school, these projects also offer students’ essential hands-on training in life survival skills.

Challenges persist, particularly with monkeys and birds preying on crops, undermining some of the school’s efforts. However, greenhouse crops remain secure. With time and additional resources, the establishment of one or two more greenhouses would greatly support project viability.

Our goat population stands at 11, serving as a valuable source of meat for students. Due to lack of funds to purchase a bull, the cattle herd remains stagnant at three. The broiler project has been scaled down due to the current cold season. Any surplus income from these projects has been allocated to the construction of classroom and office blocks.

4.0 UPCOMING PREACHERS’ RETREAT AND AGM

From 14 to 17 October, BVBIZ will host its annual Preachers’ Retreat—an event open to all active field preachers. The program aims to rejuvenate and re-empower those ministering in the field. On the 18th of  October, the school will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM). All stakeholders are invited to this key meeting to deliberate on institutional matters. 5.0 WEEKEND EVANGELISM

Weekend evangelism remains a cornerstone of the school’s programming. It provides students with opportunities to serve in various capacities such as evangelism, preaching, teaching, song leading, presiding over the Lord’s Supper, counselling, and organizing worship services. Since January, the following congregations have benefitted; Plasworth, Nashville, Kwekwe, and Shurugwi.

6.0 FIELD PROGRAM

The first field practicum for the 2024–2026 intake will begin on 14 July. This is a vital opportunity for students to apply their classroom knowledge in practical settings, while learning from experienced field preachers.

Preceding the practicum, two evangelism campaigns will run from 6 to 13 July. These campaigns are held each term. In March, two were conducted—one in Plumtree and another in Plasworth, Gweru. This time, half of the students will serve at Mutora Growth Point in Nembudziya, Gokwe North, while the other half will be stationed in Mazowe, Mashonaland Central. After the campaigns, students will immediately proceed to their assigned congregations for their internship.

CONCLUSION

We offer sincere gratitude to God for guiding us this far and enabling us to prepare our students with the skills and competencies required for ministry. Class sessions continued successfully, and the donation of a PA system from Pact Missionaries came at the perfect moment. We are deeply thankful to our partners for their tireless support of this mission. The next report will highlight the activities and experiences of our students in the field.

Second Quarter Report – 2025

Courses Covered

The second quarter of the 2025 academic year ran from Friday, April 4 to Saturday, June 28. During this period, the campus successfully covered three core biblical courses:

• The Major Prophets

• The Minor Prophets

• Church History

These courses focused on deepening students' understanding of the role of prophets in God's mission to save mankind and the historical development of the church.

Student Participation

Once again, the quarter began with strong enthusiasm. However, there was a noticeable decline in student attendance during the month of June.

On average, eight (8) students attended each session, maintaining a consistent level of commitment despite the slight drop in numbers.

House-to-House Evangelism

Although no large-scale evangelism event was held this quarter, Students, together with their director, participated in supporting congregations at Gomoa Asebu-Pomadze, Awutu Breku Twiime, Santor Central, North Atomic, and Boi Their involvement included teaching, strengthening the local congregations, and participating in evangelism efforts.

After Sunday worship, they actively joined local members in house-to-house evangelism.

We thank God for two baptisms recorded this quarter:

• One at Boi Church of Christ

• One at Santor Central

We continue to pray for more souls to be added to the Lord’s kingdom.

Church Planting Initiative – 2025

This year’s church planting program remains a top priority. However, one of the major challenges we continue to face is identifying a preacher who can take full responsibility for leading the newly planted congregation. Preparations are ongoing as we shift our focus once again to the Central Region.

Recently, we met with a preacher who expressed interest in taking up this role. Although the discussions are still in progress, we are praying that he will respond positively to the call and be ready to help plant the church in the third quarter, God willing.

Based on past experience, when a new congregation is left solely in the care of a student preacher, the work tends to grow more slowly compared to when a full-time or permanent preacher is assigned. Although our students are well-trained—having completed nearly four years of intensive biblical and ministry preparation—they remain under the leadership of their home congregations, and this sometimes do not allow the students to work independently.

We continue to pray that, by the end of the year, the Lord will provide a spiritually mature and committed preacher possibly from among the Bear Valley students who will embrace this leadership responsibility.  

Major Upcoming Events

The major events planned for the third quarter include the Lectureship and the Church Planting Program, God willing. These activities are designed to focus on winning souls for Christ and further equipping our students for the important work that lies ahead.

Conclusion

The second quarter of 2025 marked steady progress in both academic training and small-scale field evangelism. As we move forward, we remain committed to equipping our students for faithful service through sound biblical instruction, practical outreach, and church planting efforts.

 MONTHLY REPORT – JUNE

The Southern Institute of Biblical Studies (SIBS) has experienced a productive quarter marked by significant staff meetings, engaging class activities, impactful radio preaching, and market outreach initiatives. Additionally, we come together in remembrance and celebration of the life of Brother Emmanuel Amoo Yaw Gyimah, whose contributions to our community will be profoundly missed. This report outlines our key activities and developments over the past Month.

TOP RADIO PREACHING PROGRAM 

The radio preaching segment has continued to expand its reach, providing biblical teachings to both our local community and a broader audience. This quarter, our radio program is still addressing The New Testaments Church, specifically on the unity of the New Testament Church which have resonated well with listeners. A series of live call-in shows was coordinated, allowing listeners to ask questions and engage with our preachers directly, as a result increased in listener’s feedback and engagement through social media.

THURSDAYS MARKET PREACHING AT AMASAMAN 

Our market preaching initiative has seen a remarkable increase in participation from both students and staff. These outreach programs have been effective in spreading the Gospel and engaging with the community including drivers and traders on Thursdays at Amasaman.

Students reported positive interactions and opportunities to share their faith.

