Courses Continue Successfully in Cape Coast, Ghana

REPORT FOR THE END OF SECOND SEMESTER

AUGUST 2026

PREAMBLE

The second quarter of the academic year of Bear Valley Bible School in Cape Coast began in April 2026. This was after the school had successfully completed the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. The first academic year is almost coming to an end as we try to wrap up activities. Students are positively responding to all academic  activities and requirements, and instructors are doing their best, sometimes going out of their ways just to make sure nothing is left to  chance.  

OVERVIEW 

The Cape Coast Study Center has experienced a lot of difficult moments in the last six months. This has of course affected our studies, schedules and numbers in a lot of ways. Our schedules for days and times of meeting had to be adjusted several times just to accommodate changing weather and seasons.  

We were beset by times of the aphelion phenomenon as we experienced cold seasons that made it very difficult for us to meet. This season has been preceded by periods of heavy rainfall and floods in the towns and villages around here. Some classes had to be cancelled outright because there was no way we could access transport facilities to attend classes.  

Our student population of 27 has also declined by 5, as we now have a student population of 22 as a result of transfers and job employment opportunities that have come along the way for some of the students. We are currently trying to help them locate and join the Bear Valley schools close to their new jurisdiction.  

COURSES  

As at the end of August, we have successfully completed the following courses through these six months: OLD TESTAMENT 1 & 2, THE BOOK OF ACTS and PERSONAL EVANGELISM 2.  

We hope to continue with: THE GODHEAD, SCHEME OF REDEMPTION and THE NEW TESTAMENT CHURCH in the next quarter.    

PREPARATIONS FOR EVANGELISM  

Our plan to conduct an evangelism campaign at Ankaako in the middle of July was thrown overboard as a result of the massive flooding which occurred in the months of June and July. It was impossible to travel to those communities as they rather needed funds and other resources than the words of the gospel at that time.    

We are currently preparing to move to a new community, Ntefrewaso, another community in the Twifo Praso district of the central region. Former students have been informed and asked to come and help with the campaign when the time is due.   

HOUSE TO HOUSE CAMPAIGN 

The school embarked on a massive house to house campaign from the beginning of July to the middle of August. The campaign has been a very fruitful and productive exercise as it offered students first hand knowledge and exposed them to the various strategies in evangelism.  

We had a lot of prospects who have been visiting the local church lately, with others requiring extra one on one teachings before they would submit to the command of baptism.  

The students are highly recommended in this house to house exercise as they are totally dedicated to doing this week in week out, partly due to the cancellation of the evangelism exercise that was to take place at Ankaako.
