Bear Valley Bible Institute Nigeria – Benin City (Weekend Schools)
Third Quarter, 2025
Introduction
I bring warm greetings from the Bear Valley Bible Institute Nigeria, Benin City (Weekend Schools). With hearts full of gratitude, we thank God Almighty for His unfailing mercies upon us. We are equally indebted to the entire Bear Valley family for their steadfast support and encouragement. It is with great joy and humility that I present this report of the activities of the Benin City Weekend Schools for the third quarter of the year 2025. This quarter, like others before it, was marked by enriching academic progress, fruitful field work, and encouraging testimonies that reflect the ongoing impact of Christian education and training in our community.
Academic Activities
The academic program for the quarter consisted of three core courses: Personal Epistles, Christian Ethics, and Intertestamental Period. Students not only completed the coursework but also sat for examinations with commendable results. The instructors—Brothers Andrew Osatohamwen, Samuel Egboson, Daniel Fidelis, and Ogbere Danjuma—are all trained ministers and seasoned teachers who worked diligently to ensure clarity and understanding. Their commitment to excellence left no stone unturned in equipping students with sound biblical knowledge.
During this quarter, I received three speaking invitations—from West Nigeria Christian College, Bear Valley Bible Institute Nigeria–Okpanam (Delta State), Bear Valley Bible Institute Nigeria, and South West School of Evangelism Ibadan, Oyo State. These, alongside other local engagements, did not permit me to take up a teaching slot this session. Nevertheless, the instructors ably handled their responsibilities with remarkable dedication.
Field Work
The field evangelism was a remarkable highlight of the quarter. On September 5, 2025, the faculty and students collaborated with a young congregation in Ayen community, on the outskirts of Benin City, for open-air preaching and house-to-house evangelism. The turnout was impressive, with both staff and students actively participating. While no baptisms were recorded that day, many prospects promised to visit the church, and several requested follow-up studies. The prospects for growth in this area remain very high.
Student Impact
One of our students, Brother Edward Ekiugbo, a retired military officer and evangelist with over forty years of ministry experience, shared his testimony of gratitude for being part of the program. He testified that his training at the Institute has exposed him to new insights in preaching and church administration. Beyond academics, Brother Edward has become a strong promoter of the school in Benin City and a source of encouragement to younger Christians who are beginning their journey of faith.
Conclusion
The third quarter of 2025 has been both inspiring and fruitful for the Bear Valley Bible Institute Nigeria, Benin City Weekend Schools. From strong academic outcomes to meaningful field evangelism and impactful student experiences, the quarter has demonstrated the continued relevance of sound Biblical education in transforming lives and communities. As we look ahead, we remain committed to producing well-grounded ministers, encouraging congregations, and reaching the lost with the gospel of Christ. With God’s help and the unwavering support of the Bear Valley family, we are confident that the coming quarter will yield even greater harvests to the glory of God.
