BEAR VALLEY BIBLE INSTITUTE LUSAKA

FIRST QUARTER REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2026

INTRODUCTION

On behalf of the staff from the Bear Valley Bible Institute, Lusaka, I wish to submit this First Quarter Report for the year 2026. You may note that this is the second intake of students who commenced their study program in October 2025. These students come from eight Lusaka-based congregations, such as Lusaka Central church of Christ, John Laing church of Christ, Chelstone church of Christ, Chunga church of Christ, Chilanga church of Christ, Chimwemwe church of Christ, SOS church of Christ, and Mtendere church of Christ.

COURSES COVERED

The courses covered during the quarter under review are three (Scheme of Redemption, Christian Ethics, and the Torah). The total number of courses covered so far is five.

We had twenty students who attended classes in the quarter under review.

OUTREACH PROGRAMS

Higher Learning Institutions: In the quarter being discussed, the Bear Valley Bible Institute students undertook evangelism programs at the higher learning institutions such as the University of Zambia, Eden University, Apex University, Evelyn Hone College, and the National Institute of Public Administration.

The purpose of this activity was for evangelism to the higher learning institutions. On the other hand, this activity helped the church of Christ students locate the congregations that could be near their learning institutions for worship services.

Evangelism in the Communities: In the same quarter, the staff and students undertook an evangelism exercise in the surrounding communities of the Lusaka Central church of Christ. Some of the backslidden members were visited and restored, the sick were prayed for, and others were preached to. The appointments that were made from the field were submitted to the church leadership for follow-ups.

This exercise not only increases the number of the congregation numerically, but also spiritually strengthens the individuals and families.

Prison and Hospital Visitations: In the same quarter under review, some of the students were committed to the preaching of the gospel to the incarcerated and visitation programs to the sick admitted to the local health facilities.

IN-REACH PROGRAMS

In the quarter under review, students from their respective congregations were involved in the teaching of new converts, Bible study classes, preaching, and were also instrumental in the local church activities.

BAPTISMS

In the quarter under review. The BVBI team recorded a total number of 9 baptisms from the above-mentioned outreach activities as captured from the students’ reports.

RESTORATIONS

The total number of 11 restorations was recorded in the quarter under review.