Follow-up programs established to encourage continued engagement with those who expressed interest in learning more about our ministry.

STAFF MEETING 

This report summarizes the discussions and decisions made during the recent quarterly staff meeting held to address various important topics impacting our school community. The agenda included the interview of new students, visitation to staff who are sick, updates on the school building project and our preparation to move to the school site by the close of the year. 

Currently the school has in total of 14 students.

CLASS ACTIVITIES 

Monday:  

Amoo-Gyimah led engaging discussions on key themes within Romans, focusing on justification, grace, and faith. 

Tuesday

 Information Communication and Technology

Bro. Samuel Sasu lead the class to explore the intersection of technology and communication in today’s world from 8:00 am to 10:30 am. This course covers essential digital tools for and the basic knowledge on functions of computer and the ethical implications of technology in ministry. He used interactive elements like Hands-On Workshops, group discussions and practical sessions where they used various software and tools.

1 & 2 Peter:

John Acquah explored the historical context and theological implications of these epistles, encouraging critical thinking and application to contemporary issues from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm every Tuesday 

Wednesday: 

E.O. Larbi continued to inspire students with lessons on servant leadership and ethical decision-making in ministry contexts.

Thursday:

 E.O. Larbi provided insights into the relevance of the Minor Prophets for today’s church, fostering lively debates. Attendance has been consistent, averaging 96%.

Friday:

Samuel Papa Woode conducted thorough lessons in New Testament Greek, focusing on grammar and translation skills. Students have shown a keen interest in the subject, with average Attendance

Short Courses 

Throughout this quarter, two significant short courses were taught: 

Communication Skills

Bro. George Osafo lead the class and emphasized on the practical applications of effective communication in ministry, with interactive exercises enhancing student participation.

The epistle of James 

Brother Ebenezer Amoasi lead the class to dive deep into the practical wisdom found in the Book of James. This course emphasizes faith in action, discussing themes such as perseverance, the importance of works, and the power of the tongue.

Funeral Announcement

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brother Emmanuel Amoo Yaw Gyimah, a beloved member of our community. Brother Emmanuel was not only a dedicated instructor but also a passionate preacher and an inspiration to many. He was the first administrator and one of the pioneer instructors since the inception of this school.

His funeral service will be held on 30th August, 2025 at Suhum in the Eastern region.

CONCLUSION 

This quarter has been a time of growth, reflection, and community engagement at the Southern Institute of Biblical Studies. Our staff and students have demonstrated resilience and dedication to their spiritual and academic missions. As we move forward, we remain committed to enhancing our programs and honoring the legacy of Brother Emmanuel Amoo Yaw Gyimah by continuing to spread the Gospel and support one another in our ministry efforts.

Baptisms and restorations in Luanshya, Zambia

JUNE 2025

INTRODUCTION

Dear brothers and sisters in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we send hearty greetings to you and wish you the best of this year in Him. As we send this report we remember the words of the Psalmist; “Posterity will serve him; future generation will be told about the Lord. They will proclaim His righteousness to a people yet unborn for he has done it” Psalm 22:30, 31. Indeed for the gospel to spread and the Lord’s Church to grow, God needs the right kind of men who are faithful, teachable, men who will teach and willing to serve the Lord. We are so happy that we are part of His plan as we labor together in His Vineyard.

The following spiritual life building activities took place at BVBI-Zambia and the Church at large in Zambia in the month of June.

Wedding bells

Our former student brother Jally Siawaza and Tamara Namonje were married at Church of Christ in Mikomfwa by Brother Fred Kanangu on 28th June. They now live and worship in Kitwe District at Church of Christ in Kanfinsa. Jally is still working there as a preacher and the work is going on well.

Eleven members from Kitwe came to offer moral and financial support to him. We continue to praise Yahweh as our own trained men continue to uphold the standard taught to them and becoming good examples in the Lord’s Church and community at large.

Short break

Our School in on a short break and we are resuming classes in the first week of July. All our students have gone home except the two. Everyone was given a special assignment to perform during this short break. And we are constantly in touch with them and we have received good report mostly from the Leadership from their home congregations, they are actively involved in evangelism and visitation

We also have good news from one of our married student Trust Siamachila who has been blessed with a newborn baby.

Church of Christ at Prison Luanshya

We have been given permission to preach at Prison in Luanshya and in the month of June the work has been very encouraging. The first time the message was presented to prisoners we recorded Ten (10) baptisms and the second time the message was presented we have recorded twenty five baptisms. It is praise worthy thing that we now have a congregation at prison in Luanshya District

We believe life begins to change to our brothers and sisters who are still in prison and we just hope and expect better behavior to follow them when they will be out of prison. Most of them are still serving their 5 years sentence

Borehole dug in three places

We have reached in the remotest part of our 3 districts in the villages where we normally preach the gospel, but this time we did not just preach the word to them, we also helped them to have access to clean water through Healing Hand International. While the population in these villages is increasing, we made sure that these boreholes were dug at premises where members of the church of Christ meet.

We have witnessed a great jubilation among brothers and sisters and the communities at large. These have been a follow up in places where we have established the Lord’s Church namely at Chibwe, Kasongo and Mitondo all three of the copper-belt province

Baptisms and Restorations

We have recorded thirty five (35) baptisms, and 2 of our current students (Elvis and Lenard) reached as far as Nakonde and Mbala, worked with two of our former students (Ishmael and Levy) and we recorded eight (8) baptisms in Northern Province.  And five (5) baptisms were recorded from Lusaka Province through our Alumni Richard, Simon and Daniel. We have also recorded thirteen (13) in Southern province where 4 of our Alumni and 3 of our current students worked together and one (1) from Lupula province.

