INTRODUCTION
The Bear Valley Bible Institute, Okpanam Study Centre, continues to pursue its mission of equipping men and women with sound Biblical knowledge and practical ministry skills for effective gospel work. The First Quarter of 2026 was marked by active evangelism engagement, academic advancement, and spiritual growth among students and instructors. This report highlights the evangelism outreach activities, academic progress, and overall outcomes recorded during the quarter.
EVANGELISM OUTREACH REPORT – JANUARY
During the month of January 2026, Bear Valley Bible Institute, in collaboration with the Church of Christ, Amachai, Okpanam, successfully carried out a series of evangelism outreach activities aimed at spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ and strengthening the faith of Christians. The Church of Christ, Amachai served as the host congregation and provided both spiritual and logistical support throughout the outreach.
The outreach was structured to combine practical evangelism training for students with direct gospel engagement in the community. It also provided an opportunity for students to apply classroom teachings in real-life ministry settings.
EVANGELISM ACTIVITIES
1. Open-Air Lectureship
An open-air lectureship was conducted at the Okpanam Roundabout, a strategic and busy public location chosen to maximize outreach visibility and engagement.
One of the students, Brother Henry Nwaose, delivered a well-prepared and impactful lesson titled:
“The Church of Christ and the Plan of Salvation of Mankind”
The message emphasized biblical teachings on salvation, repentance, faith, baptism, and the restoration of New Testament Christianity.
This activity also served as a practical training platform for students in:
Public preaching and teaching
Confidence building in evangelism
Scriptural articulation in public settings
Attendance at the Open-Air Lectureship:
9 students of Bear Valley Bible Institute
4 instructors
Members of the host congregation
Other visiting brethren from surrounding areas
Approximately 40 participants in total
The audience engagement was encouraging, with attentive listeners and meaningful interactions following the message delivery.
2. Tract Distribution & House-to-House Evangelism
In addition to the open-air preaching, a coordinated evangelism effort was carried out in surrounding neighbourhoods.
While one group engaged in public preaching, another team distributed gospel tracts to passersby and residents. These tracts contained biblical teachings on salvation, the Church of Christ, and Christian living.
Simultaneously, a separate group conducted house-to-house (door-knocking) evangelism. This approach allowed for personal engagement, direct conversations, and the opportunity to answer questions from individuals in their homes.
This multi-layered approach significantly expanded the reach of the gospel message within the community.
3. Closing Fellowship
At the conclusion of the outreach activities, all participants gathered at the meeting place of the host congregation, Church of Christ, Amachai.
The session ended in a spirit of unity and thanksgiving, as brethren:
Sang hymns of praise
Offered prayers of gratitude to God
Shared reflections on the day’s evangelism work
This closing fellowship strengthened the bond among participants and encouraged continued commitment to gospel work.
FOLLOW-UP AND OUTCOME REPORT
As part of the outreach strategy, contact information and names of interested prospect were collected for follow-up by the host congregation.
Approximately 50 names were recorded and handed over for follow-up visitation and teaching.
