ACTIVITY REPORT

Bear Valley Bible Institute – Togo

We give thanks to Almighty God for His sustaining grace, protection, and faithfulness throughout the month of July 2026. This month marked the full resumption of classes for our second academic term and a renewed rhythm of biblical instruction, practical evangelism, and service to local congregations.

We remain deeply grateful to our sponsors and ministry partners whose prayers, encouragement, and financial support continue to make this work possible. Through your partnership, faithful men are being trained to preach the Gospel, strengthen the church, and prepare for future evangelistic and church-planting efforts throughout Togo.

I. Second Academic Term: Program of Study

Classes resumed on July 3, 2026, and the second term is now well underway.

Second Term
July 3 – October 30, 2026

The following seven courses are being taught during this term:

·         Biblical Geography — Cephas

·         How We Got the Bible — Kpelevi

·         Old Testament 5 – Minor Prophets — Nicodeme

·         Marriage and Family Life — Cephas

·         Pastoral Epistles — Kpelevi

·         Church History — Fidèle

·         Hebrews — Fidèle

These courses are designed to deepen the students’ understanding of Scripture while equipping them for faithful leadership, sound doctrine, and effective ministry in the Lord’s church.

II. Evangelism and Congregational Service

One of the defining strengths of the Bear Valley program remains the close integration of classroom instruction with practical ministry.

Every Friday, all students participate in organized evangelistic outreach to assist in the growth of local congregations in the surrounding region. We continue to remind the students that evangelism is not secondary to their training; it is central to the calling of an evangelist. An evangelist is a soldier of Christ, and his first responsibility is to answer the charge of his Master: to seek and save the lost.

In addition to Friday outreach, students are assigned every Sunday and Wednesday to local congregations for preaching, teaching, and leadership responsibilities. They go two-by-two, following a rotating schedule, and each student is required to submit a written report after every assignment. This practice strengthens accountability, develops ministry discipline, and gives each man valuable hands-on experience in the work of the church.

By God’s grace, two baptisms were recorded this month across our three ministry centers. We rejoice over every soul that obeys the Gospel and are encouraged by these visible fruits of the students’ labor.

III. Teaching Standards and Bear Valley Methodology

We continue to place strong emphasis on maintaining the instructional standards of the Bear Valley program.

All teachers are regularly reminded to follow the Bear Valley teaching methodology, which requires students to build their own course notebooks through careful note-taking during class. In this way, each lesson becomes a course manuscript that the student himself has developed through active participation and attentive study.

The teaching documents used by the instructors are not distributed at the beginning of the course. Rather, they are given to the students only after the course has been completed, serving as supplemental material rather than a substitute for classroom engagement and note-taking.

In addition, all instructors are expected to understand, master, and faithfully apply the Laws of Teaching in their classes. Ongoing oversight is provided to ensure that each teacher respects the Bear Valley program and maintains a consistent standard of instruction throughout the Institute.

IV. Student Enrollment and Discipline

At present, our student enrollment stands at twelve (12).

During the month, three (3) students were dismissed from the school because of repeated disorder that disrupted the work and peace of the Institute. The instructors made several efforts to correct them and restore them to proper conduct, but these efforts did not produce the needed change.

For the sake of order, testimony, and the seriousness of ministerial training, the decision was made to remove them from the program. However, the possibility remains for their return in the future if they demonstrate genuine change in behavior and become good examples.

While such actions are never easy, they are necessary to preserve the discipline, integrity, and spiritual atmosphere required for the training of gospel workers.

V. Ongoing Development of Ministry Teams in Togo

The leadership of the Institute continues to work diligently to improve the effectiveness of ministry teams across Togo.

At present, nine partner teaching programs are already functioning, and course materials are distributed to them each month. We are working to strengthen these efforts so that biblical instruction may continue to spread in an organized, consistent, and fruitful manner.

These ongoing initiatives are helping extend the reach of biblical teaching and creating additional opportunities for evangelistic growth in various parts of the country.

VI. Preparation for the 2027 Academic Year

As we look ahead, registration forms have already been sent to various locations for the enrollment of new candidates for the 2027 academic year.

This early preparation will help us identify serious men for future training and allow us to organize the coming year more effectively. We pray that the Lord will continue to raise up workers who are committed to truth, discipline, and faithful service in His kingdom.

VII. Looking Ahead

As the second term progresses, our priorities remain clear:

·         to maintain the quality and consistency of biblical instruction,

·         to preserve discipline and seriousness among the students,

·         to strengthen regular evangelistic outreach,

·         to support the growth of local congregations,

·         to ensure that all instructors follow Bear Valley methodology,

·         to improve the work of ministry teams throughout Togo,

·         and to prepare for the recruitment of future students for 2027.

We remain committed to training evangelists who are biblically grounded, spiritually disciplined, and wholly devoted to seeking and saving the lost.

Conclusion

The month of July has been a month of renewed academic activity, continued evangelistic outreach, and careful efforts to strengthen the work of the Institute both inside and outside the classroom.

We thank God for the resumption of classes, for the opportunities to train men for ministry, for the assistance being provided to local congregations, and for the souls who continue to hear and obey the Gospel.