We have also recorded three (3) restorations from Mporokoso through Ishmael and Mike Kanyangala Mporokoso is in Northern part of Zambia. We also recorded 7 restorations through Aclay Kabaya and Clive Kabika our former students. In Luanshya district we have recorded 6 restorations from Mikomfwa when our students reached out for visitation program.

We have recorded a total number of sixty one (61) baptisms and a total number of sixteen (16) restorations for the month of June.

Conclusion

We continue to be so grateful to all our partners in this ministry of training these faithful men and creating the room for Church growth in Zambia. We continue to praise Yahweh for Bear Valley Bible Institute Internationally for the opportunity for us to be part of this great family in Zambia, may God bless all our leaders and may our God continue to bless Woodland Oaks Church of Chris for their commitment in supporting this work.

Water in Malawi!

Hello, everyone!

It is with great honor to send you this report for April and May 2025. I hope you are all doing well. Before we talk much about what has happened, we want to express our gratitude to all of you for your prayers when our brother and director of the school were in hospital. His surgery was successful, and we believe the healing is guaranteed. We are also thankful to the eldership of the HC Church for the support of funds to help our brother receive all the necessary medication and everything, God bless them.

We are also thrilled with joy, and so is in heaven, hearing from our former graduates doing a good job of winning souls to Christ. In these 2 months, 22 baptisms and 16 restorations have been reported to us. This makes us proud and heaven celebrate. We are blessed to have these men of God represent Christ on earth and school in their home congregations. 

 *Teaching and preaching!* 

This semester, we have managed to teach 14 courses. We are thankful to our fellow local teachers who always are already to help us teach short course classes, which makes work easier for the full-time teachers. The Lord, our students, have also been busy preaching in the villages around the school campus and now plan to hold a one week preaching campaign in these villages during the second semester session.

 *Development!* 

Ekwendeni BV school in Malawi wants to thank brothers Denny, Keith, Tim, Mike, and Donnie for their efforts to appeal to the Healing Hands International to give us the solar pump which is now the great joy at school and the community. We now have tap water !

We are also thankful for the funds for the teacher's/guest house. It is not fully furnished but usable. Short course teachers have already started using it, and so are the full-time teachers. We thank Brother Denny and the HC church for the funds given. 

 *Campaign and end of first semester!* 

From the 28th to the 31st May, we are having a preaching campaign at Mkana in Mzimba district and after that we are off for one months holiday which usually becomes a busy month too as all students goes for preaching . We will reopen in July second week.

MASS EVANGELISM OUTREACH AND OPEN-AIR BIBLE LECTURESHIP IN IJEBU LAND*

By the grace of God, the six-day Mass Evangelism Outreach and Open-Air Bible Lectureship—jointly organized by BVBIN & SWSE-IBADAN Extension Center—was successfully held from April 28 to May 3, 2025, in Sabo, Sagamu, Ogun State. The effort was supported by two of our graduates/instructors currently working with the satellite campus in Sabo.

A team of six evangelists—Brothers Oladokun Samuel, Adedoyin Rotimi, Amos Olusegun, Adeyiwolu Isaac, Dele Shotola, and myself (Makinde Ebens)—traveled in Bro. Oladokun Samuel’s new bus to Sagamu in the early hours of April 28. We began the outreach at Kajola/Interchange in Sagamu, where we worked alongside the Kajola brethren in house-to-house evangelism during the day and conducted Open-Air Bible Lectures each evening in front of the hotel where we lodged, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Throughout the six days, our daily schedule included house-to-house evangelism from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by Open-Air Bible Lectureship from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

WORKERS SNUB MAY DAY CELEBRATION IN ABUJA*

Eagle Square, Abuja — May 1, 2025

Eagle Square, the traditional venue for Nigeria’s annual May Day celebration, was noticeably empty on Wednesday morning, May 1, as workers largely stayed away from this year’s International Workers’ Day festivities—an unusual development that reflects growing public frustration amid economic hardship.

According to *Channels Television*, the iconic square in the heart of Abuja—usually bustling with thousands of workers from the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC), and other labor unions—was deserted. Absent were the vibrant crowds, union banners, and festive displays that typically mark the occasion. Only security personnel from the Nigeria Police and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps were seen patrolling the grounds, with no organized labor events in sight.

The low turnout coincides with widespread discontent over the impact of recent economic reforms introduced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. Key policies such as the removal of fuel subsidies and the unification of the exchange rate have contributed to a sharp rise in the cost of living. Inflation currently stands at 24.23%, and many workers continue to struggle with stagnant wages, job losses, and soaring food prices.

While the International Monetary Fund (IMF) recently projected Nigeria to be the third-fastest-growing economy in the world in 2025 with a growth rate of 3.0%, that optimism appears disconnected from the everyday realities of Nigerian workers.

Online, many Nigerians questioned the relevance of celebrating Workers’ Day in such dire circumstances. One user wrote, “What are we celebrating when people can barely afford transport fares to work?

IDIROKO OUTREACH REPORT

A report from one of our co-laborers in Ogun State highlights the success of a recent five-day mass evangelism outreach held from Tuesday to Saturday (May 6–10). During this period, four souls were converted to Christ, and a family of five was restored to the faith.

Below is a list of those who participated in the outreach: Olaleye Joseph, Eferemo Faloudiarh, Yakub Jundu, Segun Wheto, Olajire David, Sis. Chidima, Sis. Henshaw, Sis. Odeyemi with Bro. Dada Lawrence, Idiroko's preacher & few other brethren

UPCOMING EVENTS

1. Visitation to a Church Planted Through Our Joint Efforts.

The staff of BVBIN & SWSE-IBADAN, in collaboration with WBSFUW in the Western States of Nigeria, is planning a visitation to a congregation of the Lord's church in Ayekale-Odofin, Kwara State. This church was planted through our joint evangelistic efforts about five years ago. The visit is scheduled for mid-July 2025. The town is approximately a three-hour drive from Omu-Aran.

