Cameroon Bible Institute of Wotutu
The Cameroon Bible Institute of Wotutu (CBIW) started January 3, 2011. Seventeen students graduated in the alpha batch in December of 2012. There are currently twenty seven students and five instructors in CBIW. Elangwe Greg currently serves as one of the instructors and the director. Brother Elangwe has been instrumental in getting the school started and partnering with Bear Valley Bible Institute of Denver.
Cameroon has literally been praying and fasting in hopes of establishing a preaching school for many years. Thanks be to God these prayers have been answered. The church has been producing fruit, but the saints see greater opportunities for the gospel to be spread and souls to be saved. The brethren also see the value of highly trained men carrying the true gospel message and handling the word correctly.
The graduates are in the field serving the needs of congregations as well as continuing to be involved in evangelism in their area and jointly around Cameroon. The present students are already winning many souls for the Lord in their evangelism campains. We are enjoying seeing the fruit that has and will come about from these 44 men. Please keep these men and this work in your prayers.
We are happy to have been able to set up a computer lab with five computers, internet service, and a printer, scanner, copier. This lab will be a great asset to student research and reports as well a great asset to the work of the Wotutu Church of Christ which is the seat of the school.
We have been having booklets of the courses taught at CBIW printed and spiral bound by a print shop. We have also been having all tests, quizzes, and copies of documents that need to be made printed. To offset this expense and produce greater convenience for making extra copies as needed, and to be able to copying and printing word documents and essays, we have purchased a nice copy machine and a spiral binding machineto be used by CBIW and the Wotutu church of Christ. The students of CBIW will now graduate with a very nice set of durable course booklets that they can use as they take their positions as ministers of the congregations of the Lord's Church in Cameroon. Thank you to all who have helped to make this possible.
We are thanful for the funds that have been made available to build a two story addition to the Wotutu Church building for a children's class/ worhip hall extension on the botton story and a dormatory for the CBIW students on the top story. This will mean that we will no longer have to rent any facilities for CBIW.The construction of this addition will begin as soon as the rainy season is over in that region of Cameroon.
Another great asset for CBIW and the Church of Christ Wotutu to aid in evangelism and transport of members to worship is a 19 passenger Toyota van. The estimated cost is between around $15,000 for a van with around 140,000 miles on it and around $25,000 for one with around 40,000 miles on it.
The following is a description of the pictures that can be seen below. Enjoy!
The first picture is the children's class of the Wotutu Church of Christ. They have class outside in the heat on sunny days and are not able to have class as a group on rainy days. Thanks to a generous donation, they will have a classroom to learn in soon that will also double as an extension of the worhip hall. The upper story will be a dorm for the CBIW students. Thanks for the help.
The second picture is of the CBIW students in the Wotutu Church of Christ facility during instuction time and testing time.
The third picture is of the myself, the director, and the Beta Batch of students on the steps of the Wotutu Church of Christ. The seat of CBIW.
The fourth picture is of myself, David Ballard, and the director, Brother Elangwe visiting the congregation of an Alpha batch graduate Minister Innocent. It is great to see the fruits of one's labor. We are very proud of our graduates and of the great jobs that they are doing for the Lord. Please keep them in your prayers as they make great sacrifices for the sake of the Kingdom.
The fifth through seventh pictures are pictures of the Ediki church of Christ which was restored to worship on 8-11-13. There were 31 who gathered to worship with included 4 from CBIW who were to there to evanglelize, restore, and lead the worship. Many brethren came back to the Lord and four new souls were added. If you would like to help this congregation with the restoration of their facility, please let me know.
Our God is an awesome God.
