Staff members from around the country meet in Colorado

Sadalia, CO - Staff members from all around the country gathered near Sedalia, Colorado to hear reports on our work around the globe. The Bear Valley Bible Institute now has preacher training schools in 18 countries and the US. Extension co-ordinators, Denver faculty and wives, came together for the annual event at the Eternal Purpose Retreat Center. Reports on the work energized those in attendance and encourage everyone. The theme for the weekend was taken from Nehemiah 4:18; The Hand of the Lord Has Been Favorable to Us. Keynote speakers included Denny Petrillo, BVBID President; Donnie Bates, Coordinator for Central and South America; and Keith Kasarjian, Assistant Director of the Extension Program.

Bear Valley is currently involved in training preachers in the U.S., Ukraine, Tanzania (2), Uganda, Kenya, Ghana (2), Togo, Cameroon, Liberia, India (2), Nepal, Cambodia, Honduras, Guatemala, Paraguay, and Nigeria. These schools are currently training 380 preachers worldwide.

Tony Johnson will be leaving for the mission field before the end of June. He will be working in Ghana, West Africa serving as a full-time instructor in the Tamale Institute of Biblical Studies. Joe Wilkie, Jason Hyde and Freddie Klein plan to continue their education at other colleges of higher learning. David and Yali Fang Wei will be doing a one-year internship with a Chinese congregation in the Houston, TX area. Travis White will be working with the church in Middle Tennessee. Jeremy and Carrie Roberts will be working with the church in Parker, Colorado.

Some in the graduating class still have 6 months before they finish the program in December, and so we don't have to say goodbye to them just yet. But they also aren't going to just take the summer off. Jack Dodgen will be traveling to Ghana to teach with Tony for a month. Jess and Katie Simpson will be doing a short intern program in TX and working with camps. Stephen and Jerri McCullom are expecting the arrival of their first child any time now and Stephen will be helping us with Future Preachers Training Camp in June.

We are p[roud of all of our graduates and look forward to how the Lord will use them for His service in the future.