2. Final Practicum/Teaching Practice for the 2024/2025 Set

Our students will embark on their four-week teaching practice from July 5 to August 2, 2025, across various locations in the South-Western states of Nigeria. As in previous years, the school has allocated a budget of $700 to support this important phase of their training.

3. 23rd Annual Bible Lectureship

The 23rd Annual Bible Lectureship of BVBIN & SWSE-IBADAN is scheduled, by God's grace, for August 21–23, 2025. The theme of the upcoming lectureship is:

“The Mystery of Faith”(Studies from the Book of Hebrews Chapter 11)

A budget of $1,500  has been set aside to cover the cost of feeding all participants, purchasing working tools for graduating students, printing event programs, and covering transportation for guest speakers and other logistics.

FOURTH SEMESTER CLASSES (MAY 16 – JULY 4, 2025)

The fourth semester lectures for the 2024/2025 academic year commenced on May 16 with a total of 31 students in attendance. By God’s grace, the semester will conclude on July 4, after which the students will proceed on their four-week practicum while the staff will embark on a preaching trip to selected congregations.

The following ministers are teaching this semester:

Isaac Olaniyan, Eniafe Olukayode, Makinde John, Oladokun Samuel, Israel Tajomavwo, and Makinde Ebens.

Olowe Bode , Oladokun Samuel and Olaegbe Samuel will be teaching in BVBIN & SWSE-IBADAN Extension Center in Sabo- Sagamu, Ogun State .

In addition, Oyenuga Esther  and Folorunso Richard continue to serve as the computer instructors.

THREE WEEKS VOCATIONAL STUDIES/PREACHING TRIP AND WEEKEND EVANGELISM OUTREACH

The three-week Vocational Studies/preaching trip for both first and second-year students was blessed with three new converts and six restored brethren who had strayed from the faith.

Students resumed their weekend Evangelism outreach across eight different centers immediately after fourth Semester began on May 16. By May 23, all twelve designated centers had been covered through our Weekend Evangelism Outreach program.

SOUTHWEST SCHOOL OF EVANGELISM IBADAN-  KIDDIES ACADEMY  REPORT 

The Southwest Kiddies Academy, located in Butu-London, Butubutu village, Ibadan, resumed classes for the third term of the 2024/25 academic session on April 28, 2025. The term is scheduled to conclude on August 1, 2025, Lord willing.

Over 80 pupils reported for this session, supported by 6 dedicated instructors. Nine students sat for their Mock Examination on May 24, 2025, and all performed exceptionally well. These nine pupils will proceed to take the Common Entrance Examination conducted by the Oyo State Ministry of Education and will form our inaugural Junior Secondary School (JSS) Class One in September 2025.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our partners and supporters, most especially The BVBID USA, Gahana -Jefferson Congregation , Zachary and Kim Van Tassel , West Olive Congregation, Tulare Community congregation,  Larry and Patty Goodin, Bro. Southern institute of Biblical studies

Overview

May was a productive month for the southern institute of Biblical studies, marked by six significant long courses, Radio preaching, House-to-House evangelism visitation, Market preaching. These initiatives are aimed at enhancing our academic offerings and expanding our student body.

Top Radio Preaching

Every Tuesday, the Bear Valley Bible Institute has been actively involved in a preaching program on the "Church of the Bible" specifically on the unity of the New Testament church in this month. This initiative has provided an excellent opportunity for faculty and students to reach a broader audience, sharing the teachings of the Bible and promoting the mission of the institute. Feedback from listeners has been encouraging, with many expressing appreciations for the insights shared.

Class Activities

Monday:  

Amoo-Gyimah led engaging discussions on key themes within Romans, focusing on justification, grace, and faith. 

Tuesday

Communication Skills: Samuel Sasu Ntim emphasized practical applications of effective communication in ministry, with interactive exercises enhancing student participation.

 1 & 2 Peter: John Acquah explored the historical context and theological implications of these epistles, encouraging critical thinking and application to contemporary issues. 

Wednesday: 

E.O. Larbi continued to inspire students with lessons on servant leadership and ethical decision-making in ministry contexts.

Thursday:

E.O. Larbi provided insights into the relevance of the Minor Prophets for today’s church, fostering lively debates. Attendance has been consistent.

Friday:

Samuel Papa Woode conducted thorough lessons in New Testament Greek, focusing on grammar and translation skills. Students have shown a keen interest in the subject, with average Attendance

Feedback 

Feedback collected from students throughout the month indicates a high level of satisfaction with the course material and teaching methods. Many students expressed appreciation for the practical applications discussed in classes, particularly in Communication Skills and Christian Leadership.

 Conclusion

May was a fruitful month for the Bear Valley Bible Institute, marked by collaborative efforts in impactful preaching, and meaningful class activities. The evangelistic outreach successfully reached several communities, fostering spiritual growth and community engagement. We look forward to building on these successes in the coming months. The diverse range of courses offered an opportunity for students to deepen their theological understanding and practical skills. Continued support and resources will further enhance the learning experience.

