Successful Academic Activites in Sabo-Oniba, Nigeria

SABO ONIBA / LAGOS ISLAND CENTERS REPORT (February – April 2026)

Introduction

We give thanks to God for His continued grace and faithfulness in sustaining His Kingdom. It remains a privilege to serve in His work and to be found useful in advancing the mission of the Church. The Sabo-Oniba Study Center continues to make steady progress as it prepares to graduate its first set of students by the end of the next quarter. This milestone is a significant step toward strengthening Kingdom work in the region. Additionally, there are ongoing plans to expand the Lagos Island Study Center into the New Lagos area. We request your prayers as we pursue this vision and trust God for its successful realization.

Academic Activities

During this reporting period, academic activities progressed well across both study centers. At the Sabo-Oniba Study Center, we are currently running the 46th course. Instruction included Islamic Studies taught by Ilori Gbenga, Foundations of Mission led by Bro. Mfon Etim, and Congregational Development taught by Akanimoh A. The enrollment of three new students is encouraging and provides hope for the continuity of the center beyond the graduation of the first cohort. At the Lagos Island Study Center, academic programs were equally productive. The Preacher and His Work course was led by Femi Adewuyi, Acts of the Apostles was taught by Ibanga Udoh, and Christian Ethics was handled by Augustine Ani.

There is a deliberate effort to extend the center’s reach into the New Lagos axis, spanning Ajah to Lakwe, where there are currently over ten congregations, with more emerging. While some of these congregations are non-institutional, it is anticipated that many will embrace the opportunity for structured training.

Campaign Program

A successful evangelism campaign was conducted in the Mile 2–Badagry area. A total of 55 participants were present, including 17 students. The team engaged in door-to-door outreach, resulting in 28 prospects identified for follow-up by the local congregation. This initiative provided valuable practical experience for students and strengthened evangelistic efforts in the community.

The quarter also featured key events such as the SWSE Annual Lectureship and the Great Workshop held at WNCC, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

WBS Online Study Helper

We thank God for the opportunity for Tim Iwe to serve as an online Study Helper in the World Bible School (WBS) program. During the last Great Workshop, it was confirmed by the President of WBS that he currently has the highest number of online students among helpers outside the United States. This recognition serves as strong encouragement for continued commitment to digital evangelism.

At present, there are 161 active online students, with 5 baptisms recorded during the quarter.

Conclusion

We thank God for the progress recorded in Lagos, Nigeria. We humbly request your continued prayers as we also uphold you in prayer.

Tim Iwe (BVBIN–EPC)

Director, Sabo Oniba / Lagos Island Study Centers
