Students in Nigeria continue Outreach

SABO ONIBA / LAGOS ISLAND CENTERS REPORT (August – October 2025)

Introduction

The battle between light and darkness is as old as time, and it continues to manifest in different forms. Africa, particularly Nigeria, has endured persistent terrorism that appears unending, drawing international concern and public discussion this time around. Yet, in the midst of these challenges, the work of the Kingdom of God continues to advance.

I remain deeply grateful to the Bear Valley Bible Institute family for giving many Nigerian instructors the opportunity to upgrade our knowledge and ministry capacity. Some brethren are currently pursuing degree programs with WNCC, while others are enrolled in master’s programs with the School of Biblical Studies (SBS), Jos. I personally thank God for the successful completion of my Master’s in Ministry. In August, I attended the 44th Annual Preachers and Leaders Meeting in Jos, where I was privileged to serve as one of the guest speakers.

Academic Activities in Sabo-Oniba and Lagos Island

The academic work in both centers has remained steady over the past quarter, by the grace of God.

At the Lagos Island Center, a total of 21 courses have been completed so far. In the last quarter, Ibanga Udoh taught 2 Corinthians. Femi Adewuyi handled How We Got the Bible. Augustine Ani led four-week classes on Christian Evidences. The center currently has 10 students, with 7 actively attending classes.

At the Sabo Oniba Center, there are 16 students, with 14 maintaining consistent attendance. Suleiman Yusuf had a rewarding experience teaching Homiletics II. Chinyere Okoro handled Personal Evangelism. Noel Brain Otuwho taught Denominational Doctrines. The depth of learning, fellowship, and spiritual growth in these sessions has been remarkable. We pray that God will continue to strengthen the brotherhood and sustain this training program effectively for years to come.

Campaign Work

The Lagos Island Church of Christ organized a successful evangelism campaign during the quarter. We conducted door-to-door evangelism in the Police Barracks, Obalende, and it was a deeply engaging outreach. A total of 15 participants joined the effort, including 8 students. We recorded 28 prospects for follow-up by the local congregation. We sincerely thank Bear Valley Bible Institute for making such practical evangelism opportunities possible, as they greatly enrich our students’ field experience and strengthen their commitment to the Lord’s work.

The Sabo Center students also participated in the Zonal Evangelism Outing, joining ministers and church members to reach souls in the Sabo community.

Lagos WBS Online Work

Our World Bible School (WBS) online ministry continues to flourish. We currently have 3 active online study helpers and 168 active students. During this quarter alone:

5,761 lessons were completed,

1,618 certificates were awarded, and

4 baptisms were recorded.

We rejoice in these results, knowing that every soul reached is a victory for the Kingdom.

Appreciation and Conclusion

We give glory to God for the progress achieved during this quarter. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the Stoney Point Church of Christ, the leadership of Bear Valley Bible Institute, and all brethren whose prayers and support keep this mission alive. As we look ahead, we pray for greater cooperation, expansion, and divine direction in all our missionary efforts. May the Lord continue to equip us for every good work and use us as instruments of light in a dark world.