HARARE EXTENSION – JANUARY TO MAY 2025 REPORT

INTRODUCTION
The value of the extension program continues to rise within the churches in Zimbabwe. Truth, packaged in sound doctrine, is being shared and taught by men and women who went through the school. As always, we appreciate Bear Valley Bible Institute International for the partnership. Brother Keith Karsajian and Brother Donnie Estep, we remain indebted to your presence year in year out. CONGREGATIONAL ATTACHMENT
The students above, are attached to different congregations and some among them are already preachers in the respective congregations. They participate in all congregational duties including organising and being involved in evangelism programs, teaching, preaching, visiting the sick, etc.
1. Washington Nyoni is working with Westgate Church of Christ and beginning this June he will also make one Sunday visit to Nyabira Church of Christ.
2. Kennedy Kuzinya is at Zengeza Church of Christ and is working under the guidance of the local preacher, Goto.
3. Rigason Nyikayaramba is working with Bakasa Church of Christ in Guruve. Guruve, were our brother stays is more than 200km from Harare. Before coming to school brother Rigason Nyikayaramba was already a leader in the congregation and we had to persuade him to come to school and gain knowledge so that he is well equipped to lead.
4. Bennie Biriati is working with Kelstone Church of Christ in Nyanhunzi, Guruve. Like brother Rigason, Brother Bennie Biriati was also leading the church as a preacher but without training. So his coming to school was necessitated by the need to be well equipped for the leadership role in the church.
5. Vengai Majeza is working with Sandton Church of Christ in Harare. This congregation was established three years ago and there is need for sound leadership. Through the persuasion and encouragement from brother Lavert Zungunde, a graduate from Harare Extension School and the one who worked hard in the establishment of the congregation, brother Vengai Majeza is being shaped to become a preacher.
6. Webster Madzimure is working under the guidance of Gideon Madyira, the church minister at Gokwe Central Church of Christ.
7. Thomas Mikirosi is attached to Glendale Church of Christ were brother Shingirai Munhupedzi is the resident church minister. Brother Thomas Mikirosi also makes some visits, two per month, to Mazowe Inn Church of Christ were brother Lovemore Manyanhaire is the resident church minister.
8. Nester Maulani is wife to Moses Maulani, the resident preacher of Cherutombo Church of Christ in Marondera. Her knowledge is important in her working with women in the congregation.
9. Tafadzwa Manjeya is working under Ishmael Mutichu and Obvious Kufa (a graduate of the extension school), the serving ministers at Nashville Church of Christ in Gweru.

MAY 2025 OPERATING REPORT

The month of May was a blessed month for us by the special grace of God. We had a very peaceful and inspiring month with some positive events taking place. It is our pleasure to report what took place as duty demands.

STUDENTS

As reported in the month of April of the departure of the students to their various homes for some three weeks break, we are excited to report that all of them are back to school with one additional new student on the 27th of April, 2025. They are however back for a short term stay in school as the rains have started pouring. We scheduled for them to stay in school for only four weeks, and go back home to do their farm work. They will however be staying much longer when they are back as scheduled for us to meet our academic calendar.

ACADEMIC

Academic work started immediately when the students resumed school. They reported to school on the 27th of May which was a Sunday, and classes started on the 28th of May. As stated, four courses were taught in the month of May. They include: Homiletics 1 (Isaac Akumoliga), Godhead (James Legend), Christian Evidences (Adjei Mensah) and Old Testament 1 (Dickson Anonzah). After these courses, they went back for holidays to work on their farms. We give God the glory.

SCHOOL GARDEN

Our vegetables and peanuts are growing very steadily in the school garden. We are getting some very good vegetables to support the feeding of the students. It is our hope that the rainy pattern becomes favorable this year for us to have a good harvest. This will go a long way to aid the feeding of our students.

RICE FARM: Brother Collins has gone to the Zabzugu Tatale area where he acquired 60 acres of land to farm rice to support the Lord’s work in Northern Ghana. Brother James will join him with the rice seeds for sowing to take place. We pray for God’s help for good rains and stewardship for us to obtain a good success.

KPALSI SOUTH CHURCH

On the 11th of May 2025, the local congregation in Kpalsi South made a benevolent donation to all the women in the church for being good mothers in the church. Many of them were very excited as this donation of soap brought relief to them.

HEALING HANDS INTERNATIONAL VISITATION TO SCHOOL

A five member team of Healing Hands International visited the school on the 25th of May, 2025. They came to see how productive the Borehole drilled for us some years ago is functioning. They came to see how we are implementing the drip irrigation system that taught us in 2019. They were very satisfied and happy with what they saw. We hope and pray for partnerships in this direction in the near future.

Activity Report – May 2025

Introduction
We give thanks to God, as the month of May unfolded in peace and joy. Thanks to your faithful support, the Institute continues to train zealous evangelists, rooted in the Word and ready to serve in every area of ministry.

I. Academic Activities
The training was carried out according to the planned schedule, in a serious and productive atmosphere, fueled by the motivation and faithfulness of the students. Their thirst for knowledge, personal discipline, and desire to grow in faith greatly contributed to the overall quality of the program.

• Attendance: Full-time students distinguished themselves through their punctuality, dedication, and consistent motivation. Their attitude reflects a genuine desire for inner transformation and for applying God’s Word in daily life.

• Theory and Practice: Each training session offered a balanced approach between theoretical content and practical application. The biblical teachings were deepened through morning devotions, allowing students to begin each day centered on Christ. Personal assignments enabled them to reflect individually on the truths studied, while small group discussions encouraged mutual listening, interaction, and collective enrichment.

II. Evangelism – Fruitful Fridays
Our Friday evangelism campaigns continue to bear visible fruit: testimonies, new contacts, and sincere interest in the Gospel are becoming increasingly frequent.

• Activity Example: Like the disciples of Christ, some students combined tract distribution, door-to-door evangelism, and open discussions — this practice reinforces the teaching they receive. As a result, one woman and eight men were baptized during the month of May.

III. Break – May 30 to June 13, 2025
During the break, students enjoy a time of rest while continuing to:

1. Strengthen their spiritual life,

2. Review previously covered courses,

3. Prepare for upcoming classes.

IV. Activities During the Break
Although classes are suspended, students are encouraged to:

1. Participate in local evangelistic activities,

2. Strengthen their prayer life and personal Bible study,

3. Maintain regular contact with the families they are following up with.

 VI. A Congregation Planted at the Center
A new local congregation was planted directly at the training center, initiated by the students. This newly formed church serves as a practice ground for all participants: it is their first real “mission field” where they can apply the teachings received.

