BVBI in Umuahia Celebrates First Formal Matriculation Ceremony

MARCH 2026 REPORT

Bear Valley Bible Institute Nigeria (BVBIN)

Umuahia Center, Abia State

PREAMBLE

The year 2026 has begun on a note of renewed hope and enthusiasm, for which we give all glory and honor to God. Both the students and instructors have continued their work with remarkable commitment and high morale. The atmosphere within the institute has been one of cooperation, dedication, and spiritual growth.

We are also grateful for the consistent support of the host congregation, whose members and leaders have demonstrated genuine interest in the progress of the school. From time to time, some of their leaders visit the center to check on our welfare and offer assistance where necessary, particularly with matters relating to the building and facility maintenance. Their concern and partnership have been a source of encouragement to both staff and students.

SCHOOLING ACTIVITIES

Academic activities have progressed smoothly according to the approved schedule. Courses have been taught in the planned sequence, and the students have shown commendable seriousness toward their studies.

At the beginning of the year, we were privileged to host a guest instructor, Brother Solomon Usim, who handled the first course in January titled Personal Evangelism I. His sessions were both practical and enlightening. Many students who previously believed they were already well-versed in evangelism methods expressed surprise and appreciation as they discovered more effective and structured approaches to personal evangelism. His teaching opened their eyes to deeper strategies and renewed their passion for soul-winning.

Other instructors also carried out their responsibilities diligently in accordance with the timetable. In the month of February, Brother Orji Onyeanulam taught the course Public Speaking. During his sessions, he carefully guided the students through the fundamentals of speech preparation, delivery techniques, and effective communication in preaching and teaching. His practical drills and exercises helped the students build confidence and improve their presentation skills.

EVANGELISM IN INTER-COLLEGIATE COOPERATION

Early in February, the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Theological Studies (NIATS) invited our institute to participate in their Annual Bible Lectures, which took place on Friday and Saturday, February 6th and 7th.

Our students responded enthusiastically to the invitation and attended in good numbers. During the event, they actively participated in both indoor and outdoor evangelism programs, contributing meaningfully to the outreach efforts. Although we were unable to remain for the entire two days due to our regular Saturday classes, the experience proved to be both enriching and spiritually uplifting for the students.

On this note, it is important to commend the wise decision of the Bear Valley management in appointing Brother Solomon Ifeanyichukwu Usim as the Director of NIATS at such a strategic time. With the backing and support of Bear Valley, he has already elevated the institution to a commendable level within a relatively short period of leadership. From all indications, this transformation will continue as long as he receives the necessary encouragement and support from the sponsors.

FIRST MATRICULATION CEREMONY

After eight months of operation, the Bear Valley Bible Institute Nigeria, Umuahia Center, is delighted to announce its first formal matriculation ceremony, scheduled to hold on Saturday, March 7th, 2026.

This moment represents a significant milestone in the life of the institute. We have journeyed from the early days of uncertainty—when we wondered whether the school would eventually become a reality—to this joyous stage where we can formally present our students for matriculation.

While giving all glory to God for His guidance and provision, the management, staff, and students of this center express profound gratitude to the Bear Valley proprietorship for turning this vision into reality. Your confidence, sacrifice, and investment in theological education have made it possible for this center to exist and grow.

CONCLUSION

As we celebrate this important milestone, we remain deeply aware that the work before us is both sacred and demanding. By the grace of God, my team and I are fully committed to steering this institution toward fulfilling the noble objectives for which it was established.

We pledge to continue nurturing students who will faithfully proclaim the gospel, strengthen congregations, and expand the reach of God's kingdom. With the continued support of Bear Valley, the host congregation, and other partners in the gospel, we are confident that the Umuahia Center will continue to grow as a strong training ground for dedicated gospel preachers and Christian leaders.

Indeed, the journey has begun well, and we look forward with faith and determination to even greater accomplishments in the months and years ahead as we strive together to ensure that the saving message of the gospel reaches all people.
