North India Preachers' Lectureship...

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

It gives me a immense pleasure to share with you that the Lord has been very kind to us and especially in these days when we were preparing and working for the above said programs. The 7th North India Preachers’ lectureship and the graduation ceremony of the NIBC, Chandigarh (Feb. 14-15) went well. We give all the glory to God and thanks for all the brothers and sisters with whose efforts and prayers this could not have happened.

Just 2 days before the lectureship, we baptized 4 souls into Christ here.

It has been a good start to begin with the NIBC to spread the borders of the Kingdom in the Northern belt, neglected field so far. NIPL is a great time of fellowship and learning especially for the brethren in Northern India. We have been getting requests from the brothers from south India also to attend this great fellowship, but so far we want to focus on the preachers from Northern India and to encourage them to be equipped with the sword of the Spirit. Out of 28 states and 7 Union territories, Brethren from Chandigarh (Union Territory), Punjab, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Orissa, Delhi, UP, MP States and from Nepal and near the Nepal border attended. From the States this time, brother Russell G. Bell, Topeka, KS and Keith Kasarjian from Alabama (BVBID) attended. We are grateful for their love and of all the supporters for this great work and field.

80 plus people attended this meeting this time and the messages from 2, 3 John and Jude were given to Indian preachers. Brother Russell spoke 4 times and brother Keith for 6 times as he also attended worship with us on Sunday. Brother Russell spoke 3 lessons in the 3 sessions on the “Assurance of Heaven.” Brother Keith spoke to encourage preachers from 3 John

On 2nd day evening, we had the graduation ceremony and though 5 people could pass this, we are sure that they will be among the total of 50 graduates so far working in different States of East and North India States, effective tools to bring many sons into the light of the Kingdom. About 200 people attended to witness this ceremony.

Still the States like Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir and West Bengal in the East are not represented yet and are in our prayers to join us, yet there is a lot of work that needs to be done in these representing States in the mission field.

Keeping in view that the preacher’s work is half done without his wife’s support, along with NIPL, the ladies' started meeting in 2011 in the Park outside the lecture (in Public place) hall, thinking that the preachers' wives should also take benefit in this great fellowship. So to help them support their husbands, we planned to teach them separately.

Sister Elsy David, New Delhi also attended for the first time and she assisted Sister Benu Earnest in encouraging preachers’ wives to be their helpmates in sharing the truth with God’s people.

The Indian speakers for this lectureship included brother Earnest Gill, Chandigarh, brother Francis David, New Delhi, brother Peter Singh, Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh), and brother Vinay David.

Next year NIPL-2014 was announced to be on February 13-14, 2014.

New Year Adds 5 Souls In India...

Dear Brother/Sister

This past year has been a great year and we are thankful to the Lord for all of His blessings in it. We also are thankful for our supporters, well wishers and fellow workers in helping us to spread the borders of the Kingdom.

Our last week also went well with a blessing. We had gone this past week for a gospel meeting in Ferozepur, Punjab. The students also went with us and they spent 4 days. During these days one young girl obeyed the Lord.

Just after the New Year greetings, one of our old students, brother Sunil, told me that they had baptized 3 people a few hours ago. Brother Nanda, our student, (his father is also working for the Lord) told that 2 more souls were baptized this week.

Altogether the new year brought for us the news of at least 5 souls obeying the Lord in this week.

We wish you all good health and may this coming year be your best yet!

100+ Baptisms In North India...

As we have entered in the last month of the year, we wonder from where to start with the abundance of blessings we received this year from our good God.

Sharing the Truth
The students are asked to go by bus to the far places and visit the nearer places on foot. As an evangelistic tool, we started last year an open gospel meeting in a rented hall. We have fixed this meeting on every first Wednesday of the month. On this day the other preachers also join us and we have a great fellowship.  In addition to that the local preachers have had meetings in their respective areas and invited other preachers including me to preach there. It helps to introduce the Church to the new people as well as new areas.

Areas of work
We have been working in Maloya, Daddu Majra Colony, PGI, Kharar (a suburb of adjoining City Mohali, Punjab), Baddi (Himachal Pradesh), Panchkula (Haryana). Students are sent as groups to evangelize and teach people. Each day our work is on.

Bombay Trip
It could be called a successful one, though there was tension in the city at the rumor of a fundamental Hindu leader’s death (92). There was a fear that they could create chaos. But everything went well by the grace of God. After I reached home, I heard that he was dead. It was the same time I landed in Chandigarh. I trust the Lord had providential care in that. I had 3 days class there and taught on the plan of salvation. Many of the denominational people attended that study and appreciated. In fact they requested me to come again in March next year to teach them.

Wedding Bells
Brother Muan and Mary were married last month. Muan is a member here and worships with us but Mary is in Ahmadabad, Gujarat. She is working in Military service and expects to move to Chandigarh.

