BVBI in Yangon, Myanmar, Continues Efforts
Dear brethren,
Happy New Year to you from Myanmar. The Lord has been good to us. I hope and pray that this New Year brings you good health and blessings for more service in the Lord.
We began our New Year by burying our beloved and honored brother Kyaw Sein. The past year was not easy, but not wasted.
The military regime is holding elections in three phases: first on December 28, 2025. The second phase will be on January 11, and the third phase will be on January 25. Officials have indicated that the results may be announced by the end of January 2026, but exact dates for counting and announcement are still pending.
We were able to open Myanmar Bible College classes five times: twice in Pyay, once in Taunggyi, once in Mandalay, and once in Thanlyin.
Mandalay evangelism work with brother Peter and Hlaine Htet, through earthquake relief work and school, resulted in the salvation of 15 souls.
We were able to do one session of Bear Valley Bible Institute in Hmawbi for two weeks and covered two subjects: The Foundation of Mission and Congregational Development.
Visiting churches in the eastern part of Shan State was a great blessing for us and for the brethren there.
The work in Than Lyin with brother Hnin Maung resulted in the salvation of four souls.
The relief work for the refugees and the victims of the earthquake in Myanmar has been going reasonable and five souls gave their lives to the Lord on last Sunday in Padan, Ngaphe township, Magway Region, and three souls were added to the Lord in Mandalay.
I have another opportunity to be the Bible course teacher at the World English Institute online class that we have been offering via Zoom since 2021. We were able to complete the Intermediate course and Advance Course every year. The Keizer Church of Christ has been supporting this program.
I am making plans for 2026 to reopen our schools as much as possible.
Above all else, I count myself fortunate to be a part of God's family and to be accepted as one of your co-workers in the vineyard of the Lord. Thankful for the opportunity and appreciate your undying support.
Yours in His kingdom work,
Philip Van Biak Lian
