27 souls converted in Sierra Leone
ACTIVITY OPERATION REPORT FOR NOVEMBER 2025
Full Time and the Extended Programs
INTRODUCTION
We welcome you to the 11th month of 2025. From the beginning of this year to this point, we have been consistently updating you, our dear brethren, on how God has been providentially leading us in doing what we have been doing. Your partnership has been vital and an important part of our endeavor. As a sound biblical institution, during the month of November, our students held on to their on and off campus activities, souls were won to the Lord, our graduates on the field pressed harder, the evangelism teams continued to be dedicated to their task of saving souls, and we received a load of tracts and books from Mission Printing. Here are more details on the highlighted activities:
STUDENTS AND ACADEMIC UPDATES
In November, all our students in both programs (Full time and extended) at the Kenema main campus continued to press on with their activities. Everything went well and there was nothing unusual to report about.
STAFF UPDATES
All our staff, both part time and full time are committed fully to the ministry. You were informed in October that one of our staff, Michael Triyoh and his wife Edith had a baby girl. In November also, another staff member, Benjamin Thomas and his wife, Kadie (both are students in our extension program) had their fourth son, Benjamin Thomas Jr. Please pray for the parents and the young evangelist to be, Lord willing for good nurturing.
EVANGELISTIC EFFORTS AND CONVERSION OF SOULS
Here is the summary of conversions and restorations for the month of November 2025:
A. The school had five conversions.
B. The alumni had eight conversions.
C. The evangelistic teams had fourteen conversions and five restorations
D. The total conversions were 27
TRACTS AND BOOKS RECEIVED FROM MISSION PRINTING
It was with a grateful heart that we received 175 cartons of tracts and hymn books from Mission Printing through Brother Alfred Beyan from Liberia. We acknowledge the generosity of the Mission printing family, those brethren that donated their books, and our coordinator, Steve Ashcraft who paid for all the expenses for us to get the materials to Kenema.
STUDENT’S PROFILE: Joseph Thomas
Joseph Thomas, age 23 is one of our promising students to graduate in 2026. He was born on the 30th November, 2002 at Taiama town, Moyamba District, Southern Sierra Leone to Mr. Joseph Thomas Sr. and Mrs. Boi Thomas. Joseph is the last born of seven siblings of which only three are still living. He attended the United Methodist Church nursery school from 2008 -2011. After that, he went to the Moyamba District Council Primary School in Taiama 2011 – 2016 where he sat for the National Primary School Examination (NPSE) in 2016. From there he proceeded to the Taiama Secondary school where he did his three years of Junior Secondary School and three years of Senior Secondary School from 2017-2023. He sat for the West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). Immediately after his WASSCE, he gained a scholarship to study at the Bear Valley Bible Institute in Kenema.
Joseph recounted his conversion story thus:
Initially, I was in the United Methodist Church (UMC), when I was young in my village, Njala Kessinema. But when I came to Taiama for schooling, the family I was staying with attended the church of Christ in Taiama. So, I started following them for service. At the time, I did not know much about God and the church. I didn’t attend service regularly and my lifestyle was nothing to write home about. However, everything changed when the then students of Kenema Bear Valley Bible Institute came to Taiama in November 2023. They preached the gospel to me and I accepted and on the 16th of the same month I gave my life. After my conversion, I expressed the desire to be enrolled at the prestigious BVBI. I was eventually granted admission and today I can say that I am very happy I made the decision to be here. Since my baptism, and schooling at the Bear Valley Bible Institute, whenever I return home for holiday, I actively get myself engaged in the activities of the church; I evangelize, preach, teach and lead song practice.
Brother Thomas is one of the reasons why we keep on searching for committed brethren to be trained to win souls for Christ. He is one of those students that we have high confidence in because of his dedication to the Lord. We are glad to have him added to our family.
CONCLUSION
Thank you for reading this report to this point. May the Lord provide more opportunities to continue to be useful in His service! Till we come your way again in our December report, Lord willing, stay blessed and loved by God.
Your brother,
Peter Sahr Makundu,
Director,
Sierra Leone Bear Valley Bible Institute