This practical context not only fosters commitment but also helps students learn the day-to-day realities of ministry: preaching, worship leading, hospitality, follow-up with new believers, and evangelism. With the resumption of classes, many mission activities will be intensified: evangelism campaigns, group outreach, neighborhood visits, and spiritual support.

These efforts are fully integrated into the hands-on training, which is essential for preparing laborers for the Lord’s work.

Conclusion and Gratitude
We thank our Lord for His grace and faithfulness throughout the month of May.

Operation Report For May 2025

INTRODUCTION

We bring you greetings from the students and staffs in Liberia- Bear Valley Bible Institute, hoping all is well with you and your families in the Lord's name. We truly appreciate God for your partnership with us in this great work we have to do here in Liberia, West Africa. Below are the happenings for the month of May 2025.

 FACULTY MEETING

As part of our administrative routing, our monthly Staff meeting was held on May 30th 2025. During the meeting, our instructional and support staff were encouraged and appreciated for all their tireless sacrifices gearing towards the success of the school. This meeting brought together all of our staff members to evaluate our progresses and plans on how we can further our efforts for the betterment of school. In the meeting, our staff who are preachers were also encouraged to speak with their congregations to help in the recruitment process of the school by recruiting interested members desiring to learn the Bible for Batch five comes 2026. High on the agenda were the issues of unity among the staff to champion the agenda of the School, straighter disciplinary measure of maintaining law and order on campus, and recruitment strategies for 2026, 2027 School Year. 

WEEKEND EVANGELISM OUTREACH 

In our efforts to give our students more practical work experiences, the school came up with a plan to assign every student to various congregations in Nimba County to practice their careers as incoming Ministers and Evangelists. Ministers with whom they are assigned are asked to mentor them and evaluate their performances to be graded for Personal Evangelism Course. This exercise is meant to build the students capacities in their professions, to help them have the first-hand knowledge on the work expected of them in the future after their graduation.

Please keep them in your individual prayers that God will guard them in the process for better results.

AGRICULTURE PRACTICAL

Studies at the Bear Valley Institute, Liberia Extension are not only limited to the classroom activities and evangelism. They have been taken through skills in general agriculture and Computer Studies anticipating that after their graduation, they will help support their families through these skills. These special programs are hugely focused on the practical aspect then the theory. They are involved with physical and first-hand working more than the classroom part of their studies.

We greatly recognized and appreciate the Bear Valley Family for including these Courses in their Curriculums to help prepare our students for the future as Gospel Ministers and Evangelists.

Below are our day to day Agriculture activities:

With our engagement in cultivating the 6.5 Acres of land offered by Sanniquellie Central Church Of Christ, we’ve planted Cassava and a portion of the land is being prepared as planting station and deposition of pig manure for Pepper and Batter Ball (Garden eggs) seedlings. Transplanting from the nursery started from April 1, 2025 through the second week of May.

In May 2025, the administration of Bear Valley Bible Institute International through Bro. Steven Ashcraft approved the purchase of agriculture materials to augment the crops productions for better yield, a set of PA System along with one 30 KVA Generator and an assorted computer spare parts to upgrade the School computer laboratory.  We are truly grateful for support and every dollar you continued to sacrifice for the sake of Christ in Liberia. 

ACADEMIC WORKS

The quarter continued to run smoothly with every person involved with the school in Liberia taking their responsibilities seriously. The students are all doing very well with their lessons while all the instructional staff continued coming as scheduled and playing their part. We continue to seek your prayers as we strive to please our Maker accordingly.

Bear Valley has a great impact in Nigeria

INTRODUCTION

We shall continue to be eternally grateful to God Almighty for His grace by bringing Bear Valley Bible Institute to us. We have not had it so good as we have it today.  The congregations within our State have started feeling the good impact of the school through some of our students who were their members. 

May God Almighty bless the entire Bear Valley leadership and all the sponsors of the school. Presently we have 40 students, (Nnewi 10, Awada 17, Okpoko 12).

ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES

EVANGELISM/LECTURESHIP

Anambra preachers and leaders held a One Day lectureship. One of our lectures, Aniamalu Felix and myself, Ezeh Chijioke handled the two key notes. The topics discussed were "The Preacher's family"  and  "The Responsibilities of the Church Towards Her Ministers" about 50 leading from various congregations attended the program.

CHALLENGES

The major challenge confronting us is the decline of our students because of the economic situation of our country. Many are struggling to survive. 

CONCLUSION

By the grace of God our lecturers are doing a great job in delivering the courses to the understanding of our students and also to the strict adherent to the Bear Valley guidelines.

We hope that the impact of their work will continue to shape our various congregations for more fruitful work in the Lord"s Vineyard.

Island-wide fellowship in Trinidad

The six preaching school students finished the last classes for their first year. They have been an encouragement and help to many congregations.

The third week of the month they helped another graduate who preaches at a small congregation organize an island-wide fellowship. The speakers were a former TSOP student and the Director. The meeting took place in a local secondary school auditorium. About 675 Christians from 60% of the congregations gathered for tremendous singing, stirring messages, meaningful Lord’s supper, and eating-together fellowship.

Then this past two weeks the six Masters class students have worked hard on the next session of their studies. Gary Fallis and his wife Sarah have been teaching here on the island and enjoying some Trini ‘life.’ 

Seven baptisms in Uganda

Brethren, 

I greet you in the mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ.  We ought always to give thanks to God for you Brethren,  because it is really fitting, your faith and love toward this work is actionably seen not verbal. 

