Uganda School of Evangelism

Busia, Uganda

    As an extension of Bear Valley Bible Institute, and under the oversight of the Woodland Oaks church of Christ, near Houston, Texas the Uganda School of Evangelism began in April, 2007. The school is located in Busia, Uganda near picturesque Lake Victoria. It began with 12 students from Uganda and neighboring Kenya. The first class graduated in November of 2009.

    Francis Wechesa, a native of Uganda, is the director of the school, and Donnie Estep is the U.S. Coordinator/Instructor. The school has now grown to 24 students, divided into two classes of 12. One class is Kiswahil and the other is English speaking. In addition to Uganda and Kenya, there are now 5 students from the Congo, as well. This new class of students is scheduled to graduate in April, 2012.

    The focus of the school is, as the name suggests, evangelism!  Since the school began, 13 new congregations have been established, and over 150 souls have been added to the Lord’s church. Equipping and training these men to preach (2 Timothy 2:2) as they lead their local churches while fulfilling the Great commission (Matthew 28:19-20) is the impetus of this preacher training program.
