Doing a lot with a little in South Sudan

I believe you are all doing well. We thank God for the new month and hope it will be a good beginning to all of us. It's also a month of independence for USA and South Sudan.

Our students have returned back and the classes resumed on Monday 30th of June. We have 12 students now in the school and 3 are not yet, 1 is on his way and will hopefully be with us tomorrow. We pray they will make it back to the school.

Challenges encountered.

Road access: Due to it being the rainy season it makes it hard for students to return and that was the case being faced now by some of our students. Once it rains 80% of roads in the country are affected.

Books: We got help getting Bibles for the school last year and we gave one to each student., One of the greatest challenges we faced at the opening is that all Aweil students had given their Bibles to new congregations being started. These congregations did not have a single Bible with them and in the area. There was not even a book or Bible store available there. It's now hard for them to do assignments.

Evangelism effort.

Our students evangelized during their holiday time back home. They engaged on-one-on one, door to door evangelism, community gathering teaching, and were involved in their home congregations in preaching and teaching.

New Congregations.

Five new congregations were established in May and June by our students in Aweil west, East and Yuai of Jonglei as seen in the attached photos.

Baptism Number.

About 8 were baptized in May and 24 were baptized in June making the total of 32 souls. These was a colossal jobs done by our students during the holidays time.

I wish you happy celebrations and have a wonderful day.

Your Brother in Christ,

Jacob Ajak - SSSOP
