Successful Academic Activities in Lagos
SABO ONIBA / LAGOS ISLAND CENTERS REPORT (November – January 2026)
Introduction
We give thanks to God for His continued grace and faithfulness in sustaining all who belong to His Kingdom. It remains a privilege to serve in His work and to be found useful in the Church, especially as we enter a new year of ministry and renewed commitment to Kingdom service. One of the key highlights of this reporting period was the successful handover to a new minister in the Satellite Church congregation, where I had the opportunity to serve faithfully for seventeen years. This transition marked an important milestone and was a source of great joy and fulfillment. Additionally, my visit to Jalingo, Taraba State, to participate in their first graduation ceremony provided a unique and valuable firsthand experience of mission work in an emerging context. The visit reinforced our commitment to strengthening Biblical education and supporting ministry development across different regions in Nigeria.
Academic Activities
During the past three months, academic activities progressed steadily across our study centers. At the Sabo Oniba Study Center, we are currently running Course 43, with students forming the first cohort at this location. In November, Christian Ethics was taught by Tim Iwe. In December, Bible Geography was facilitated by Israel Tajomavwo, while World Religions was taught by Emmanuel Odo. Student participation and engagement throughout these courses were encouraging.
Academic activities at the Lagos Island Study Center also recorded positive outcomes. The Scheme of Redemption was taught by Ibanga Udoh, The Book of Job was handled by Femi Adewuyi, and Homiletics I was directed by Augustine Ani. These courses were delivered effectively and contributed to the academic and spiritual development of the students. Plans are underway to visit selected congregations in the New Lagos area in March to explore opportunities for recruiting new students and expanding enrollment at the study center.
Campaign Program
As part of efforts to encourage and support young congregations, our students visited the Okeagbo congregation to assist with local evangelism and outreach activities. The congregation warmly welcomed the team, and the campaign strengthened community engagement while providing students with practical ministry experience. Some of the students also work with young congregations on Saturdays and Sundays.
Lagos WBS Online Ministry
The World Bible School (WBS) Online Ministry in Lagos continues to grow and show a positive impact. We are currently developing a dedicated online evangelism team made up of BV graduates and a staff member who is actively advancing skills in digital ministry and the use of artificial intelligence.
At present, the ministry has three active online study helpers and eighty-two active students. During this quarter, 5,861 lessons were completed, 1,653 certificates were awarded, and three baptisms were recorded. We rejoice in these outcomes, recognizing that each soul reached represents progress for the Kingdom of God.
Upcoming Program
We look forward to the largest ministers’ event in Africa, scheduled for March 2026 at WNCC.
Conclusion
We thank God for the good work ongoing in Lagos, Nigeria. We humbly request your continued prayers as we also keep you in ours.