Preparing for the upcoming lectureship
The Chandigarh Church and the NIBC host their annual lectureship for the preachers in North India. This is the first and major initiative to bring brothers together on one platform. It helps the weak brethren to be in touch and do not lose the faith. 100 letters are being sent to the different locations of North India (Hindi speaking Belt) to invite preachers to attend NIPL-2013. This year the North India Preachers’ Lectureship comes on the 14th and 15th of February 2013. The study this year will be from 2 & 3 John and the Epistle of Jude. This year we have planned to gift a small Bible Bag to each preacher with the Bible College address printed on that. This way those preachers can tell about the NIBC, all the time they go for preaching or visiting people with their Bible.

Literature Distribution
We are helping preachers throughout North India by sending each month the complete Bibles, New Testaments, Song Books, Tracts and small leaflets. The Voice of Truth has been proven a real blessing for those who are in search of Truth.

This year so far we have sent 385 Bible, 150 song books, 5,000 VOTI (Hindi), more that 20,000 Truth for today books, several NT’s, tracts and sent BIBLE KI BAAT (Bi-monthly) leaflet.

The obedience to the Truth
It gives us a great joy when we hear of those who have obeyed the Lord. Not only here, we have heard of more than 100 baptisms that took place in different locations where our co-workers are working.

New Students
We have been working to enroll the students for the next session. I have been getting requests from Punjab, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and other places.

We give thanks to God for all the blessings he has bestowed on us this year and appreciate all the partners in prayer and encouraging us with their means. To God be the glory (1 Corinthians 3:6, 7).

These are just a few out of the countless blessings we received and it gives me joy to share with you all.

Your fellow worker

Hindi Booklets Are Reaching Masses In India...

First of all, we are prayerfully thankful that there has not been a single news of loss among the brotherhood in the recent natural calamities in the US and in India. The Lord is in control. He gives us strength and wisdom to share His message among his people.

We are also thankful for all the supporters and well wishers who are partaking with us to spread and strengthen the work in this Northern belt. It gives me immense pleasure to share with you some of activities during the past few weeks. After brother Jerry and brother Rodney left Chandigarh, we were more busy in Lord's work here. After the first Wednesday meeting in Parjapati Bhawan we were again ready to go to the People.

Sharing the truth with Voice of Truth International (Hindi)
After printing the Voice of truth International (Hindi), Vol. 2, we thought to take it to as many people as we could. We set a target of 1,000 books (out of 5,000 copies we printed here) to be given in Chandigarh and the surrounding areas. I am glad that we could do that. We asked students to go by bus to the far places and visit the nearer places on foot. They did it and it was very encouraging for them to contact new people.

Follow up
To leave the people after giving them the book does not seem to me a good idea. So we have thought to start the work in new places. In Kharar (of adjoining City Mohali) we have started meeting in the evening on Sunday. Sector 26 (about 15 Kms. from our place to the other corner of the city) is in mind to start work there. Baddi (an industrial town in adjoining state, Himachal Pradesh) is also in our prayers to start work there.

Amritsar Trip
On the 23rd of October, brother Mangal had arranged a gospel meeting in Verka, Amritsar. More than 100 people attended. Brother Francis David and sister Elsy came from Delhi and we, along with the children, joined from Chandigarh. Preachers from other places of Punjab were invited. We took the students also.

Brother Francis and I were asked to preach there. The meeting went well, except that there was a sudden storm in the middle of the program and all tents were blown away and the electricity failed. The banner was found the next day in the fields. It was blown in the air as the program was on the roof. There was darkness everywhere, but thank God brother Mangal had arranged a generator set and we had light after a short while to continue. We thank God we could arrange downstairs and all went well. People were there to hear the word of God.

This kind of event is a part of learning how to arrange meetings and an encouragement to each other. Students were also able to visit Indo-Pak International Border retreat and the world famous golden temple of Sikhs in Amritsar.

Bombay Trip
My Bombay trip in the first has been postponed due to some changes in program there. Now I will go on the evening of the 13th and return back on the 18th after 3 days Bible class there. I hope to fetch some students from that side too.

Dengue Fever
Dengue has spread in the city and some of our members are affected by it. They need our prayers.

SMS Service restarted
Started a couple of years back, our daily SMS message on mobiles is started again. In the past few months I had stopped that due to financial reasons and the restriction of the government due to security and other reasons. But, thank God it is back now and we are able to send text messages to 1,600 people daily. This way we are able to send 50,000 messages each month.

Literature Distribution
We are using every opportunity the Lord provides us to share the word of God with as many people as we can. Presently we are sending throughout the nation and to Nepal also, Truth for Today (Hindi and Punjabi) books for preachers and the common people as well. Bibles, New Testaments and Song books are also part of that to help the local preachers.

Correspondence course
Though we do not have it in the Hindi language, yet as people know that we are running a Bible Education program, there is increasing demand of the Bible correspondence course in Hindi language. I think we need to think over it seriously as many people can be blessed with that.

I am sure, there is no end of writing, but this is just a glimpse to inform the brethren, what is going on here and that every penny we get, is used for the glory of God.
