First Year Complete in Bermuda

Report on the Bermuda School of Theology

Good [morning/afternoon/evening], brethren.

My name is Bro. Keithlyn Fleming, and I have the privilege of serving as the Director of the Bermuda School of Theology. It is a great honor to present this report on the work that God is accomplishing through the school in Bermuda.

First and foremost, I give all glory, honor, and praise to Almighty God. We thank Him for blessing us with the opportunity to establish the Bermuda School of Theology. We recognize that without His guidance, wisdom, and providence, none of this would have been possible. We are truly grateful for His continued blessings upon this work. As our school has just completed its first year, we look forward to starting the first term of the second year in September.

I would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to Bro. Larry Waymire and Bro. Keith Kasarjian of the Bear Valley School of Preaching. Their encouragement, guidance, and tireless efforts in helping us establish the school have been invaluable. We are especially thankful for the excellent curriculum they have provided—a course of study that is truly second to none. Their commitment to sound Biblical teaching has laid a strong foundation for the success of this school. We are equally grateful to the leadership of the Brighton Hill Road Church of Christ and our Evangelist, Bro Paul Richards, for their unwavering support and encouragement. Their confidence in this work and their willingness to stand behind it have been a tremendous blessing to both the school and its students. Special thanks are also extended to all of the facilitators who have willingly sacrificed their time and shared their knowledge with our students. Their dedication and love for the Lord’s work have greatly enriched the learning experience. We sincerely thank Bro. Larry Waymire, Bro. Chad Wagner, Bro. Thadeous Bruno, Bro. Akeem Joseph, Bro. Kingsley Burch, and Bro. Dominic DeSantos for their faithful service and excellent instruction. Their investment in these students will continue to bear fruit for years to come.

The Bermuda School of Theology is unique in both its structure and its commitment to Biblical education. Our classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This schedule allows students to pursue a rigorous course of study while balancing the demands of work, family, and congregational responsibilities. Each student has made a remarkable commitment to complete the five-year program required to satisfy the academic standards of the Bear Valley School of Preaching curriculum. This commitment reflects not only their desire to grow in knowledge but also their determination to prepare themselves for greater service in the Kingdom of God. Our student body consists primarily of mature adults ranging in age from their early thirties to their late sixties. Attendance generally ranges between 12 and 16 students in each class. Approximately 80 percent of our students maintain full-time employment, working at least a 40-hour work week, yet they continue to faithfully attend classes and dedicate themselves to serious Bible study. Their perseverance and discipline are truly commendable. Among our students are two men currently serving as elders-in-training, both of whom are actively preaching. Several others are already serving as Bible class teachers within their congregations. The remaining students consistently express how much they value the school because it is helping them gain a deeper understanding of God’s Word, strengthen their faith, and develop the confidence needed to teach others and evangelize effectively. It has been encouraging to witness the spiritual growth taking place within our students. As they increase in Biblical knowledge, they are also growing in faith, confidence, and their willingness to serve the Lord’s church. This is precisely the purpose for which the Bermuda School of
theology was established—to equip faithful Christians with the knowledge and skills necessary to rightly divide the Word of Truth and to serve Christ more effectively.

As we look to the future, we pray that God will continue to bless this work, strengthen our faculty and students, and open even more doors for Biblical education throughout Bermuda. We remain committed to training faithful men and women who will serve the Lord with humility, conviction, and a steadfast commitment to the truth of His Word.
In closing, I would once again like to thank God for His abundant blessings, the Bear Valley School of Preaching for their partnership, the leadership of the Brighton Hill Road Church of Christ for their steadfast support, our facilitators for their faithful teaching, and our students for their dedication and perseverance.

Please continue to remember the Bermuda School of Theology in your prayers as we strive to prepare workers for the Lord’s harvest. We are confident that the seeds being planted today will, by God’s grace, produce fruit for generations to come.