Endlessly we thank God for his unceasing protection upon us as the school since we started in this journey. I am happy to let you know that  our men broke off for a holiday on 6th and have been joined to their families and congregations after a long time. We give God all the glory because all reached safely. 

We are expecting them in class on 7th July  2025. Pray for them during their time at home. however,  one of our boys, that is EMMANUEL BYAMUNGU,  Upon reaching home on Friday,  his biological father passed on  on Saturday.  We  have been saddened upon receiving such sad news.  Put EMMANUEL in your prayers as he battles this difficult moments in his life.

Also Simon  Katuramu our oldest student in age, has been battling eye problems.  It has given him a hard time studying. When he went to the eye clinic in Kampala,  he was told to go to a bigger facility than that. He pleaded with us that he doesn't feel like leaving his studies and asked if we may be of any assistance towards his treatment.  I plead with any well wisher  to see Simon  through and God will  bless you so much. 

In another news,  our brother  Simon Odongo  who is one of our teachers, got in an accident and got broken bones in his legs and deep wounds. He is at home and in great pain.

On 30th May we received a note from our landlord,  of the rent increment. Upon  receiving all this information,  we have been receiving other information from our old students and the work they are doing.  This last week a new congregation has been born . God should give us more strength to continue doing more. 7 baptisms in the course of last week including a Muslim man whom I had studied with for some good time.  

We say sorry to our brother Keith  who had wanted to visit the school here but because of so many anomalies he was not able to cross to Uganda.  We waited for him but all in vain.

Mozambique school has big plans

1.0 Introduction

The true shape of the school is slowly showing its face. This comes with surprises and a lot of discoveries at its wake. We pray to God for courage in facing some truths of the progress of the work. There are five courses that have been done to completion to date and the sixth one is in progress. In the process of learning, there are also many other happenings that go along with curriculum progress. The curriculum progress, the projects update, the students activities, meet our students and staff are the items in this report.

2.0 Curriculum Progress

We are excited to let you know that there are five courses that have been done to completion to date. These are Introduction to the New Testament, Introduction to The Old Testament, Communication Skills, How We Got The Bible and Life of Christ. The tutors were Owen S Ruraca, Theophilus Tanhera, Owen T Marange and Tatenda Tizora respectively. There was so much fun as these were in progress while a lot of patience was required in the pitching as the group has different educational levels. The next course will be Public Speaking. All the six courses are introductory courses that introduce the Bible student to basic knowledge of the journey into the study of Theology and Ministry.

The overall grade in each course is attained after some course work which includes assignments, midterm tests and final exams. These were done by all those who will be proceeding to the next set of courses. The grading system is American. The pass mark is 70% and above.

3.0 Projects Update

3.1 The Vegetable Garden

During the rains in January, we started a covo vegetable garden. We want to make this a cash project since the vegetable is on demand in the area. After the baseline survey it was resolved that we start this project. The vegetable is now ready for harvesting and selling. We are also yet to add chicken manure which is within our reach. Small areas have been affected by too much water since the larger part of the land is a wetland. We have plans to put tomatoes and other vegetables on these spaces that are left as the water levels go down.

The vegetable garden will also assist with offering some vegetables for the student lunch meals which is one of the urgent needs that we have. We hope to utilize all the space we have.

3.2 The Incubator

With the help of Pact Missionaries we are now in possession of a 1500 eggs incubator. We thank God that we now have it with us from Zimbabwe. We are very grateful to have received this important gift that will go a long way towards our vision of self sustenance. Hatchery business is capable of growing into a giant project given the scarcity of broiler chicks on the market. Yet, our current focus is on other freelance varieties of birds. The school will start with a few birds as parent stock that will produce the eggs to be hatched in the incubator. In the process, our Projects director will work on our possible markets. The project director has produced a business plan which we will share with various stakeholders and interested partners who will be interested in the project.

3.3 The Broiler Project

Since the hatchery project may take a longer time to realize meaningful profit, the school has decided to do the broiler project to develop capital and support to the hatchery project. There was an abandoned pen at the compound which needed a few renovation touches. We have worked on it. This pen can house as many as 200 birds. We started with 50 birds which were sold at an equivalent value of US$4. We are taking another lot. In this second batch we will take another 50 birds because we had so many expenses that we incurred in the renovations of the pen.

 4.0 Students Activities

The school designed an activity form for the students to record their participation in church activities. So many activities have been recorded and the students are excited in their studies and experiences. The school has been communicating with Tim Brumfield on his work in the WBS. To date we have one of our student Elidio Lucas Selemane from Manica doing follow ups of WBS students in Manica town. Of the two follow ups one has been baptised by our student and is now meeting with the church in Manica. Some of our students have been involved in visiting the sick, presiding on the Lords's super, singing, preaching and teaching various classes. Besides these, the school has chapel sessions every day in which the students and staff participate offering the students another learning platform as well.  

The church in Messika hosted a gardening workshop that was done by Healing Hands International for two days (29 and 30 May 2025). Our students and their wives were part of this workshop. We hope we will have more of these together with our school projects to provide a learning platform in developing in self-sustaining projects.

5.0 Meet Our Students  

5.1 Lewai Gande Julio and Chipo Requireai

Lewai Gande Julio was born on 25 June 1990 in Vanduzi where he comes from. Lewai graduated as an English teacher from the Chibata Teacher Training Institute in 2011. In 2019 he graduated from the Pedagogical University in the English language with another qualification in Shona. He is the Headmaster at 12 de Outubro Primary School since 2022. He also serves as head of post and head of major events in the Frelimo party in the Manica district. He was married to Chipo Requerai in 2012 and the two are blessed with 4 children.

Chipo Requireai studied at Chinhamapere Secondary School and finished with her tenth grade in 2015. She was born in Manica where she hails from. The couple stays in Messika where they also worship. Lewai was baptised by Owen on the tenth of June in 2010. Chipo was baptized by Owen in September 2012 at Messica where she has since been an active member. The couple are both students in our first intake.

