Students Participate in Outdoor Evangelism
BEAR VALLEY BIBLE INSTITUTE
Umuahia Center, Abia State, Nigeria
INTRODUCTION
The second quarter of the year has been both productive and eventful, marked by significant academic, evangelistic, and developmental activities. We are grateful to God for His guidance and faithfulness throughout the period under review.
ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES
In keeping with our academic schedule, the Institute successfully conducted its monthly course. Both students and instructors demonstrated commendable commitment to their respective responsibilities.
During the month of May, we had the privilege of hosting Brother Usim Solomon of the Nigerian Institute of Arts and Theological Studies (NIATS), who taught a course on the Historical Books of the Old Testament. The instructor carried out his assignment with passion and excellence, while the students actively participated and displayed great enthusiasm throughout the duration of the course.
EVANGELISM
Our quarterly outdoor evangelism was conducted on the third Saturday of May. The students participated enthusiastically, reaching out to communities around our meeting center.
The students were encouraged to identify themselves as Bear Valley Bible Institute students engaged in practical evangelistic training. This approach was well received by members of the public, who welcomed them warmly and listened attentively to their presentations. Several valuable contacts were established for future follow-up and discipleship efforts.
PRISON EVANGELISM
One of our female students continues to receive encouragement and support from the Institute in her prison ministry among female inmates within our locality.
During her most recent visit, she reported that approximately six inmates expressed a desire to be baptized. Prison authorities have granted approval for her to return on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, with specific sanitary materials required to facilitate the baptism using the facility's makeshift baptistry. Due to institutional regulations, only a female minister is permitted to conduct ministry among the female inmates.
The Institute is assisting with the necessary materials and logistics to support this important outreach effort. We look forward to sharing the outcome in our next report.
In addition, another student, with the support of the Institute, has begun assisting a local congregation on a weekly basis. This opportunity enables him to apply practically the Biblical and ministry principles he is learning through his studies.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND ENHANCEMENT OPPORTUNITIES
We are pleased to report that two members of our teaching staff—the Center Director and another instructor—have successfully completed their third year of the Bachelor of Ministry program at WNCC, Abeokuta. They are expected to complete the program during the next academic session, commencing in August/September 2026.
Furthermore, in late March 2026, the Center Director, Brother Oji O. Oji, participated in the first National Directors' Conference held at WNCC, Abeokuta. The conference was a well-attended capacity-building event that provided valuable opportunities for learning, networking, and strategic planning.
As part of the conference benefits, the international leadership of Bear Valley Bible Institute generously donated a world-class digital library and several cartons of books to the Umuahia Center. These resources will greatly enhance the teaching and learning experience of both instructors and students.
We are also encouraged to report that three new students enrolled during the second quarter of the year as a result of our sustained promotional and awareness efforts. This brings the total student enrollment to thirty-three (33), with additional prospects currently being engaged.
CONCLUSION
Overall, the period under review was characterized by meaningful achievements, growth, and opportunities, despite the challenges encountered along the way. By the grace of God, we continue to make steady progress in fulfilling our mission of training faithful servants for effective Christian ministry.
We express our sincere appreciation to the sponsors and supporters of this noble program for your unwavering commitment to the advancement of the Gospel worldwide, particularly here in Nigeria. Your partnership continues to make a significant impact on the lives of students, churches, and communities.
We pray that our Heavenly Father will abundantly bless you, strengthen you, and provide all that is needed to sustain this important work until the Gospel reaches every corner of the world.
Respectfully Submitted,
Brother Oji O. Oji
