BVBI in Benin City, Nigeria, Celebrates Successful Year
Bear Valley Bible Institute Nigeria
Last Quarter, 2025
Greetings to our sponsors across the globe and to the entire Bear Valley family. We sincerely appreciate your unwavering spiritual, moral, and financial support, which continues to sustain and advance the work of Christian education and evangelism in Benin City and its environs.
It is with profound gratitude to God Almighty that I present the report of the activities of the Benin City Model Schools for the last quarter of the year 2025. The activities of the school during this period were structured around three core areas that reflect the holistic philosophy of Bear Valley Bible Institute: academic instruction, field evangelism, and spiritual formation.
Academic Activities
In alignment with Bear Valley’s commitment to sound Biblical scholarship and doctrinal fidelity, three core courses were offered during the quarter by dedicated and competent instructors. These courses were:
The Godhead
The Gospel of John
The Study of Islam
Instruction emphasized biblical exegesis, doctrinal clarity, and practical ministry application. The students sat for their examinations and recorded excellent performance outcomes. This outcome reflects both the diligence of the students and the effectiveness of the curriculum, which is consistent with Bear Valley’s long-standing tradition of academic excellence.
Field Work and Evangelism
As part of the institute’s commitment to experiential ministry training, Benin City Model Schools, in collaboration with the Church of Christ, Street 10, Iduowina, Upper Mission Extension, Benin City, Edo State, carried out a community evangelism outreach. Both students and faculty members actively participated in teaching, personal evangelism, and community engagement.
This outreach provided students with invaluable opportunities to apply classroom instruction in real-life ministry contexts, thus reinforcing the biblical model of disciple-making through both teaching and practice (Matthew 28:19–20; Acts 20:20).
Spiritual Exercises
Recognizing the importance of spiritual formation alongside academic training, the school introduced a 20-minute chapel session during each weekend meeting. These sessions consisted of prayers and brief exhortations delivered by students selected at random.
The introduction of these chapel exercises has significantly enhanced students’ spiritual alertness, confidence, and readiness for ministry. This initiative has proven effective in fostering discipline, devotion, and accountability among the students, in keeping with the apostolic emphasis on personal spiritual growth (1 Timothy 4:16).
Ministerial Impact and Milestones
A notable highlight of the quarter is the appointment of Brother Okuwa Eyara, one of our students, as the resident preacher of the Church of Christ, Okhumwu, Benin City. This milestone underscores the tangible impact of Bear Valley Bible Institute’s presence in Benin City.
It is also noteworthy that more than four students of the Benin City Model Schools have been called into active preaching ministry even before graduation. This development stands as a compelling testimony to the quality of training and mentorship made possible through your generous support. The resulting growth and strengthening of local congregations affirm the enduring value of investing in Christian education (2 Timothy 2:2).
Conclusion
In conclusion, the activities of the Benin City Model Schools during the last quarter of 2025 clearly demonstrate that Biblically grounded education, reinforced by practical evangelism and sustained by intentional spiritual formation, produces lasting kingdom impact. The academic achievements recorded, the communities reached through evangelism, and the ministers raised for local congregations all testify that your investment is yielding eternal dividends.
As the apostle Paul affirms, “your labor in the Lord is not in vain” (1 Corinthians 15:58). On behalf of the students, faculty, and congregations benefiting from this work, I express our heartfelt gratitude. We remain committed to greater faithfulness, effectiveness, and expansion in the coming year, trusting God to bring this good work to full fruition.