5.2 Elidio Lucas Selemane

Elido Lucas Selemane was born on the 17 of April 1985 in the district of Gurue in the province of Zambezia in Mozambique. He was born from a religious family of the Church of Christ. He was brought up by his grandfather in Gurue and later moved to Chimoio. In Chimoio he went to stay with his uncle Jose Paputiano. For four years he went to Guro district from Chimoio. He later moved to Manica town in 2010 and became part of the Church in Manica. It had been his dream to pursue pastoral studies. With basic English proficiency he could have crossed the border to pursue these in Mutare which had the closest Bible school. However, for many years it was buried. Rays of light toward his vision came when he rubbed shoulders with the Ruracas who were preaching in Messika. The reality of his dream showed up on the fourth of January 2025 when he found himself among the Instituto Biblico Bear Valley pioneers. Elidio is a self-motivated man with an excellent integrity. He is hardworking and punctual in his work. He is not yet married. To date he has exhibited a level of performance and ability above average. We have such a promising preacher in him.  

6.0 Get To Know Your Staff  

Owen and Eunice

Owen Simone Ruraca is a Mozambican national. He is married to Eunice Chikukwa. The couple is blessed with four girls. The couple are graduates of MSOP of 2005. The couple are the only trained preachers in the Manica Province to date. They have been working with the Church in Messika for 19 years and have been very active in the work of the Lord. Owen is working on his Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical studies. Owen is serving as a teacher and Director of evangelism activities. Owen stands tall in his communities and we think ourselves very fortunate to have him as part of our team. He has been struggling with cancer but has not stopped giving his service to God even beyond his strength. Eunice is helping us with handling our paperwork and keeping records. She does an excellent job.

7.0 We need prayers

We are asking for prayers from you brethren. Owen Ruraca’s health has been on and off. He has recently changed his cancer treatment and was down most of his time. He might undergo another operation in the near future and we are soliciting your prayers.

One of our student from Manica, Alberto Zecharias has not been feeling well also. We were told at the beginning that it was cerebral malaria but it later proved to be something else different. He was later taken to his rural home and has been slowly improving. We hope he will be back earlier to continue with his studies. He has a good reputation of being punctual, hardworking and consistent. We have missed him too long and kindly request for your prayers.  

Conclusion

The school is progressing with its curriculum with other activities which include income generating projects like the vegetable garden, the broiler poultry project and the yet to roll hatchery project. Our students have been active in different church activities that include preaching, teaching, song leading, visitations and others. We are very grateful of the partnerships that we have so far and look forward to many of these. The school needs prayers for our ill student  Alberto and tutor Owen Ruraca who has been struggling with gist cancer for over seven years now and awaits another possible operation.

Reporting Letter for the month of May-2025

Respected Director Mr. Keith Kasarjian, our coordinator Mr. Mark Reynolds and all the prayer partners greetings to you in the name of Jesus Christ. We pray that this letter may serve us to find you good health. We sincerely appreciate your continual prayers  and  encouragement for the smooth function of BVBI-Tirupati-India. We would like to submit the brief report for the month of May-2025.

Weather :- The month of May is considered as hottest month in India. The temperature has been reached over 100 degrees during the month of May, This period is characterized by dry, scorching heat as the country prepares for the arrival of the monsoon rains.

BVBI-Classes:- we have successfully conducted a graduation ceremony for the 3rd batch of students in April 2025, marking a significant milestone in our mission to train faithful gospel preachers and Christian leaders. We are excited to announce that the new batch has already commenced  and students are diligently engaging in their studies . Our dedicated faculty members are working tirelessly , ensuring that each student receives quality biblical instruction and mentorship.  We continue to seek God’s guidance as we move forward in equipping men for the ministry.

We are greatly honoured  by the presence of our respected director Mr. Keith Kasarjian , whose visit brought encouragement and inspiration to both graduated and staff.  We deeply appreciate his gracious participation in the graduation ceremony and heartfelt welcome to the new batch of Bible students,  personally witnessing their commitment as they began their journey of learning and service. Classes are now in full swing , with students and teachers giving their best to equip them for the lord’s work. We thank God for His continued blessings on this spiritual educational ministry.

Summer Gospel Campaigning:- In the month of May we have conducted gospel campaigning in the village of Aruru, this village is located very coastal side of our district. It is 100 miles far away from the bible school . We involved our local church members for the success of the gospel meeting. About 60-70 people were attended for the meeting, by the sound system village people heard the good of Jesus Christ.

Baptisms:- In the month of May 11 souls were baptized and added to the body of Christ. Please pray for the newly baptized souls so that they may grow in the image of His son Jesus Christ. One of the baptized persons  is Mr. Prasad, is blind. He has completed his teacher training in braille. He understood the problem of sin and obeyed to water baptism to wash away his sins.

Summer Children classes(VBS) :- In the month of May all the schools and colleges have been closed for the summer holidays.  We have conducted summer children classes from May 8th to 11th( 4 days ). We have collected children near  by villages . About 80 children were attended for the 4 days VBS program.  The theme for 2025 was The parables of Jesus Christ. These following parable 1.The Parable of good Samaritan 2. The Parable of Foolish Richman 3.The parable of wise and foolish builders 4. The parable of Rich man and Lazarus 5. The Parable of the talents 6. The parable of Pharisee and tax collector 7.The parable of Sower and soils 8. The parable of the lost possession . We had joint class, then we divided into sections as per their ages. We involved sisters and brothers for the success of the VBS. The local church granted the budget for the study material, water, snacks and food.

Online classes:- BVBI-Tirupati-India has launched online classes on weekly twice, we have connected active members and some of the students to educate them spiritually who can teach others.
