Evangelistic Work, Academic Activities, and Institutional Progress in Port Harcourt
BEAR VALLEY BIBLE INSTITUTE: Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria
SECOND QUARTER REPORT (MARCH – MAY 2026)
1. INTRODUCTION
We give thanks and glory to God for His continued blessings upon the work of Bear Valley Bible Institute in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. The second quarter of 2026 has been a productive and encouraging period for the school. Through the dedication of our students, teachers, and partnering congregations, the gospel continues to spread, congregations are being strengthened, and future gospel workers are being equipped for effective service in the Lord’s kingdom.
2. ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES
Academic activities continued steadily throughout this quarter. Weekly lectures were held at both the Port Harcourt and Omoku Centers. Students received instruction in Bible knowledge, Christian leadership, evangelism, church growth, and practical ministry.
The students have shown commitment to their studies and continue to demonstrate growth in their understanding of the Scriptures and their ability to teach others. We are grateful for their dedication and willingness to prepare them for future service in the Lord’s church.
3. DEVELOPMENT OF OUR TEACHERS
Our instructors continue to improve in their teaching abilities and biblical knowledge through ongoing academic development. The degree program being pursued through West Nigeria Christian College and School of Biblical Studies (WNCC) continues to provide valuable training that strengthens our teaching ministry.
As a result, classroom instruction has become more effective, benefiting both our students and the congregations they serve.
4. STUDENTS AND TEACHERS EVANGELISM OUTREACH (MAY 30, 2026)
One of the major activities of this quarter was the combined evangelism outreach conducted by our students and teachers on Saturday, May 30, 2026.
Omoku Center Outreach
The students and teachers of the Omoku Center partnered with the Church of Christ, Obosi, Omoku, in ONELGA Local Government Area of Rivers State. Together, they engaged in house-to-house evangelism, personal Bible studies, distribution of gospel materials, and community outreach.
The brethren of the congregation provided excellent support and encouragement throughout the program. The outreach created many opportunities to share the gospel with members of the community.
Port Harcourt Center Outreach
The students and teachers of the Port Harcourt Center worked with the newly established Church of Christ in Ueken, Tai Local Government Area, Rivers State.
This congregation is particularly encouraging to us because it was established by a graduate of Bear Valley Bible Institute. Furthermore, another graduate of the Institute is presently serving as a preacher in the congregation. It was a great joy for our students and teachers to work alongside these faithful graduates and support the work they are doing in the field.
The outreach involved door-to-door evangelism, personal contacts, Bible teaching, and invitations to worship services.
5. RESULTS OF THE EVANGELISM OUTREACH
We are pleased to report that the outreach produced positive results. Many individuals showed genuine interest in the gospel message and participated in discussions concerning spiritual matters.
Several prospects expressed their intention to attend worship services with the congregations, while others requested further Bible studies. We are especially encouraged that a number of individuals indicated their desire to obey the gospel through baptism after receiving additional instruction.
We pray that God will continue to bless these efforts and that many souls will be brought to Christ through the follow-up work being conducted by the local congregations.
6. IMPACT OF THE OUTREACH
The outreach not only helped spread the gospel but also provided valuable practical experience for our students. They were able to apply classroom instruction in real-life evangelistic situations and gain confidence in teaching the Word of God.
The program also strengthened the relationship between Bear Valley Bible Institute and the congregations where our graduates are serving. Seeing graduates actively involved in church planting and preaching demonstrates the effectiveness of the training program and encourages our current students to remain faithful in their preparation for ministry.
7. APPRECIATION TO OUR SUPPORTERS
We remain deeply grateful to our supporters, especially our brethren in the United States and others who continue to assist this work through prayers and financial support.
Your partnership makes it possible for students to receive biblical training, for congregations to be strengthened, and for the gospel to be preached in many communities throughout Nigeria. We sincerely thank you for your generosity and commitment to the Lord’s work.
8. CONCLUSION
The second quarter of 2026 has been another encouraging period for Bear Valley Bible Institute. We thank God for the progress of our students, the growth of our teachers, and the opportunities to preach the gospel through our evangelistic outreach efforts.
We remain committed to training faithful men and women who will preach, teach, and defend the gospel throughout Nigeria and beyond.
