Accra East Ghana celebrates graduation

First Quarter Report –April 2026

By: Peter Arhinful-Quansah
Director, Accra East Campus

April 30th, 2026

The major events for this quarter were the graduation ceremony, the church planting at Akim Subriso, and the commencement of the second batch of students at the Accra East Campus.

Graduation
The graduation ceremony took place on 7th March 2026. Out of ten students, eight graduated, making it a moment of great joy and accomplishment. We thank God for the successful completion of their training.

Out of the eight students from Accra East, five received awards: Overall Best Student, Best in Academics, Best in Evangelism, Most Promising Student, and Most Well-Behaved Student. This achievement reflects the dedication and hard work of both the students and the instructors, as well as the effectiveness of the training program.

The graduates are now equipped to serve in evangelism, church leadership, and other areas of ministry. Encouragingly, one of the students, Moses Antobam, was assigned to begin ministry work immediately after graduation. His induction service was held at Santor Central Church of Christ, where the congregation was entrusted to his care on 12th April 2026.

Church Planting
The first church planting was carried out in collaboration with the Fadama Church of Christ at Akim Subriso in the Eastern Region.

Through the efforts of the preacher at Fadama, Samuel Oppong, additional evangelism teams were organized to visit two communities, Sekyere and Subriso, from 13th to 19th April 2026. The outreach lasted one week and covered both communities. Accra East actively participated in the Subriso evangelism, which led to the successful planting of the church on Sunday, 19th April 2026.

During the outreach, many people were reached, resulting in five baptisms. On the day of the church planting, the newly established congregation recorded an attendance of 66 people, including members from nearby communities such as Sekyere, Awosoase, and Abakoase.

In discussions between the Bear Valley Accra East Director, and the Fadama preacher, Samuel Oppong, it was agreed that due to the number of surrounding communities, there is a strong need to plant additional churches in the area. However, this will require committed and well-trained men to lead these congregations.

Encouragingly, eight brethren have expressed willingness to attend preaching school. Efforts are ongoing to engage churches in two additional communities to identify more potential students. Our goal is to gather 15-20 brethren for training. Once this is achieved, we plan to engage the Bear Valley International Coordinator, Kojo Acquah, to explore the possibility of establishing a preaching school in the area, particularly at Sekyere, as it is the larger community and is strategically located along the Accra–Kumasi road.

Accra East Campus
The new academic year began in March following the graduation. A few new students have enrolled, and some students who had deferred have resumed their studies.

Currently, we have 10 students, with expectations of additional enrollment, as some prospective students have indicated interest but have not yet completed their application forms.

Attendance has been moderate so far, with an average of six students. However, we anticipate full attendance in the coming quarter.

Next Steps
• Conduct follow-up visits to strengthen the church at Subriso
• Engage remaining communities for further evangelism and leadership development
• Work toward establishing a local preaching school in the area
• Continue planned initiatives:
    o Church-planting efforts in Accra
    o Lectureship programs
    o House-to-house evangelism

These efforts reflect our continued commitment to leadership development, evangelism, and the expansion of the Lord’s church.

Conclusion

We thank God for His guidance and the progress made during this quarter. We remain committed to training faithful men and expanding the Lord’s church through evangelism and church planting.

“Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15)
