Visakha Valley Bible College

Visakhapatnam, India

Having received a request for help in training preachers, Bear Valley President, Denny Petrillo and Ralph Williams, first visited Visakhapatnam, India in 2008. Seeing the need first-hand, the Visakha Valley Bible College began in April 2009. According to the census there is about 30 million people living in the surrounding districts and over 3 million people living in the city of Visakhapatnam. As you can see, the need is great!

The class of 2011 had 16 students who completed the required two year course. These graduates left school with a strong desire to carry out the gospel to the perishing people in their villages. Some of the students are already serving as preachers. But these men have not been waiting for graduation to serve the Lord, as they reached 34 souls in their final 6 months in school!

In addition to the undergraduate program, there is a Master's program in sight that is dedicated to academically qualifying local men to teach in the undergraduate program. There is also a women's program as well as trade education to ensure self-supported preachers for years to come.
