Operation Report For July - September 2026
INTRODUCTION
We are pleased to present this report on the progress of the Bear Valley Bible Institute – Liberia Extension (BVBI-L) during the first three months of the 2026–2030 academic program.
Following the completion of the Fourth Graduation and Fifth Matriculation exercises in April 2026, the school embarked on preparations for a new academic session under the Bear Valley Bible Institute Extended Program. These preparations included student recruitment, orientation, coordination of teaching staff, and the establishment of classes at our two instructional locations: Bahn and Sanniquellie, Nimba County.
Initially, the number of students recruited was encouraging. However, a significant number of prospective students resided in distant communities, making regular attendance in Sanniquellie difficult, if not impossible, due to the distance and associated transportation challenges. To accommodate these students and ensure their continued participation in the program, the administration recommended establishing an instructional session in Bahn to serve students from that region. This arrangement provided an opportunity to extend the reach of the school while making biblical education more accessible to students in remote communities.
Despite the challenges associated with launching a new academic session at two locations simultaneously, the school has made encouraging progress in student enrollment, instructional activities, and course delivery.
This report provides an overview of the school's current status, academic achievements, staffing situation, challenges, and ongoing efforts to strengthen the Extended Program and advance the mission of biblical education in Liberia.
STUDENT RECRUITMENT AND INITIAL ENROLLMENT
A total of 44 prospective students were recruited for Batch 5, 2026 – 2030 session. The recruitment was distributed between the two instructional locations as follows:
Bahn Students Recruited ------------------------- 26
Sanniquellie Students Recruited ------------------- 18
Total ------------------------------------------- 44
The school conducted its orientation program on June 30, 2026, and officially commenced classes on July 4, 2026.
At the commencement of classes, the initial attendance was as follows:
1. Bahn: 26 students
2. Sanniquellie: 12 students
Although 44 students were recruited, only 38 initially reported for classes. The administration continues to monitor student participation and encourage consistent attendance and commitment to the academic program.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTION FOR NON-MEMBERS OF THE CHURCH
In keeping with the school's educational and spiritual objectives, a number of recruited students who are not yet members of the Church of Christ have been placed in a special instructional category.
This arrangement is consistent with the school's policy of providing foundational biblical instruction to prospective students before integrating them into the regular academic program.
The objective is to help these individuals develop a sound understanding of the gospel and, through further study and personal conviction, make an informed decision regarding obedience to the gospel.
The initial distribution of these students was as follows:
1. Bahn Non-Members Receiving Special Lessons ---------------- 7
2. Sanniquellie Non-Members Receiving Special Lessons ---------- 1
Total --------------------------------------------------------- 8
These students are receiving separate lessons designed to strengthen their biblical understanding and prepare them for possible integration into the regular program if converted.
CURRENT STUDENT ENROLLMENT
As of the end of the reporting period, the school reports a total of 40 active students across both instructional locations.
The current enrollment is distributed as follows:

The administration remains encouraged by the interest in biblical education and is committed to providing students with the knowledge, spiritual formation, and practical preparation necessary for effective Christian service.
ACADEMIC PROGRESS AND COURSE DELIVERY

2. Personal Evangelism I ------------------- Completed (Instructor – Thomas Jimmy)
3. Hermeneutics I ---------------------------- Ongoing (Instructor – Bogton Pyee)

The completion of Research and Writing and Personal Evangelism-I represents meaningful progress toward the academic objectives of the new session.
The ongoing courses in Hermeneutics-I and Old Testament-I are intended to deepen students' understanding of biblical interpretation and the historical and theological foundations of Scripture.
The school remains committed to maintaining instructional quality, ensuring consistency in course delivery, and helping students apply their learning to evangelism, congregational leadership, and other areas of Christian service.
TEACHING STAFF AND ADMINISTRATIVE STRUCTURE
The school currently has five Bible teachers and two English teachers actively supporting the academic program.
The administration is also evaluating the participation of an additional Bible instructor whose involvement has been inconsistent.

6. Joel Marcus Wehye ------------- Student-Teacher – English
7. Peter Karmie --------------------- Bahn Coordinator and English Teacher
The school appreciates the contributions of all personnel who have continued to support the academic program, particularly those assisting with instruction across different locations.
EFFORTS TO STRENGTHEN THE TEACHING STAFF
Recognizing the importance of a stable and dependable instructional team, the administration continues to engage other prospective instructors to assist with the delivery of upcoming courses.
These discussions are intended to address instructional needs, improve course coverage, and ensure that students at both Bahn and Sanniquellie receive adequate academic support.
Once these discussions have been concluded and the necessary arrangements finalized, the administration will provide a further update regarding the additional instructors and their respective responsibilities.
CHALLENGES AND AREAS REQUIRING ATTENTION
While the school has made encouraging progress, several areas require continued attention.
1. Student participation and retention: Not all recruited students reported when classes commenced. In addition, three students at Sanniquellie withdrew after the initial attendance. Continued follow-up is necessary to encourage regular attendance and retention.
2. Instructional coordination: Operating simultaneously at Bahn and Sanniquellie requires effective communication, planning, and coordination to maintain uniform academic standards.
3. Additional teaching support: The administration is working to secure more instructors to strengthen course delivery.
4. Spiritual formation: The special instructional arrangement for non-members requires continued attention to ensure that these students receive appropriate foundational teaching to make an informed decision regarding obedience to the gospel.
The administration is actively addressing these concerns through continued planning, communication, and engagement with prospective instructors and other stakeholders.
CONCLUSION
The first three months of the 2026–2030 academic session have been a period of meaningful progress for Bear Valley Bible Institute – Liberia Extension.
The successful commencement of classes at both Bahn and Sanniquellie, the completion of two courses, and the continued participation of students and instructors demonstrate the school's commitment to its mission of providing sound biblical education.
Although challenges remain, particularly in the areas of staffing and student participation, the administration remains hopeful and determined to address these matters through careful planning and continued cooperation.
We sincerely appreciate the encouragement, guidance, prayers, and support of the West Africa Coordinator, our teaching staff, local congregations, and all those who continue to invest in the work of biblical education in Liberia.
Our ultimate objective remains unchanged: to equip faithful men and women with sound biblical knowledge and practical skills for effective evangelism, congregational leadership, and service in the Kingdom of God.
We look forward to continued growth and improvement as we work together to advance the cause of Christian education and the Great Commission.
Respectfully submitted,
