Success in spite of persecution

Haiti Report

The situation in Haiti has not changed; the gangs continue to hold the country hostage. According to reports, more than 5,000 people have been killed in the first nine months of 2026. The gangs have taken control of the location where we once housed the Sonlight Children’s Home.  The guard was beaten almost to death and spent weeks in the hospital.  Recently, the location known as the Guest House, where we housed workers, was taken at gunpoint.  Ronaldo, our groundskeeper, and his family were forced to turn over the keys and leave.  We are thankful they were not injured, and Brother Viciere took them into his home.

In spite of the gang violence, the gospel cannot be stopped.  God’s word continues to touch the hearts and lives of hundreds of people.  Through June, still awaiting the September report, the kingdom saw 190 souls obey the gospel. We are so thankful for our students and faculty for their dedication and zeal for teaching God’s word.  In August, we celebrated our fifth graduating class.  We now have preaching in several areas throughout Haiti. The devil continues to work through the gangs, but God continues to show you that you cannot stop the spreading of the message of salvation with violence.

This work could not continue without your help and support.  The love and conviction of individuals and congregations make this possible.  God opens the doors; you, as supporters, add the water, and our students and faculty reap the harvest.  If you would like more information about the work, please let me know.
