Evangelistic Seminar held in Tamale, Ghana
BEAR VALLEY INSTITUTE OF BIBLICAL STUDIES, TAMALE - GHANA
JUNE 2026 OPERATING REPORT
We write to briefly report the activities that took place in the month of June 2026 at the Bear Valley preaching school in Tamale.
KPALSI SOUTH CONGREGATION
We give God the glory for the local congregation in Kpalsi South. We continue to progress gradually by the grace of God. In June 2026, one soul was added to the Lord’s church. We continue to study and manifest the life of Christ in and around our neighborhood as we work to bring many people into the Lord’s church. Currently, the congregation has a regular membership of 56 souls by the grace of God.
RICE FARM
We have started the process of recultivating our rice farm. We have already sprayed, plowed, and sowed our rice by the grace of God. The price of rice wasn't the best this year; however, we hope for changes to happen in the future, and for that matter, we are maintaining our plan of farming to supplement the feeding efforts and the work in Northern Ghana, and possibly Ghana in the future. We currently have full ownership of the land and can use it for whatever purpose we deem fit.
EVANGELISTIC SEMINAR
As reported in the month of May, we had another seminar at Jomoni under the Zabzugu area as we try to strengthen congregations on sound doctrines and make disciples for our Master Jesus. The seminar was on the theme: “maintaining the doctrine of Christ (2 John 1:9).” We had a total of 13 congregations in participation with a total number of 86 people. Several questions came up during the studies, indicating some serious doctrinal challenges. A request was made for periodic continuous similar seminars to help cure some of the challenges most of the congregations are going through in relation to doctrine. We hope to do our best to help these congregations stand firm. As we all know, the day of the Lord would surely not be long. We would be hosting another seminar for the Kukpaligu and Gob-Kukani area also and that of Yendi, Garinkuka, and other places necessary to deal with the issue of doctrine and evangelism. We would continue to knock on all doors until we succeed. We are certain the Lord would give us success.
DENOMINATIONAL PROGRAM
The baptismal numbers for the denomination program at Nadundo currently are 6. The program continues to progress successfully, with brother Paul Nampaal now teaching with the support of brother James Legend occasionally. We are currently at the stage of total persuasion, strategic reasoning, and one-on-one encounters. While the program is on, making moves into individuals' homes to persuade them to decide.
Recruitment for the Upper East Region denominational program, precisely Balungu and Yorigo Madina areas, is ongoing with brother Isaac Akumoliga. Same recruitment efforts are being made at the Garinkuka area too, with brother Akum Samson.
GENERAL RECRUITMENT AND VISITATION
The recruitment process for the 2027/2028 academic year has kicked off strongly. We intend to explore all areas of Northern Ghana, especially the neglected areas like the Savannah Region, part of the Bono Region, Upper West, Northeast, Upper East, and everywhere possible to try to recruit faithful men who will help us expand and extend the Lord’s Church. We have currently covered 27 communities with the message of recruitment under the Savannah Region and Bono enclaves. We intend to expand our net to cover all corners of the North as much as we can. We have also printed some banners to aid our recruitment efforts as we hang them at certain vantage areas and communities as we journey forward. We must do all things possible to get men who are truly faithful admitted into our institutions. We have carefully observed that if we are not diligent in the area of recruitment of students, we would end up pouring water into a basket where we would not be making any positive progress with the work. It is our prayer that the Lord will help us to make the best recruitment for the next batch of students.
SCHOOL GARDEN
The plantains in the school garden are fruiting beautifully to the glory of God. We have different kinds of crops currently in our garden. From vegetables to root crops like cassava and yam. We wish to thank God for the help provided to us by Healing Hands International to put in place a solar system which has become key to maintaining our crops and flowers during the dry season. It is this that has made it much more possible for us to keep these plantains well. We thank God for the progress.
AID TO KUKPALIGU CONGREGATION
The local congregation in Kukpaligu has some challenges, one of which had to do with seats to sit and worship during service. They solicited support for some benches to help them sit to worship. We were able to provide some five benches in the month of June for them. We hope to get more for them and other congregations that have similar challenges as and when we have funds available.
We praise God for everything taking place in the North.
Thank you, brethren,
James Legend
