Lectureship and Graduation held in Abia State, Nigeria
REPORT OF THE NIGERIAN INSTITUTE OF ARTS AND THEOLOGICAL STUDIES/ BEAR VALLEY BIBLE INSTITUTE – NIGERIA
NTIGHA- ONITCHA NGWA ABA ABIA STATE
MAY 2026
INTRODUCTION
It is with gratitude in our hearts that we write to reflect on the successful conclusion of another academic year. The successful conclusion of this academic year is a testament to the harmonious working of many individuals and groups in the furtherance of the gospel of Christ. To all those who supported financially and morally, the school is grateful. To those facilitating the financial support and those on ground to see that the engagement and training of students is achieved, we thank you. Together, we shall make the world a better place to the glory of God.
ACADEMIC ACTIVITES
The examination ended on the 29th of April. The final year students defended their project on the 13th of May and it was worth it. It was an eye-opener to both teachers and students. The students explained their topics and the different stages as well the new knowledge added the body of scholarship. Some of them where required to make several corrections. These corrections sent some of them back to more rigorous research. In the end, it was a fruitful exercise. It is hoped that academic activities would resume second week of August. Please keep the entire staff and student body in prayers.
EVANGELISM CAMPAIGN
The evangelism campaign started on the 2nd of May through to the 9th of May. The students were sent out in various groups to six different congregations. It was a first time experience for them. The congregations include 20 Opobo Road, COC Umudosi, COC MCC Road, COC Amaeke Abam, Umuebi COC and COC Amavo Isiahiafor. They were on the streets for the period of one week and they helped the congregations. At the time of this report, no baptism was recorded.
LIBRARY
The school is very grateful to Chad Wagner and his team for their unwavering support in equipping the NIATS library among many other supports. A set of 18 packs of the Truth for Today’s Commentary and two more books were delivered to the NIATS library. The library continues to have more books and scholarly ones at that matter. The school is grateful.
LECTURESHIP/DINNER/ MATRICULATION AND GRADUATION
The lectureship started on Thursday, the 21st of May and ended on the 22nd. The lectureship featured preachers like brothers Emmanuel Inyang (Evang), Chris Nwanguma (Evang), Innocent Nwigwe, the Director of Akwa School Preaching Anambra State. At the end of the programme, the staff students and the student’s invited guests retried to a dinner night in honour of the graduating students. The Board members were treated to a nice dinner and awards were given from the Timothy Awards to the best improved students award. The following day, the matriculation and graduation held simultaneously. A total of eleven students matriculated and ten students graduated. If fact, something exceptional happened. The special guest of honour pledged to give the school financial support, and then, almost everyone in the audience pledged their support. The euphoria was high. The school is grateful for the resumed interest in local support for the school. It is hoped that the pledges be redeemed and used to the benefit of the school. Please pray that God bless the donors and help them redeem their pledged support.
ADMISSION
The intake examination held on the 15th of May 2026. Three students sat for the intake, seven others missed. We hope to have more during the late intake. Keep praying for the already ten interested students and more that would come.
CONCLUSION
The struggle of rebuilding and strengthening a great institution is not attained by a sudden flight. However, with resolve from great individuals, prayers and supplication, the war will be won. Thus, continue to pray for NIATS as we navigate through the challenges. We are grateful to the entire NIATS/Bear Valley Family and all the great and wonderful brothers and sisters, we are grateful.
