Students in Port Harcourt continue Field Work

BEAR VALLEY BIBLE INSTITUTE: Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria
FIRST QUARTER REPORT (JANUARY – MARCH 2026)
EVANGELISTIC WORK, ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES, AND INSTITUTIONAL PROGRESS

1. INTRODUCTION

We give thanks to God for His continued blessings upon the work of Bear Valley Bible Institute in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. The first quarter of 2026 has been a very encouraging period for the school. Through the efforts of our students, teachers, and the support of brethren who partner with us, the gospel continues to reach many people, and the training of future preachers and teachers continues to grow.

2. STUDENTS’ PRACTICAL FIELD EVANGELISM

In January 2026, our students were sent out for practical field work through our two training centers. This field program is an important part of our training because it allows students to practice what they have learned in the classroom.

The new students went out for two weeks of field work, while the old students spent four weeks in their evangelistic assignments. During this time, they worked closely with local congregations and communities, teaching the gospel and encouraging the brethren.

3. EVANGELISTIC RESULTS

We are thankful to report that the efforts of the students produced encouraging results. By the grace of God, nineteen (19) people were baptized into Christ during this period. In addition, six (6) members who had fallen away were restored back to the fellowship of the church.

We rejoice for these souls and give all the glory to God for the power of the gospel.

4. MINISTRY ACTIVITIES DURING FIELD WORK

The students were involved in many different forms of ministry while they were in the field.

Our female students conducted Bible classes for the sisters, teaching and encouraging them in their Christian faith.

Our male students were involved in preaching sermons, teaching Bible classes, organizing house-to-house evangelism, and conducting open-air gospel meetings. These activities helped strengthen the congregations where they worked and also gave the students valuable experience in gospel ministry.

5. ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES AT THE SCHOOL

Academic work at the school continues steadily. Weekly lectures are held every Friday and Saturday. During these sessions, the students receive instruction in Bible knowledge, preaching, and Christian leadership. The students continue to show dedication and enthusiasm in their studies.

6. IMPROVEMENT OF OUR TEACHERS

We are also happy to report that our teachers have improved greatly in their teaching. One major reason for this improvement is the degree program we are currently pursuing through West Nigeria Christian College and School of Biblical Studies (WNCC).

The training we receive through this program has strengthened our instructors and helped them develop better teaching methods and a deeper understanding of the Scriptures. This has greatly benefited the students and the overall quality of instruction at the school.

7. APPRECIATION TO OUR SUPPORTERS

We are deeply grateful to our American supporters who continue to assist this work. Your support for the teaching program and the degree program has made a great impact on the training of gospel preachers here in Nigeria.

Because of your partnership, students are being trained, congregations are being strengthened, and souls are hearing the gospel. We truly appreciate your generosity and your commitment to the work of the Lord.

8. CONCLUSION

The first quarter of 2026 has been a very encouraging time for Bear Valley Bible Institute. We remain committed to training faithful men and women who will preach and teach the gospel throughout Nigeria and beyond.
