New Churches Planted in Gueckedou, Guinea
GUECKEDOU, GUINEA BEAR VALLEY BIBLE INSTITUTE ACTIVITY OPERATIONS REPORT FOR MAY 2026
Introduction
The Bear Valley Extension Institute in Gueckedou, Guinea has completed the required training for another batch of students, the fourth. As we make preparations for the next graduation in November, we are pleased to invite you in advance for better preparations. These students have also been engaged in outdoor activities of strengthening and restoring weak and fallen churches. Also, two smaller teams are currently on the field for the same exercise in other areas around Gueckedou. Follow up exercises are ongoing and a few new congregations have also been planted in response to our radio ministry broadcast. Let us look at some details of these highlighted points.
Classroom: Our fourth batch students have completed what was left in 2 courses - "Marriage and the Home" and "Christian Ethics" for all the required courses of the program.
However, 1 of the 12 students did not show up for these last courses. Eleven did.
We are currently on recrutement of new students. Admission is still open for interested and perhaps recommended persons, but will soon close by the 10th of June.
Students' Restoration Exercice: To climax their training, the students were taken out on a field exercise to strengthen and restore weak and fallen churches. They were divided in 2 groups so that the congregations of Bandikoulo which falls in the territory of Macenta and the village of N'workouma in the Gueckedou prefecture were strengthened and restored respectively. This batch of students as in previous ones have some very strong and dedicated men already in the field of evangelism, restoration and edification. Later, personal profiles will reveal their identities.
Other Restoration work:
The challenge to convict souls to plant new churches is great, but to maintain them is even greater!
The Bear Valley school in Gueckedou has planted over a hundred and twenty churches over the years. Sustenance is a greater challenge especially so when sacrifice is a requirement in leadership. Like the Apostle Paul, we decided this time round to take a general census of the status of our brethren, the churches planted around Gueckedou and found out the need to visit and help especially the weak and fallen ones.
This exercise started in late May and will continue in June. Reports coming back say a warm reception is felt on the field and for the most part, the members just need encouragement, but for others, requests are made to help train or replace leaders who have abandoned their post in some of the villages. More details of these will come in our next report for June.
Follow up Exercices:
There has always been the need to do follow up works to especially younger churches. Both staff including the Director, students and some of the evangelism team leaders are always part of this exercise. In May the brethren in Conakry visited the small church at Forecariah where they had an opportunity to discuss the bible with some 4 prospects. Interestingly, the congregation at Yembeya, Conakry held meetings on how they can not only improve the church, but partner with the evangistic team there in Conakry. There were two separate meetings of the men and the women followed by a general meeting of all.
As a result of the follow up work, we had 2 and later 4 souls baptized in the congregation of Solo 2 where the Institute Director visited. That makes 6 baptisms of follow up exercise during the month under review.
Evangelist teams and the Radio program:
In response to our weekly radio ministry broadcast though limited time - 30 minutes a week, the evangelistic teams felt compelled despite the challenges of congregational follow up and sustenance to preach the saving gospel to the radio callers. The roads to most of the interior settlements are very rough, but souls are calling like the Macedonians! The initial plan was to conduct 3 campaigns, but we had an opportunity for a fourth one.
Here below are the names of 3 + 1 new churches planted during the month:
1. Soyadou village, Kassadou sous-prefecture - 8 baptized on 21 May 2026
2. Koleadou of Kassadou sous-préfecture - 11 baptized on 22 May 2026
3. Douadou of Kassadou sous-préfecture - 10 baptized on 23rd May 2026. & a bonus at
4. Kofian village of Kassadou sous-préfecture where 6 were baptized on the very next day again, May 24th 2026.
Notice that all the four campaigns were all conducted on the same weekend of May 21st to 24th, every day from Thursday to Sunday because all these villages are in the same sous-préfecture and with the same interest from the radio broadcast messages.
Conclusion:
We are grateful to Almighty God for His grace enabling us to keep on training preachers and converting souls at the same time.
The Gueckedou school is thanking you all for your partnership and support in this soul saving mission. Indeed the Lord is with us as we continue to see progress. Another batch of at least 11 men are on the way to be graduated for service in the vineyard of the Master. Hopefully, more and more churches will be planted. One of our greatest challenges though is the follow up for these congregations to all remain strong and faithful. We need your prayers and support to be able to make a regular routine visit to them all.
During the month of May there were 4 new churches planted while restoration is ongoing. Together with the follow up work and personal evangelism and the campaigns conducted, we have baptized 41 persons to the glory of God!
Our radio ministry is making a great impact in the community. We just need additional time to allow us to be life during each broadcast.
Yes, we are committed to making Heaven rejoice!!
Thanks again.
