BVBI in Tamale, Ghana, Hosts Several Seminars
BEAR VALLEY INSTITUTE OF BIBLICAL STUDIES, TAMALE - GHANA
DECEMBER 2025 OPERATING REPORT
The faithfulness of the Lord remains unchanged for us. His mercies continue to remain fresh upon us in all the things we do each day in and out. We are pleased to report on the happenings in Tamale for the month of December 2025.
SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
With the students on break, we are doing all things possible to maintain the facility, compound, and all flowers and trees which profit the school. We are also putting things in place for our dry season irrigation work. By far, all is well with the entire school.
VISITATION
In the month of December, brother James Legend embarked on a series of visitations to different regions to edify and strengthen some local congregations. He embarked on a visitation journey within the Northern Region, Upper West, and the Savannah Regions, respectively. In the upper East Region, where he fellowships with the Denugu congregation, there was a challenge relating to one fundamental doctrinal issue which was addressed. There was a division where some of the members thought that the Lord's Supper wasn’t mandatory on the Lord’s Day, but could be taken as and when it was available. Brother James spent a great deal of time teaching on the Lord's Supper, where there was a great clarity after the teaching. This prompted the need to visit many congregations to try to observe things, and it indeed turned out that a few congregations also partake in the Lord’s table based on availability. We are currently doing our best to teach all congregations on the importance of the Lord’s supper and making efforts to supply some congregations that find it difficult to access it.
James Legend also visited the Nahari Zirri congregation, where he accessed the worship chapel that has been raised by the local congregation.
REVIVAL SEMINAR
A one-day revival seminar was held in the Upper West Region in collaboration with the Bear Valley Tamale campus. This seminar was meant to revive members of the Lord’s church on our responsibility towards the lost. It was held at the Lawra church of Christ auditorium. Representatives of various congregations across the Upper West, both men, women, and children were present. It was a very effective seminar, and we hope there will be positive results from it.
As an Institution that trains preachers, it is mandated to collaborate with all congregations of the Lord’s church to have stronger congregations that would fulfill their responsibilities as expected by our master Jesus. It is our hope that as we strengthen and collaborate with these congregations, they will grow to see the need for them to contribute to the training of preachers as well.
NORTHERN ANNUAL WOMEN CONFERENCE
The annual women's conference in the Northern Region was also held successfully in the month of December 2025. The program brought together women from a number of congregations across the breadth and length of Northern Ghana. This year's program was centered on the Christian home. The program ended with a joint worship which brought together all congregations in Tamale.
LEADERSHIP TRAINING
The Zabzugu evangelistic team continued their leadership training program in the month of December to end the year 2025. Currently, eighteen (18) consistent leaders are being trained to help care for the newer congregations that are being planted. These leaders are being taken through some major doctrines of Christ (2 John 1:9) and some qualities of a spiritual leader in the Lord’s Church. A lot of progress has been made so far with programs, as some of these leaders have started taking up serious responsibilities. It is our hope that similar programs start in different parts of Ghana, as it also doubles as an avenue for recruiting students.
In December, an empowerment seminar was also held in the Zabzugu area to strengthen the congregations around this part of the North. This program brought members of the church from different congregations across the Zabzugu area. The program was focused on unity in fulfilling our call and congregations. Many participants were grateful to the preachers’ training school in Tamale for such a productive program. They seek more of such programs to be held moving forward.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Love of God, and the sweet fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all; Amen.
Thank you,
James Legend
