New students arrive in Gweru, Zimbabwe
MAY 2026 NARRATIVE REPORT
INTRODUCTION
The month of May has been a month of significant progress and renewed momentum for Bear Valley Bible Institute Zimbabwe (BVBIZ). A new student body has commenced training, our field evangelism teams have achieved remarkable outreach results, and the school has made major strides in addressing its long-standing transportation challenges. Additionally, the generosity of our supporters, partners and alumni continues to strengthen our operational capacity. This report provides a detailed account of academic activities, field practicum outcomes, vehicle acquisition, fundraising updates, and resource contributions received during the month.

2.0 THE NEW STUDENTS
Of the 15 students accepted into the 2026–2028 class, 10 arrived on campus and are actively participating in the program. Five did not show up. However, the school has kept the door open until the end of June 2026 for any outstanding students who may still wish to join. Detailed student profiles will be shared in the next monthly report.
3.0 FIELD PRACTICUM REPORT
BVBIZ lays a strong emphasis on evangelism. It defines the school. This practical program component continued to produce outstanding results in May. Students were deployed across multiple communities, where their tireless efforts yielded disciples, conversions, edification, teaching, and restorations. Notably, six individuals were baptized into Christ and one was restored to the faith — a powerful demonstration of the direct kingdom impact of this program. There were 6 conversions, 2 restorations, 22 sermons preached, and 178 prospects besides those taught in groups at clinics and schools. The school commends all students and supervisors for their dedication in the field during this period. It appreciates hosting congregations for providing food, transportation and accommodation to the students as well. This is a great partnership that the school continues to emphasize. The following are some of the pictures sent from the field.
4.0 NEW ARRIVAL
BVBIZ has long faced a critical operational challenge due to inadequate transportation. After sustained efforts to address this need, we are thrilled to announce that the school has successfully purchased a Toyota Hiace van/combi. This vehicle will dramatically improve the school's ability to transport students and staff in support of all programs and evangelistic activities. We extend our deepest and most sincere gratitude to the Woodland Oaks Church of Christ for providing the funding required to make this purchase possible.
5.0 DONATIONS
5.1 CATTLE FEED, FRUIT TREES & HERBICIDES
BVBIZ continues to benefit from the loyalty and generosity of its alumni network and other partners. Gray Ndoro, a 2021 BVBIZ graduate who has consistently served as a valued agricultural consultant for the school, made a meaningful donation this month. His contribution comprised fruit trees, herbicides, and a species of highly nutritious grass specifically selected to serve as a dietary supplement for the school's cattle herd. The grass has already been planted across campus and is expected to significantly enhance the nutritional intake of our livestock.
Gray's story is an inspiring example of what BVBIZ produces. After graduating in 2021, he pursued further studies at an agricultural college, earning a Diploma in Agriculture, and currently serves as a farm manager very close to BVBIZ. He is presently advancing his academic credentials further, pursuing a degree in Animal Husbandry at Midlands State University. Despite his busy schedule, Gray continues to give back to the institution that shaped him. We are profoundly grateful for his commitment to BVBIZ and how he continuously offers his services to the school.
5.2 FRUITS AND FRUIT TREES
In 2019 and 2020, when BVBIZ was still operating from town, we offered accommodation to Fortune Mbofana, one of the preachers preaching in the Chipinge area. During those years, he was furthering his Music studies at Midlands State University. Several years after graduating, he remembered this act, insignificant to BVBIZ but significant to him. He sent a package full of fruits (oranges, naartjies and lemons) and 4 banana fruit trees to initiate a banana project in the school. Both students and staff benefited from this gift. The school remains grateful to him. The bananas have since been planted.
CONCLUSION
May 2026 stands as a month of tangible progress on multiple fronts for BVBIZ. A new generation of preachers has begun their training journey; six souls were added to the Lord through the faithful evangelistic work of our students; a long-needed vehicle has been acquired; and our agricultural operations have been strengthened through the generosity of dedicated alumni and well-wishers. Words fail to appreciate Woodland Oaks Church of Christ enough. These achievements reported on are a direct result of the partnership between the school, its students, its supporters, and the wider brotherhood. We remain deeply committed to our mission of training sound, capable gospel preachers who will take the message of Christ to every corner of Zimbabwe and beyond. We continue to solicit your prayers, your encouragement, and your material support as we press forward in this vital work. To God be the glory for all that is being accomplished through this institution and the partners who continue to propel the school.
