Students and Instructors in Umuahia Evangelize

INTRODUCTION

I give God the glory for enabling us to come this far in the Bear Valley Bible Institute Nigeria project. It has indeed been an exciting experience, though with its challenges. However, I must say that it's the best thing that has happened to this Umuahia zone. The program came when it was highly desired in the area, and so it was received with a warm embrace.

The host congregation has been marvelous by making sure we study in a conducive environment.  Both students and faculty have shown impressive seriousness in their studies and classroom activities.

EVANGELISM

The students and instructors played a major role in the planning and execution of the Amaeke Abam Church Planting evangelism, which took place from Friday 7th November  - Sunday 9th November 2025. The exercise recorded two immediate baptisms and a number of others who showed keen interests. They have been worshipping every Sunday since then. So, the church of Christ has been established in the village home of brother Solomon Ifeanyi Usim, the Director of NIATS in Abia state and we were in full participation.

Also our host congregation, 75 Bende Road Church of Christ, Umuahia, held a 3-day evangelism program spanning 27 - 29 November 2025. I was one of the Keynote speakers and a contributor during the open-air preaching. A good number of our students were on ground and played key roles in the spiritual exercise.

COURSES COVERED SO FAR

We have followed the order of courses handed to us systematically. So far, beginning from: Reading and Research we have studied through: How we got the Bible, Christian Evidence, Scheme of Redemption to Hermeneutics, both the instructors and students have been showing due diligence to their duties. 

WNCC ENROLLMENT

In line with the BVBIN crave for excellence, it became necessary that the instructors in the school should upgrade to an acceptable academic standard so as to acquire more skills and impact the students adequately for the task ahead. So, two of the teaching staff, including myself, had to enroll online with WNCC & SBS Abeokuta, Ogun state for a bachelor degree in the Bible, which we don't have. Though both of us have Bible diploma and Masters degrees in other fields. 

Thanks to BVBI for sponsorship in this capacity building venture. No doubt it has been tough combining teaching and studying, but it's exciting considering that both are complementary.

CONCLUSION

I must say that this second phase of the school's existence in Umuahia was marked with uplifting experiences. It can easily be described as a period of consolidation. We can henceforth proudly say that we have a Bible school of international standards that is bound to equip both students and instructors with skills with which to conquer the world for Christ.
