School’s impact seen in Lesotho

Bear Valley Bible Institute (BVBI) Lesotho: Quarterly Ministry Report

1. Introduction

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

This quarter has been a period of profound spiritual growth, academic excellence, and impactful community outreach. Bear Valley Bible Institute (BVBI) Lesotho continues to fulfill its mission of equipping faithful men and women for the ministry. Our current student body is performing exceptionally well both inside and outside the classroom, while our alumni continue to demonstrate strong leadership qualities within their respective congregations.

Key milestones this quarter include the successful execution of regional men's and women's spiritual retreats and the baptism of seven souls into the body of Christ.

2. Student and Alumni Impact

Our students continue to apply their classroom training directly to field evangelism and ministry. Notably, current student Makhotla Mafatle is successfully ministering at the Maputsoe Church of Christ. Although this congregation was established only two years ago, it has shown immense dedication to local evangelism.

Since 2019, a total of five new congregations have been successfully established and are currently being sustained by the ministries of BVBI students and alumni:

Leadership & Congregational Influence

The church in Lesotho continues to testify to the transformative impact of BVBI on congregational leadership, worship services, and regional events.

· Maseru Pulpit Ministry: Acknowledging the high caliber of sound doctrine taught at the institute, the eldership at the Maseru Church of Christ has officially reserved the pulpit exclusively for men who have graduated from or are trained by BVBI.

· Evangelistic Harvest: The ongoing outreach efforts led by our student body resulted in seven baptisms this quarter.

3. Regional Ministries and Events

3.1 Ladies' Spiritual Retreat

In July, the Maseru church of Christ hosted a joint spiritual retreat that brought together Christian women from across Lesotho and the Free State Province of South Africa. Notably, two of our current female students were given the platform to teach and share the Word during the event.

· Theme: "Women of Virtue" (derived from Proverbs 31)

· Highlight: The event fostered strong cross-border fellowship. A beautiful spirit of service was on display as the students and youth stepped forward to prepare and serve meals, allowing the women uninterrupted time to nourish themselves with the Word of God.

3.2 Men's Leadership Retreat

From August 7th to 9th, the inaugural local Men's Retreat was hosted at the Abia Church of Christ. The event achieved outstanding attendance and participation.

· Theme: "Leading Like Jesus" (focused on John 13)

· Attendance: 112 men gathered from five regional congregations: Maseru, Abia, Maputsoe, Tsenola, and Motshabi.

· Faculty Involvement: It was a privilege to have our BVBI students participate alongside our instructional faculty. Lectures and workshops were delivered by BVBI instructors: Robert Likhang, Vincent Shata, Sibusiso Adontsi, Tsabela Mabathoana, and Tawanda Mwadiya.

· Future Outlook: This successful gathering marked the launch of a new local annual initiative, which the institute aims to sustain and grow in the coming years.

4. Conclusion

We extend our deepest gratitude to our supporters, partners, and faculty members who make this ministry possible. The visible growth in our students, the maturity of our alumni, and the salvation of seven souls this quarter stand as a testament to God's continued favor on BVBI Lesotho. We look forward to building on this momentum in the next quarter.

God bless you

In His arms,

Tawanda Mwadiya
